tri's adventure - 1
The waves splashed against the sand, getting scarily close to the red-striped towel that Tri sat on before quickly going back to its home. Tri looked around at the empty beach, huddled under a blue beach umbrella with a black blanket wrapped around their small triangular body.
A gust of wind blew against the sand, throwing particles into their eye. They rubbed it, blinking rapidly.
"Are you ok?"
Tri looked around, wondering where the voice came from.
"Up here, sweetheart."
Standing and looking up, they noticed that the umbrella was sympathetically looking down at them, despite it not having any face.
"Hello." Tri waved, not sure how to react.
"Hello to you too. I'm so sorry about the sand, they've been more rowdy with each other ever since you appeared."
The umbrella's head tilted a bit towards the sand angrily moving around in one spot. Some sand moved closer to the towel and made a waving motion at Tri and the umbrella.
Tri looked back up at it. "You talk."
"Yes." The umbrella nodded. "I assume you don't know much about this place."
"I dont remember anything."
"Oh dear. What is your name, if I may ask?"
"Tri."
"You can call me Umbrella." Umbrella leaned down closer to Tri. "If you haven't already noticed, everything here is alive."
Tri looked at the ocean, who was watching the sand with a cautious eye as its tide moved back and forth, the sun, blazing with warmth as it looked over its citizens, the cars far away from the beach, honking in what seemed to be a shouting match about gas prices, and the blanket that they dropped, rising up and down in a sleeping motion.
"This planet revolves around Sun. It is the one that controls the weather with its emotions and creates night and day through its sleeping routine." Umbrella looked up at the sky. "From the dark weather we're having today, I'd say that it isnt too fond of your appearance."
The clouds covered most of the sky except for Sun's blazing stature, its gaze staring down at Tri in a displeased way. Tri shuddered a bit in fear, looking down at the ground.
"It'll probably understand if you explain your situation to it," Umbrella assured Tri, going back to gazing down at them. "I dont know how you'd get a consultation with Sun, but the cars over there might know."
Tri bowed down. "Thank you, Umbrella."
"You don't have to bow to us lower values. Only the higher-ups."
Tri tilted their body in confusion, but nodded, picking up the black blanket.
"Goodbye, and thanks again for the advice," They concluded, waving and starting to walk away.
"You're welcome." The umbrella made a motion that seemed to be waving back.
Tri stepped out of the sand and onto the pavement, walking up a hill towards the loud parking lot.
