Why I Don't Blame Hot Rod for Jumping in The Way
A/N: this is a little page I've had on my mind now and I thought I would do it already.
This page regards a certain event in the 1986 transformers movie near the end of Optimus and Megatron's fight.

As we all know, Hot Rod had jumped in away to stop megatron from trying to shoot Optimus. Optimus tried to shoot megatron, but, the young bot was in the way, giving megatron time to take him hostage and shoot Optimus and critically injure him. This is what lead many people into hating Hod Rod.
But I wanted to tell you all why I don't blame the Young Autobot for the actions he did during the battle at Autobot city.
But to start off, many of us know that the outcome would have been different had hot rod not gotten in the way. The Transformers Deviations comics back this up.

Optimus would have dodged the blast and killed Megatron on the spot.
But now onto why I don't blame Hot Rod for all this to begin with. Let's pit ourselves in Hot Rod's shoes for a moment. Hot Rod was someone who looked up to optimus greatly. And seeing his leader's worst enemy about to pull a weapon out on him without the leader knowing to try and kill him was probably stressful enough for him considering he's been in a long going battle to protect autobot city from decepticons, so seeing that would increase the stress even further. And this could also answer why he didn't just simply try to blast megatron's hand to keep him away from the gun, he was too under the stress and wasn't thinking very rationally on the situation at hand, he saw megatron sneaking for a weapon and he had to act.
But, that's only what I can give for why I don't blame him. What do you guys think? Do you Blame hot rod for jumping in the way? Or do you think that you could understand why he did such a thing?
