Anime characters part of the LGBTQ community that you might not have known:

1. The reason Hanji is normally just referred to as "doctor" or just Hanji is because the creator didn't give Hanji pronouns on purpose. This was censored and changed in the English dub

2. The creators have mentioned, and shown in the anime and manga that Sailor Uranus is both male and female. The character is fine with either pronoun and will dress however they want.

3. If you saw the English dub of Sailor Moon, you may have been confused about Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune's weird relationship and flirting, despite the English dub saying they are cousins. I'm here to tell you that they are NOT indeed cousins.
Both characters, Uranus and Neptune, are I love with each other. America didn't like the idea of LGBTQ stuff in the 1990s and tried censoring it. So the dub kept talking about how the two were cousins.

4. I don't talk that much about Kiyoharu Suirenji from Magical Girl Site, but she's a trans person on the list. While the manga translation of her character is REALLY mean about her character, still calling her a guy, the series does a good job none the less with transgender representation. I believe it was a translation bug or another from of censorship that did this:

Anyways, Kiyoharu Suirenji was born male and came out as trans girl. She actually became a magical girl through the "magical girl site" for "poor unfortunate children". Her character calls herself a girl, posts cute pictures online in girls clothing, wears girl's clothing to school (and gets in trouble for it constantly), and gets bullied for being trans. The other girls also get creeped out accept for one one of the other magical girls. Even some of the other magical girls bully her.

But her being trans is not the main plot, and she is a side character. In fact, the reason she hasn't killed the bullies (because this is a thriller) is that she is "waiting for them to be the happiest they can be and to crush it bit by bit".

(I rambled about this character because the series is under rated and she IS a good character. The English translation REALLY did them dirty though)

Those are just a few of the LGBTQ characters, maily gender non confirming characters. I think those are the best characters and I love the representation.
