Safety and promises
Quackity was livid. You see, he had recently found out what Ranboo had done, and by that, he means betraying him and everyone in L'Manburg. As soon as he found out, Quackity immediately consulted Tubbo and politely demanded that they execute Ranboo for betraying their nation.
But Tubbo didn't like that idea all too much. The bee loving boy defended the enderman hybrid, saying that they would be doing the same thing that had happened to him under another president's administration and that it would be treason. The argument went on for a couple minutes, clearly having no end to it, until the short male stomped off, not wanting to say anything he would regret.
~~~~~~~~~~~small timeskip~~~~~~~~~
An hour had passed already, although to Quackity it felt like two minutes. He had been contemplating what he could do to get rid of the tall boy as he was aware that Tubbo and everyone else wouldn't be willing to help him. He had been thinking long and hard and just like that, an idea flickered into his head.
Water.
If you think about it, it was ingenious. Ranboo was an enderman hybrid and enderman hated water. He knew it would hurt the boy as Ranboo had confirmed it hurt after a while without armour on. And as they were in L'Manburg, everyone had to take off their armour as it was not permitted to wear armour while in the nation. The plan was perfect. He just had to sneak up behind Ranboo without getting noticed.
Quackity giggled sadistically, a demonic grin creeping its ways onto his lips before whipping a bucket out of his inventory and slowly walking towards the nearest source of water; his giggles being bounced around his being as he thought about the screams that will echo from the tall boy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~time skip~~~~~~~~~~~
Laughs and chattering filled the air as the bustling people of the smp talked to eachother, all of them smiling, happy there were no conflicts for once. The festival was in full swing! Everyone looked so happy and care free. That was everyone apart from Tubbo.
He was still a bit on edge after the small argument he had with Quackity. It unsettled him to even think about what the short male had planned to do to the enderman hybrid. The brown haired boy was off to the side of the festival, not wanting to alarm anyone of his gloomy state. He reflected on the time he was executed, all the piercing eyes glaring at him and Techno. It was terrifying if he was being honest.
He still remembers the sadistic grin that Schlatt wore and that evil glint in his eyes, it sent a shiver up his spine just thinking about it. He remembered the look Techno wore when he loaded up his crossbow with a firework. Tubbo didn't blame the piglin hybrid for shooting him, he probably would've done it as well, especially if he was under the amount of pressure Techno was under in those moments. The protests of his friends in the crowd still rang in his ears despite it being a couple months since the incident happened.
Tubbo was leaning against a building close by to the festival but far away enough for him to be in silence. He had hoped that no one would see him but he was ever so wrong. Ranboo had spotted the young president a bit far away from all the laughter and cheers, he wondered what was wrong and why his friend looked so dreary.
He politely excused himself from the conversation he had been holding with a few of his friends and slowly started walking over to the semi-isolated boy in hopes of finding out what was wrong.
"Tubbo? What're you doing over here? Isn't the party over there?" Tubbo jumped slightly at the sudden voice, his head whipping in the direction of the sound tense but quickly relaxed when he realized it was just Ranboo.
"Hi Ranboo. Ya, I'm aware, I just- I have this weird feeling of de ja vu and it's sort of freaking me out. Sorry if I worried you" Tubbo stated, scenes of the argument still fresh in his mind.
"Oh ok, I just wanted to make sure you were ok, that's all. You didn't worry me, just mild concern. And by the way, you can always come talk to me if you want Tubbo, I'm always willing to listen" Ranboo smiled, looking down at the smaller boy.
"I know I know, I just don't want to burden anyone with my problems..." Tubbo trailed off slightly, looking away from the taller hybrid.
Ranboo sighed and looked down at the young president, placing a firm hand on his shoulder before getting down to his height, making sure they didn't make eye contact of course. "Tubbo, your problems are never a burden. As your friend, I hold the responsibility of looking out for you like you do Tommy, Fundy, Niki and everyone else. That also means I'm willing to listen to you and help you with anything anything that is bothering you, do you understand?" Ranboo questioned, looking just behind the older boy to make sure they don't make eye contact.
"I understand, I promise I'll come to you if I have anything troubling me." Tubbo reassured, fiddling with his fingers as he spoke.
