A/N: I was reading one of PhoenixMason 's when I noticed something. And I would like to point something out.

AnimeGoddess2 , if you're reading this, I won't judge you if you dislike Power Rangers, that's fine. I dislike Megaforce and Super Megaforce. But I would point out one important fact

Power Rangers are actually based on a Japanese series.

Yes, Voltron came out in the 1980s while Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers came in 1993, which would make one think they're copied off Voltron. But contrary to popular beliefs, they're not.

In fact, they're actually based on a Japanese show Super Sentai with the first being in 1975 and with their counterpart, Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger, which airs in 1992-1993.

See? And if you watched the video, that's right, the Yellow Ranger was actually a male in the Japanese series, which explains why Trini has no skirt unlike the Pink Ranger Kimberly. Here just watch this video

But if you wanna call them rip-offs, then I say Super Sentai is the original because;

1. As the video stated, Power Rangers already used the transformation sequences and just replaced with American actors, every series from Mighty Morphin' up to Beast Morphers. Hell, the Dinozords are even ancient gods in the Super Sentai.

2. Most of the villains in the Power Rangers are just plain weird, while many in the Super Sentai are actually dangerous and intimidating. Sure they're a few like Rita Repulsa that the PR company used, but her personality and character is a bit off compared to her Japanese counterpart

And 3. While most Power Rangers  series are based on the sacrifice of Zords and few people, the Super Sentai is actually more based on human/demi-human deaths.

(Just for fun) 4. Unlike Megaforce and Super Megaforce, their Super Sentai counterparts are completely different characters, Megaforce being Goseiger and Super Megaforce being Gokaiger.

But like I said, I won't judge anyone if they personally dislike Power Rangers, I'm just pointing out that they're not a rip-off to Voltron.

If you have time though, I suggest watching some of the Super Sentai series, they're really good. My personal favorite is Mahou Sentai Magiranger, the Japanese counterpart to Mystic Force.
