DCEU in a Nutshell

Just like the Marvel Phase 4 in a nutshell chapter, except it's covering the entirety of the messiest cinematic universe in history.

Man of Steel

I've never seen a movie more divisive than this one. People either like it or hate it. Like in how it's a relatively good superhero movie and hate as in how it tried to make Superman "edgy." I personally don't mind it, but Zack Snyder is really not the person you should be looking for if you want a true Superman story.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice

Hooooo fuck this movie did not get a lot of love. Rightfully so, it's really bad. Frankly I'm just tired of Batman vs Superman stories and this one does not do it well whatsoever. Batman and Superman are both idiots in this, completely disregarding the morals of these characters in their comic origins. Let me just say, the casting choice for Lex Luther was so bad it makes Brie Larson for Captain Marvel look good.

Suicide Squad

It's really funny how people defended this movie when it first came out, but after a while it was agreed upon that this movie was BAD. Arguably one of the worst Jokers ever made. Just a really bad movie in general.

Wonder Woman

At last we have a good movie. Wonder Woman is pretty generic but that's a freaking compliment for the DCEU at this point. The scene with Wonder Woman rushing through No Mans Land was awesome. While it does kinda fart in the end, it's an overall good movie.

Justice League

.....I mean what can I even say at this point? It's regarded as one of the worst superhero movies ever made. That's...really it.

Aquaman

Be honest, you didn't go see this movie to watch Aquaman. You saw this movie to see Jason Mamoa playing his most iconic role...HIMSELF. But yeah, Jason carries this movie...but unfortunately Amber Heard kinda ruins the feel of this movie now after the Depp situation.

Shazam!

While this movie does have its cliches, I think it has enough heart to be considered good. While I don't hate cliches as much as everyone does, it does get bad then they're noticeable.

Birds of Prey (I'm not saying the full title)

It's exactly what you expect when movies at the time were trying to base their entire enjoyment value on "strong female character." Power fantasy for Harley Quinn, majority female cast, evil sexist man as the villain, yada yada yada moving on.

Wonder Woman 1984

This, dear reader, is the prime example of how to kill the good grace of audiences via sequels. This movie is really bad with extremely questionable morality issues. Seriously, I guess the guy who was possessed by Diana's old lover didn't matter even though his body was being used without his consent. Really funny how that was allowed yet this movie would've gotten canceled if that happened the other way around-

Zack Snyders Justice League

I think this movie really encapsulates just how fucked the DCEU was from the beginning. When even the studio itself was fucking each other so hard that the guy who started the movie franchise wasn't even able to make his own Justice League until four years later. As for the movie...I don't know I've heard mixed things. If you like Zack Snyder, you're gonna like it. If you don't like Zack Snyder, you're not gonna like it.

The Suicide Squad

Honestly I call this the "Guardians of the Galaxy" for the DC. After the embarrassment of the original movie, this one felt like an apology for how bad the first movie was. It's no wonder that they chose James Gunn to take over the cinematic universe after the success of this movie.

Black Adam

I just feel bad for this movie. Credit where credit is due, I appreciate how Dwayne Johnson was trying to get this film franchise back up and even tried to get Henry Cavil back as Superman. But unfortunately, this movie came out during the time people started to get sick of Superhero movies. Thanks Marvel.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods

This movie is the epitome of mid. I really can't say anything else, it's just mid

The Flash

There's a special kind of bad a movie must attain to be considered so bad that even the internet joins in unison at how terrible it is. Nobody liked this movie and no, not even Tim Burton Batman could have saved it. This movie gets a special place in my heart of hatred for keeping a piece of shit like Ezra Miller around. Literally anyone else would have been crucified for any of the things he did, yet he just gets a slap on the wrist inside his Hollywood bubble.

Blue Beetle

I don't know anymore man. It's "FINE." At this point, I just don't think any of these movies are even worth it with the soon enough franchise reboot. So why do we even bother?

With how poorly handled this entire cinematic universe was, and looking at Marvel in its current position, I think it's safe to say that people are just tired of superhero media now. Nobody cares and everyone's getting sick of it. The cliches and repetitive stories must end sometime. Here's hoping that sometime is soon.
