So these people are in my chemistry class are now having their fourth argument on whether or not it is possible to be racist against white people.

The answer, in case you are too thick in the skull to know, is YES.

"White people" is a race. It is possible to be racist against any race of people.

If you make a negative assumption about a person based off of their race then THAT IS RACISM!

Their point of view is that

•since white privilege exists nothing you say about white people can count as racism.
and
•White people are way more racist than any other race so it's not really wrong to say things about them.

I get that there's white privilege and that it's a problem. It's a huge problem that needs to be fixed.

But all racism is a problem. Just because one problem is bigger or more common does not stop the fact that there are other problems.

Say on some hypothetical alien planet where, the races consist of Red Blue and Yellow,someone says "Red people are stupid!"

Now they have associated Red people with stupid therefore blue people must be smart. This enforces the idea that it's okay to associate character traits with races. Now the Red people retaliate and say that Blue people are weak. The yellow people get involved and the other races say they can't draw.

Soon everyone is being stereotyped and starts deciding whether or not they want to be friends with or hire someone based on the traits they supposedly have because of the stereotypes. Many red people become unemployed which only enforces the idea they are too stupid to get a job. No one tries to help the yellow children draw because it's assumed they can't learn. For sports no one even pays attention to the blue players because they're weak. Because no one ever gets picked for these things they notice and start thinking the stereotypes are true and just learn to live with it. They make stupid jokes about it. Blue people only protest when someone says something about blue people. Red people only protest when someone says something about red people. Yellow people only protest when someone says something about yellow people.

That is my analogy (I'm hoping it makes sense).

If you encourage racial stereotyping you are encouraging all racism so stop it because it's bad.

And you know what?

I'm really done with the whole white people are racist thing.

I'm really tired of being in the group where the bad guys are. I'm not racist but I get lumped in with those who are because I am white. Oh and I'm from Texas which is one of those "racist" confederate states. You realize the civil war wasn't actually over slavery right? Like if enough people ask about it I will make a chapter about the civil war. And I'm Christian which means my religion persecuted other religions and considers homosexuality a sin. And I'm in America which invades all the other countries business and kills them. And I'm not straight but yknow asexual just means you're a straight person trying to be a special snowflake. I'm cisgender so that probably means I'm transphobic. I mean at least I'm not a boy because that would mean I'm sexist too!

I'm just tired of all the drama. Too much drama. I'm not done talking about the drama because I need to get the drama outta my system. More drama later.
