This is a crossover between Brave and Shrek 3 between King Arthur and Princess Merida.... A request for Chipmunklover16...

One day deep in the woods of Scotland a young 19-year-old boy named Arthur Pendragon was exploring the woods. Since he became king of Far, Far Away he had been busy with responsibilities and they were wearing on him, but he handled it well with a smile on his face.

But lately the elders had been getting on his case to find a suitor and he was slowly dragging his feet at it. Finding someone would take time and he decided leaving his advisor in charge he would go out to look for a princess or some maid to bring back. It was part of his plan, but he wanted to explore and used it to his advantage.

He had his sword and a bow and arrows as he hiked though the woods and it was quiet with the birds going off and he saw a small blue whisp of something and he followed it.

Not far away a young pretty red-headed Scottish princess named Merida was out riding as she normally did, and she was practicing archery. She stood on her horse and shot the target and sat back down having fun.

Arthur was still walking when he heard a horse, and he backed up and saw the horse jump with a rider on its back.

Merida saw a figure and stopped as she jumped off her horse and pulled down her hood.

''Hey there who might you be?'' She asked going over to the boy.

Arthur was in shock he had never seen a girl this pretty before and she had an accent that he liked.

''I'm King Arthur Pendragon and you are?'' He introduced and asked.

''I'm Princess Merida.'' She said as they bowed and shook hands.

''Nice to meet you your highness.'' He smiled at her.

''Thank you and it's nice to meet you. So, what are you doing out here in these woods?'' She asked.

''I was just exploring. I like adventure and I decided to come here to take in the sites.'' He explained not getting into the real reason why.

''I see it is starting to get dark why don't you come back to my castle and stay the night. It's not safe here when it gets dark.'' She answered.

''Sure.'' He smiled and climbed on the horse as he held her waist.

Merida gulped at the feeling and felt warm and fuzzy as she took off. They rode for about 15 minutes before they came to the castle.

They got off the horse and Merida grabbed Arthur's and pulled him into the castle and into where her dad and mom were sitting and her little brothers nowhere to be seen.

''Mum dad!'' She called.

They looked up.

''Merida there you are.'' Her mother smiled and stopped when she saw the boy that was with her. ''Who is this?'' She asked.

''I'm King Arthur Pendragon your majesty.'' He said.

''Ahh a boy! Merida you didn't tell us you were dating.'' Her dad said coming over.

''Oh no dad we aren't dating I found him in the woods.'' She explained.

''I see I'm King Fergus and this is my lovely wife, Queen Elinor.'' Fergus introduced as he shook Arthur's hand.

''Nice to meet you too.'' Arthur replied as he felt his body move with the shake.

''Come sit we were just about to eat.'' The King replied.

They sat down as the maid brought in the triplet boys.

''Oh, you have boys as well?'' Asked Arthur.

''Yes, we do. But Merida here is the oldest.'' Her mother smiles.

''That is nice.'' Arthur said as they ate.

''I hope you like it here. How long are you staying?'' Asked King Fergus.

''Oh, for a week or 2 and then I'll be moving on I'm a king but I'm taking a break and exploring.'' Athur smiled.

''Thats great! And while you're here Merida will show you around and accompany you.'' Elinor replied looking at her daughter who was eating.

''Yeah, sure mum.'' She smiles and looks at Athur with a smile.

After supper Merida and Arthur were walking around the kingdom.

''It's beautiful here.'' He replied.

''Thank you, Arthur.'' Merida smiles.

''You can call me Artie most do.'' He replied.

''Alright Artie. Where is your homeland?'' She asked.

''A place in a fantasy land but it's called Far, Far, away.'' He said as they were in his room sitting outside the balcony taking in the air and the view of the sea.

''Sounds like fun, what's all there?'' She asked.

''Fairytale characters from books, it's a nice place it's just lonely there.'' Artie replied.

''So, you decided to get away huh?'' She asked.

''Yes, but the real reason I left is because while I am king the elders and others are wanting me to find a suitor a princess so to speak.... and I just I don't know not ready for that yet so I told them I would travel to find a princess and I explore while doing that... I like being king but its hard.'' He said.

''I get that. I'm a princess but my parents are trying to find a suitor for me. We had a archery contest and I ended up shooting for my own hand and I did.'' She smiles.

''Woah, sure are a princess.'' He smiles.

Over the next couple of days Artie and Merida were spending time together bonding and Merida taught him how to shoot an arrow and soon enough he became really good at it.

She also had him follow her as they climbed the waterfall and came to the top and both of them looked out over the forest.

''This place is truly amazing.'' He breathed.

''Yeah, and I come here every day.'' She smiles.

A strong gust of wind came almost knocking her off as Artie grabbed her waist pulling her to him and they looked to see he was holding her, and they both lean in without a word and shared a kiss.

Over the week they became close, and they decided to try courting, and Merida went with Artie back to his home and overtime they took turns going too Far, Far Away and living in Scottland.
