Ronnie has been trying very hard to be 'cool' ever since the day that his niece and nephew became such a huge part of his life. All he's ever wanted was to become worthy of their respect, and as he never had a chance to have kids of his own, he's always wanted/tried to be a father figure for these two.
I should clarify that he has no actual concept of 'cool'.

Despite all of this, Ronnie is very protective and loyal. All he's ever wanted is a family and will do whatever it takes to keep it that way. He loves his family dearly, gives good hugs, is always around to offer advice, and likes to feel included in his nephew and nieces life.

Ronnie is also very witty, and a quick thinker, despite his complete lack of contextual understanding when it comes to modernised words (usually vine references). He's a dad at heart and literally makes dad joked whenever he can. Puns are his specialty and he always tries his best to lighten the mood.

Backstory:
Dash has a relatively simple backstory, everything you'd expect, including the fact that from a young age, he was unnaturally fast.
Around 6 is when he realised he wasn't just 'quick', he had superspeed. From around that time, he and his slimy cane to the conclusion that he was born that way. And he didn't question it for a while. Until he was a little older and realised, he'd never heard of somebody being 'born' with powers. Of course he started to have his suspicions, but never asked too many questions. He was just grateful for his... gift.

When he was a young adult, he met someone, a man around his age who studied biology at university. They bumped into each other in a library, and Ronnie may or may not have accidentally picked up his books with superspeed. Despite what he'd hoped, it was very obvious, and of course the man had questions.

They got close, working together and he let Alec study him. Ronnie was infatuated was him, of course, so he had no problem with the tests, it let them have more time together after all.
They did this for years, before slowly getting closer, and closer, and somehow started dating. It was a weird time, being both work partners and romantic partners.

When the study came to an end, they stayed together. And on their 3rd anniversary, Ronnie popped the question.
It was the happiest moment of his life, without question. He knew he had found the one.

They were engaged for about a month,  and Alec was going to move in, but before they even had a chance, there was an accident.
Ronnie almost forgot that some people die in normal ways. Alec was driving, and it was Icy that day, and he swerved. 
He skidded right into a tree, and the police report said he died upon impact.

There was nobody for Ronnie to seek revenge on, nobody for him to hold a grudge against. It was an accident, nothing more. And it ruined his life, just like that.

His niece and nephew/Zoom and Momentum. He also had a fiancé previously, but is now single.
