A poem dedicated to the one I loved, for I was invisible in their eyes.

I didn’t think that it would come to this

You were the shy one

The one who was so nice

But then the inky black clouds surrounded you

It surrounded you until it consumed you whole

I tried to grab your hand but you were nowhere in reach

So then your pure white radiance turned

Turned to the darkness you said it would never be

I never wanted anything more than to protect you

Protect you from this cruel reality

I couldn’t find you in this darkness

I didn’t think it would be this

You still stand the same but you are not

Your smiles now hides the utmost sorrow  

You talk to talk but you never mean anything any more

You never did anything

You don’t deserve this

Anything but this

“What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” they say

It’s a lie

You’ve made a mask to hide behind

Each day you get farther and farther from my side

But closer and closer to the edge

And then you fade away with the gentle breeze

Your smile is all that’s left for me to remember

I didn’t think it would come to this in this bleak December  

Cause now I’m falling into the abyss

The air passing my body fills me with fear

As my ending comes near

I think back

Back to when I had a reason to smile

You made everything worthwhile

But now it is all gone along with you
