Austin was standing over a defeated Brainiac.

Austin: after I had defeated Brainiac, I turned my sights to superman.

The scene shifts to Austin standing before superman.

Austin: I knew he would try to use Brainiac's ship as if he knew how it worked. I warned him to let batman use Brainiac to resort all the cities that were in the collection. But he didn't listen and attacked me. So I had to destroy him.

The scene shifted to superman disintegrating from Austin's destruction attack. Then it shifted to batman with Austin.

Austin: after that, batman was forming a new justice league. He offered me a spot but I declined. I had other things that needed to be done.

He was waking alone in a field.

Austin: after all, someone was after my head for killing Superman.

He turned as he saw a certain amazon holding her sword and shield at ready.

Austin: she can try all she wants, but she'll end up just like him.
