It's common knowledge that the Godzilla anime trilogy sucked harder than your mom. Yet with life in general, there's always a positive in there. Even if you have to go through mountains of fecal wastes that makes the Great Unclean Ones of Nurgles Garden gag in order to find it.

That makes no sense but onto the list we go.

I like the idea of the setting

Like all stories the concept itself must strike firm and true if you want the audience to be invested. The idea of this movie setting is that humanity has been gone from earth for so long that Godzilla himself had essentially terraformed the entire planets ecosystem to be just like him. Since Godzilla was vastly different in this, being more of a sentient plant like creature, it was able to achieve this. The idea that everything from the trees to the animals are now part of Godzilla is a super fascinating idea. Unfortunately the only thing that they showed was landscapes of dull colored trees, dragons, tentacles, a single worm, and...yeah that's it. Would've helped make the world stand out more if we saw other Kaiju's having been turned into the same plant like structure Godzilla had.

Godzilla Earth

Whether you love or hate this variant, Godzilla himself was the highlight of these movies. Easily the biggest Godzilla variant to date, he comes with a plethora of different lore and abilities that makes him stand out compared to previous incarnations. While yes, we didn't get to see him fight a lot, seeing him actually take action was always nice to see. Especially when showing the sheer devastating power that he possessed.

Houtua

A big highlight for me was the Houtua, the humanoids who had turned into Mothra worshippers from the generations of humans who lived under her protection. Mothra herself was barely used but I do like the idea of an entire civilization taking after her with their own culture and ways of life. Plus I do like how they're designed.

Ghidorah's Concept

Ghidorah was, what many consider, to be a massive letdown considering his and Godzillas "fight" was a glorified struggle session. That being said, I do really like the idea of Ghidorah. Turning the famous planet eater dragon into an eldritch entity who appears from an entirely separate universe in order to devour worlds was so damn cool. Plus you can't deny him destroying the space station in the third movie was a really well done scene.

The MMD Videos

Okay this may be cheating but cmon. The mmd videos retelling these movies with actual fights are way better than the actual flicks. We can thank the existence of these films at least for giving us quality content by that creator.

The music

I don't really have a lot to say. The music was just really damn good.
