Umbrella

Ranboo sat down on the soggy ground, watching the transparent raindrops collide with the ground, creating small ripples to occur in puddles that had formed on the ground.

You see, the enderman hybrid had done something in his 'enderwalk' as he likes to call it. From what hes gathered, he.... did something bad. He thinks he blew up a part of Puffys house. He doesn't want to think he did it but he was right next to the explosion when it happened. He didn't have much time to react as his brain made him run away from the small hole.

He didn't want to stick around and find out what would happen if he did stay there. The teen had ran for a while, his tail flicking behind him in panic, before eventually coming to the docks that Tubbo had made and sat on the bottom of a random houses stairs as all of them were locked. It inevitably had started to rain, but that didn't make the enderman hybrid move under shelter.

As time went on, the rain had started to get heavy but that didn't make the tall teen flinch. He just took the brunt of the rain, refusing the urge to scratch his skin, no matter how tempting it was. Instead of him going under cover, he went further out into the rain, soon finding himself sitting in the middle of the docks with the rain falling down hard all around him.

He felt like he deserved this, the small amounts of pain and the ever growing temptation of scratching his skin. He had done a lot of bad things after all, he thinks at least. There was proof that he had done bad things despite how much he fought the thought of him doing such despicable actions.

He tried clearing his thoughts of those dreaded memories, deciding to listen to the intense pitter patter of rain against the wood and water in hopes of ridding his head of what he had been thinking of previously.

He sat among the wet liquid, his tail curled around him, watching as it bounced against the wood and water. The water kept on moving as the rain fell, seemingly like the sea on a stormy day. The waves crashing against eachother, the sea water raising and lowering to heights unimaginable. It made him feel calm yet unsettled at the same time. I guess the thought of being trapped in something like that scares him, although he is aware something like that will never happen.

The crystal clear water drenched the enderman hybrids clothing, his once fluffy hair now wet and stuck to his head.

His head was lowered to the ground in shame, bad thoughts quickly starting to swarm his head. He raised his hands to the sides of his head, his fingers running through his soggy hair; quickly grasping small chunks in each of his palms, tiny amounts of pain spiking through his body at the touch.

Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it!!!!

His thoughts were cut short when he no longer felt the rain hitting his body, causing him to look up to only be met with the soft gaze of Ghostbur holding a black umbrella above him in the mans left hand while a yellow umbrella occupied his right which was held above the ghost.

The ghost gestured for Ranboo to take the umbrella, to which the hybrid did hesitantly before the deceased man gently grabbed the enderman hybrids other hand, making the tall boy get up from his place on the ground while also making the ghosts hand melt slightly at the water on the hybrids hand before slowly pulling him to a bench that had water leaking onto it, though mostly dry. He gently pushed Ranboo to sit on a dry spot of the bench, the boys tail coming to rest at his side while the deceased man hovered above a part of the bench next to him, umbrellas still raised above the two.

The pair sat in silence for a moment, both of them gazing out across the docks, listening to rain hit their umbrellas and the rain disturbing the water.

"Why are you sad Ranboo?" Ghostbur asked, looking over at the tall hybrid.

The question caught the boy off guard, causing him to look at the floating man wide eyed.

"Well- um.... I don't know myself really.... I just feel like I've done some really bad things ya know? I don't know what I've done because I don't remember what I did, its infuriating and I don't know why....." Ranboo explained, the boys gaze coming to rest on his hands as his hands clenched into tight fists at the mention of his memory loss interfering with his actions.

"Ya, I know how that feels. The constant nag in your brain telling you that you did something but you just don't remember." Ghostbur muttered, moving a bit closer to Ranboo, moving one of his hands to rest on the hybrids arm in an attempt at comfort despite how it pained him.

This made the enderman hybrid look up at the amnesiac with mild curiosity, nodding his head slightly in agreement.

Ghostbur continued, "I apparently blew up an entire nation when I was Alivebur but I somehow forgot I even did that..." he finished, his voice becoming croaky and raspy at the mention of one of his past mistakes, making him pull out a bit of blue he had on him.

"Here, have some blue, it'll make you feel better!" Ghostbur offered, holding out some spare blue that he had on him to the enderman hybrid.

Ranboo looked at the blue curiously before nodding his head slightly and taking the blue from the others hand, inspecting it cautiously.

"Blue takes away your sadness, it turns to a dark blue or blackish grey when the sadness is soaked up and you can just throw it away and forget it ever existed!" Ghostbur explained enthusiastically, showing Ranboo what he meant by that when the blue turned dark blue before chucking it into the sea.

"The thing that I love the best about it is that its biodegradable so it doesn't linger around forever!" Ghostbur confirmed, his legs swinging below in happiness.

Ranboo hummed. Watching as his blue turned to a dark black very quickly. He felt happier to say the least but he could still feel the looming presence of sadness in his being but didn't want to think too long on the emotion.

The enderman hybrid leaned back against the carefully hand crafted bench, not nearly as stressed as he once was but more......neutral, I guess you could say.

"How do you do it?" Ranboo asked, catching the older mans attention.

"Do what?" Ghostbur asked, looking towards the enderman hybrid curiously.

"How do you stay so happy and care free all the time? Its like- it's like you don't even acknowledge that bad things are happening. How do you do it?" Ranboo repeated, explaining what he had asked to the man.

"If I'm being honest, I don't know myself. All I know is that I remember happy things from when I was Alivebur and I think that applies to what is happening in the here and now....." Ghostbur suggested, his eyes glazing over slightly as he looked out infront of him, watching the rain fall in thought.

"Wow.... you're lucky then, I forget the bad things I've done yet I have a hunch that I'm the one that committed them as I'm constantly reminded something bad has happened. It's like an endless cycle of suffering that has no end to it." Ranboo mumbled sadly, his tone of voice growing quieter and more depressing with each word falling out of his mouth.

Ghostbur stayed quiet, not knowing how to respond to the uncertain hybrid. Instead opting to move closer to the wet boy and rest his head on his shoulder, surprising the teen with the sudden act of what the tall teen could only assume to be comfort.

"You aren't alone in this, I hope you know that....." Ghostbur muttered quietly, holding his umbrella just under Ranboos black one.

Ranboo didn't know how to respond to that. He sighed before resting his soggy head on Ghostburs head because height difference.

"I know... thank you ghostbur..." Ranboo uttered, gazing out across the falling rain, his tail subconsciously curling around ghostburs waist in what the deceased man could only assume to make him stay there with him.

"Anytime Ranboo, anytime at all..."
