So, I have an old AU I recently remembered and I forgot how much I loved it-
So in bringing it back-
What is it, you ask?
Merfolk AU.

So you're probably like: "What's this AU about... Uh... Whatever your name is?"
Please, Lis, Novie, or Novester is fine.
And this AU is about different merpeople that live in different kingdoms.
They're called Redtails, Bluetails, Purpletails, Monotails, and Sirens
Well, what are the descriptions of these merpeople?
Well, I'm about to tell you.

First, we have the Redtails:
• tails with different shades of red
• Adapted to have sharp fins
• extremely hostile ( and homicidal )
• known for killing humans
• if one converted to Bluetail ways, they will be banished from the territory
• some try to get Bluetails to convert to Redtail ways
• will kidnap Bluetails and Purpletails

Second, we have the Bluetails:
• tails with different shades of blue
• adapted to have smooth fins
• peaceful
• if converted to Redtail ways ( which is extremely rare ), they will also be banished, but instead out of shame it's out of fear
• try to get Redtails to convert to Bluetail ways
• will kidnap Redtails and Purpletails

Third, we have Purpletails:
• tails with different shades of purple
• hybrid of Bluetail and Redtail
• adapted to have sharp and smooth fins
• not excepted in Redtail society, but praised in Bluetail society
• can be peaceful, hostile, or neutral
• uncommon, but not rare
• will work in Redtail and Bluetail societies, if neutral they hide in a different kingdom

Fourth, Monotails:
• tails can be shades of white or black
• fins can be sharp or smooth
• whites camouflage with sand, blacks camouflage in shadows
• spy on different kingdoms because they're extremely cautious
• v rich
• not seen as threats do to being underestimated for their colors ( though some are suspicious of them )
• usually swim in pairs or groups, especially when spying
• hidden kingdom

And lastly, Sirens:
• not merpeople at all ( based off of twin tailed sirens )
•seen as gods
• EXTREMELY rare, only four known in existence
• live in a hidden cave-like castle
• worshipped by all kingdoms
• neutral, but mostly depicted as peaceful
• only few are destined to see the four
