I know I haven't finished Chica's Story, but I've been feeling really excited about a new idea lately. I have a couple of chapters written, and I'd like to spend a bit more time revising and writing on before I start publishing, but, in the meantime, if anyone would like to make me a cover, it would save me the trouble and definitely be better than anything I could do. If no one wants to, I'll probably just whip up something really simple.

Either way, I'll share the book's description here, so people can tell me if it sounds like something they might read. Or, you know, whatever. (I'm feeling really nervous about this.)

Pokémon Rewritten:

What if the Pokémon anime had been written differently? What if, instead of staying ten forever, Ash started at thirteen and was allowed to experience real growth? What if his world and the characters in it had depth and realism beyond the scope of a children's tv show? And what if Ash's journey was told, not from his own limited perspective, but from the interweaving stories of the characters surrounding him? Because, as self-centered as he may be, Ash is about to learn that the Pokémon world does not actually revolve around him.

For the cover, I have a rule about not using photographs or art that belong to someone else without that person's permission. For this, one, I'm going to relax that slightly since it's pretty unavoidable that I'm going to be borrowing tons of stuff from the anime anyway. So if you want to use some pictures from that, go ahead. Just stick to pictures that have Ash's clothes from Generation 1 (and his first generation Pokémon, since I don't know yet whether I'm going to work up to beyond that). I'm also going to request that Misty not be on it.

Other than that, I'm leaving it pretty open. All the characters from the anime will be in it, and the first part will follow the storyline closely enough that I think anyone familiar with it could come up with something. I hope.
