I'm not part of this community. I am, however, a huge supporter.

My mom, not so much.

See, she's Christian. She believes that only straight relationships are acceptable. That you need to stay the gender you were born as.

Now, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I get that. But my mom is very vocal about it. To me, at least.

Those little comments she makes really pisses me off.

For example, we were watching TV. A commercial went on. It was about that pill that prevents HIV. I can't remember the name. A man was speaking. My mom speaks up. "Or you could not have sex with guys."

Like, her attitude disgusts me. It's not like people can choose whether to be gay or not. You don't choose who you love.

And part of Christianity is "it is not your place to judge" yet my mom is one of the most judgmental people ever.

If I ever came out as a lesbian or something, (I'm not. I'm still young, things could change, but as for now, I'm straight.) She'd probably disown me or some shit.

Whenever we watch shows together, if theres a gay couple, she makes a gagging noise and looks away. While I'm here, fangirling, cuz they're cute together. I can't tell her that.

I think she's part of the reason I'm so self conscious. Why I always feel like everyone is judging me. She's so judgmental. And she talks shit about people all the time.

I just... nobody is affecting her life personally!

Why is she allowed to have an opinion on someone else's life!?
