Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires Release Date For Japan Has Been Revealed

Koei Tecmo has officially announced the release date of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires for Japan and East Asia at its live stream of the Tokyo Game Show 2021. The game will be available on 23rd December 2021.

Producer Akihiro Suzuki presented new gameplay footage featuring originally created characters. One of them is an elder version of Zhao Yun, made with exclusive parts from the game's early purchase incentives. The footage also included cutscenes that can feature any characters, including player-created ones.

Suzuki also showed a sneak peek of Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires' character creation mode. The footage showed the new RGB coloring feature that players can apply to each costume part separately. It also confirmed the return of the officer replacement system. Using this system, players can replace existing officers — both unique and generic — with their own created characters. The producer had previously revealed more returning features, such as marriage and child inheritance.

Near the end of the segment, Akihiro Suzuki expressed his interest in releasing a demo version of the game. However, he has not confirmed the demo's release date, so he will announce it at a later time.

Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Japan and East Asia on 23rd December 2021. Koei Tecmo will announce details for the western English release later.
