In an alternate scenario, that Kristal never became a Starr, and remained a Wakefield with her wealthy family back in Boston and ends going West, with her brother and sister to help a friend start a law office in Arizona Territory. After taking the stagecoach from the train station, outlaws attack and nab Kristal. A couple riders stumble upon the scene after to a distraught group. One of the riders is Billy the Kid, thought dead for some time. Chandler, Kristal's brother offers a reward if he brings back his sister. This is when he finds her tied to a tree. (This was actually a dream I had oddly enough)
