A story of the strange Cassandra

@CassieRyan5

"Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh." Cassie whispered as she backed into the changing stall." It's fine."

Cassie and I had been talking about the upcoming election, insisting  that we instead elect her as dictator instead. We had both decided that it would be the best idea for America, or at least better than Trump.

"But Cassie, America has a democracy, you can't be a dictator!" I yelled back at her.

"SHHHHHH IT'S FINE." Cassie screamed in a southern accent as she flung open the curtain to the stall. "It's fine because not Bill Clinton."

Cassie has insisted, quite often, on her being the rightful dictator of the united states. It was either that, or she would be rambling about how pink diamond should be the dictator. She had even told me that last year, two kids had said she would be a dictator when she grew up.

During gym class, we had a thing going on where we would roleplay steven universe characters. We had started it last year with a few of our freinds since we all had gym together. Our current gym class only had Cassie and I,so  we could only roleplay as two of the characters. Cassie was Jasper, who was loud, angry, loved pink diamond, and wanted to fight everyone. Cassie and her were somewhat similar, although Cassie was only angry or acting like she wanted to fight you as a joke.

Today in particular, Cassie was being Jasper, and continued to insist that she should run for dictator.

"Even if you did become dictator what laws would you pass?" I asked as we both

Cassie paused and made a clicking sound. "Well. There would be a rave. In a cornfield. Twenty six hours. Saturday Sunday Monday Friday." Cassie walked off to the gym door and pranced out of sight, her high heels clacking against the floor.

Cassie didn't at all dress to her personality. While she would usually be extremely ecstatic and quite random at times, her style was very proper. She often had her long blondish hair in a neat ponytail and wore high heels, so most would expect her to be prim and proper.

Speaking of the high heels, Cassie refuses to believe that they were high heels. Cassie insisted that they were just high heeled boots. I argued that the heel was higher than the rest of the shoe, therefore they were high heels, however we still cannot reach an agreement on this.

Today in gym we were about to play soccer, meaning that it was expected for Cassie to be goalie and yell 'no' as loud as possible whenever the ball came near her. This was her strategy for keeping the other team away.

Cassie and I had both got chosen for the no pinny team,so we walked to stand against the back wall.

"Make homeworld great again." Cassie whispered in the most serious tone she could.

I crumpled to the floor laughing. "We can build a wall around the crystal gems!"

Cassie turned to me and spoke in a southern accent once more." We gotta get rid of the illegal crystal gems. Then we can make homeworld great again."

Of course, most if not all of what we were saying was a joke. In reality, we both hated Trump, and kinda feared for our lives if he was to get elected. But like with most things that scare us, we hide our true fear by using humor and memes.

Soon enough we were called out onto the field and Cassie bolted to the net, determination in her eyes. Of course I couldn't actually see her eyes since she was running and had glasses on, but let's pretend she had determination in her eyes.

The second the game began, Cassie resumed her usual screeching of the word no while flailing her arm to keep the ball away. This was quite ironic, since Cassie actually played for a soccer team. Despite this fact, Cassie chose to smack the ball without any calculated plan, seeing as that's the kind of person Cassie usually was.

It wasn't long before our game ended and we trekked back against the wall to continue our conversation about making homeworld great again.

"So do we have to elect pink diamond as president to make homeworld great again?" I asked, leaning against the wall.

Cassie gave me a death glare" We can't do that because ROSE killed Pink Diamond!" Cassie stomped her foot  screeching angrily.

"Ok Ok but it had to happen," I replied patting her shoulder."We have the crystal gems now so-"

"Don't you talk to me you traitorous clod. You betrayed me!"

"Oh come on I only called Yellow Diamond a clod to her face once!"

"I don't care about Yellow Diamond! You joined ROSE. You joined the person who killed Pink Diamond!"Cassie sniffled, then continuing in her southern accent"I loved Pink Diamond. And you killed her."

"Well technically speaking I didn't kill her."

Cassie glared at me again."That doesn't matter! I loved her and she's gone!"

We paused for a second, processing what Cassie had just said. Since we had recently seen the new steven universe episode, we both recognized that what Cassie had just said was almost identical to a song that pearl sings. The funny part: that song is about Rose, aka the one Cassie had been screaming about hating just a second ago.

After that, we played a few more games, but the class was generally uneventful.

Back in the locker room, Cassie raced to her locker, grabbing the lock before I could move it. She than lurked back into her changing stall, and soon enough the bell rang.

In the two years I've known Cassie, she has always been the upbeat and strange person that she is today.