Ranboo smiled slightly, still a bit unsure of the answer he was given, lifting his hand off of the boys shoulder. "Alright, but please, if you aren't going to come to me, go to someone, anyone. I don't want you suffering in silence" Ranboo mumbled, getting a firm nod in response.
Satisfied with his answer, he sent the dark brown haired boy a fond glance before walking back to the party, yelling a last few words. "Enjoy yourself Tubbo! This is a festival, no?" And with that, the enderman hybrid disappeared into the small crowd of people, leaving the young president to his thoughts.
Tubbo remained in his thoughts for a while, pondering over what the tall boy had said. 'Y'know what? Ranboos right, I shouldn't be worrying right now, I should be having fun. I've deserved it' and with that thought, Tubbo walked into the small crowd, immediatly getting into a conversation with Puffy about crops, but remembered to go thank Ranboo later for the words of reassurance.
As Ranboo walked through the bustling crowd, questions started popping into his head, questions related to what Tubbo was so worried about. This was a festival full of happiness and laughter, what could ever go wrong at a festival?
As the tall teen walked, he didn't realise he had walked out of the small festival and around the out skirts of L'Manburg, a hand on his chin in thought with his tail flicking behind him every now and then.
Why had Tubbo been so worried? Theres nothing to worry about, everyone is happy, why should there be a problem? He thought, wandering further away from the festival.
Ranboo had been walking around for about half an hour now and he had yet to realize this. He had been in deep thought the entire time, but unbeknownst to him, Quackity had been trailing behind him like a tiger stalking its prey, his eyes full of bloodlust and anger with hints of hesitancy and minor confusion.
The enderman hybrid had finally come to a halt at the bench Tubbo and Tommy usually sat on, placing a gentle hand on the hand crafted wood. It felt so smooth yet bumpy beneath his figure tips, as if every small imperfection had it's own story to tell.
He had always wondered what was so special about it, the bench he meant, and why it held such a deep meaning to the dynamic duo. Was it because they were the ones sitting on it? Was it a safe place? Or was it just because they had the best view on the smp? He didn't know.
He assumed it was for all those reasons as he wasn't sure if any of his assumptions were wrong. The view Ranboo was almost certain was a reason why the two boys sat there. It was breathtaking after all. How all the colours blended together, creating this beautiful gradient of colours. He could almost describe it like how you would paint on a canvas with water colours, all of the variety just splattered onto its blank base at random, yet, it looked so right.
He knew this as he had once sat on the bench and looked across the smp and gazed at the sun set for while. It was really peaceful. He noted in his book to come back here again sometime as it really helped clear his mind, giving him room to breath.
As he stood next to the bench, the soft breeze flowing through his fluffy hair, he hadn't noticed Quackity slowly creeping up behind him, a malicious grin spread on his lips with a water bucket in hand. The small male tip-toed up to the tall boy as silently as he could, hoping he isn't heard as he muffled his giggles.
He raised the bucket filled with the crystal like liquid above his head, his eyes gleaming with evil intent.
Ranboos ear twitched and out of curiousity, he turned his head sideways a bit, hoping to find the source of the strange noise only to be met with a face full of water.
He screamed. Loud.
He immediately collapsed to the ground, holding his face in his hands, frantically trying to get rid of the itching sensation on his face. All the while, Quackity just stood there laughing like a maniac, a sick and twisted smile getting pulled onto his lips.
Ranboo was screaming out in pain, using his clothing to get rid of the clear liquid but it only seemed to make it worse. He just wanted all the pain to stop and for the small males laughs to stop echoing in his ears. He just wanted it to all stop.
A minute had passed and Quackity had calmed down and was now watching the tall teen frantically scratch and dry his face. Said teen had to keep on mentally scolding himself whenever he was about scratch his face because he knew it would just cause more itching which led to more pain.
The short male pulled out an axe and slowly walked up to the distracted individual, an evil look clear in his eyes. He stood infront of the boy with his axe raised above his head.
"Say goodbye traitor~" Quackity giggled, causing the enderman hybrid to look up, fear quickly covering his features. He braced for the impact, waiting for the blade to pierce his skin. But instead, was met with a small 'ting.'
The sound caused the hybrid to look up, his eyes going wide as he gazed at the new person infront of him, a blood red cape covering the back of their figure.
'Technoblade' Ranboo thought, relief slowly starting to cross the hybrids face.
