The Classroom?

I approached the dark building, hoping for the best. This was my first public school, after all. I wasnt sure what to expect.

I could see children playing and shrieking with delight, and I ran towards them, excited to see actual, live people for once.

You see, Daddy said he worked at a funeral home. So I saw plenty of dead bodies. But never... never really any live ones. I was homeschooled, and Daddy had never let me go out to play.

As I neared the gates, a pungent scent stung my nose. I paused a second, but didnt really think much of it. The smell grew stronger as I neared the kids, growing so bad that I almost vomited. Was this what public school smelled like? I hoped not.

I was still running, my long, brown braids swinging behind me, when the bell rang. I was confused, but the other kids moved towards the door, seeming almost zombie like now. I followed, readjusting my uniform.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I'd been in the classroom for a while now, and the scent kept getting worse. I'd left to go to the bathroom twice now, just to throw up. Every time I returned, the other kids jeered at me. I was scared of them now.

And my teacher wasnt much better. She was strict, and she had hit me with a ruler when I asked to go to the bathroom a second time.

I hated her. I hated the kids. I hated this school.

Finally the bell rang again, signaling it was break. I followed the kids outside, but something was weird. As we went outside, I realized I was the only kid there. And where the playground had been... there was a cemetery.

Confused, I went back inside, only to be greeted with darkness. I walked back to the classroom, and stepped in something wet. It... it smelled weird. Almost like metal. I bent down and touched the bottom of my shoe. My fingers came away wet, and a dark substance was coating them.

When I finally reached my classroom, I saw children. Maybe a dozen of them, in the seats. Their eyes lifeless, and bodies rotting.

I was about to scream when hands clasped over my mouth.

"It's ok, dear daughter. You can join them now."

A pain exploded in the back of my head as the world faded to black.
