Don't you hate it when people update a book with a chapter only apologizing for the fact they haven't been writing.

It's supposed to be a story.

Not 75% story and 25% big bold chapters labeled 'A/N' or 'sorry'.

What's even worse is when they label it 'update'.

I feel like it's just taunting me.

UPDATE?!? UPDATE?!? THIS IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF AN WHAT THAT ACTUALLY IS!!

I really could not care less if you have too much homework to cope with the story right now, or you just forgot, or you are going to get to it as soon as possible, just update the dam thing and put your apology note at the end of the chapter.

And what's even worse is when somebody makes multiple 'I'm sorry I'll update soon' chapters in a row. We get it. I know I'm behind on some of my books but I'm not going to write a chapter about that and why it happened! I'm going to write some story and I'm going to explain myself at the end of the chapter.

And authors notes at the end of the chapter should not exceed the length of the content of the chapter because that means you have failed as a writer and your wasting my time because of it.

This chapter is not specifically aimed at any of you I just end up ranting in the second person. Sorry. Love you.

I would really rather confusion as to why you haven't updated than a split second of false hope because I think you have.

Plus there will be people reading the story long after you wrote that and they don't want an interruption in the story, apologizing for a long hiatus they didn't even suffer through.

I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO DESTIEL OKAY?!!?! IS THAT SO DIFFICULT?!?!

Write a decent fic with no I'm sorry I haven't updated updates.