He looked to his left, finding ghostbur beside him, holding a towel up to the tall teen to which he gratefully took and started drying himself off. As he rubbed the wet substance off his skin, he felt small circles get rubbed on his back. The boy looked up and saw none other than the winged man himself, Phil.
Phil held a warm smile, his posture relaxed and aura comforting, he also had his wings covering the three of them, probably to avoid the teen from seeing what Techno was doing to Quackity. Ranboo leaned into the touch slightly, thankful for the attempt at comfort.
He continued to dry his face and had started to listen to the rambling Ghostbur had started to speak, nodding along and laughing at the jokes he made with Phil chipping in every now and then. They were distracting him from the noise of what the piglin hybrid had been creating.
Techno slashes his sword at Quackity, the short male narrowly missing the fatal blow, stumbling backwards at the unpredicted move. The piglin hybrid slowly trundled forward, his sword getting dragged along the soft but sturdy grass.
As he walked, something slowly manifested beside him, small particles slowly starting to outline someone who had fallen long before.
"Schlatt!?!?" Quackity yelled, disbelief crossing the short males face.
"Indeed it is. What have you been doing these past few months?" The being now identified as Schlatt, or Glatt if you wanted to use his actual name, (but Quackity didn't know that) asked, his figure starting to slowly get filled in by more particles, showing that he was slowly stumbling forward towards Quackity.
"What- how are you here!? Didn't you die!?" Quackity questioned, his words slowly turning to ones of anger.
"I was summoned, and I shall do what I was summoned to do...." Glatt answered simply, walking along side the piglin hybrid.
"And what were you summoned to-" Quackity didn't get the chance to finish his sentence as he was pushed to the ground harshly, the blood gods figure looming eerily over the frightened man.
"I made a promise to Ranboo, and I'm not one to make promises. But I swore I wouldn't let anyone hurt him. And you hurt him......." Techno muttered, bringing his swords tip to rest on the neck of the man beneath him.
"Do you want to know what I said? The exact words I said to Ranboo?" Techno questioned, pushing his sharp blade further into the neck of the smaller male.
Quackity gulped, his whole body starting to shake slightly at the thought of what the blood god might do to him. He nodded his head hesitantly.
"I said, 'I won't let anyone hurt you, and I will do terrible things to those who do and, that's a promise.' Do you want to know what that entails?" Techno mumbled, his tone threateningly calm, it being laced with hidden evil intent.
Quackity didn't respond, already knowing what was coming.
"No? Alright.... then let me do a demonstration, maybe Schlatt would like to help in doing it as well" Techno uttered, glaring at the man under him while holding out an extra sword with his free hand, the handle facing the deceased ram hybrid.
"Gladly..." Glatt uttered, gripping the handle firmly and slowly hobbled over to the frightened man trapped under the intimidating blood gods stare.
Quackity stared in fear at the approaching hybrid, gripping the ground beneath him with a firm hold.
"S-Schlatt!! H-hey!! If you c-could not do w-what you w-were summoned t-to do??" Quackity stuttered, now paralysed under the menacing gaze of the piglin hybrid.
Glatt didn't respond, instead opting to stay silent to inflict more fear into the already pale faced Mexican.
"S-Schlatt! Buddy, s-surely you wouldn't h-hurt me, r-right? A-afterall, we d-did a bunch o-of things together. D-don't you remember?" Quackity reasoned desperately, seemingly pleading with the older man.
"We did despicable things together and I want to repent from what I've done, that's why I'm here. You need to die, you have made numerous attempts at killing people. Sure, I did things like that as well but I was under the impression that I was untouchable, immortal even, because of all the power I had been given, so in a sense, I had an excuse. You however, have no excuse. You just want people to listen but you can't do that if you inflict fear, you need to be kind, not forceful." Glatt explained firmly, now standing to the left side of the frightened individual, raising the sword over his head, ready to stab it through the shorter male.
"I hope you learn your lesson Quackity." And with those words spoke, The ram hybrid plunged the sword through the chest of the beanie wearing male, killing him instantly.
He slowly pulled the now blood covered sword from the deceased male, slowly watching as the mans body turned into a pile of dust along with a pile of the mans stuff appearing in his spot; a message soon turning up in chat.
Quackity was slain by Glatt using [the orphan obliterator]
Glatt turned to look at the piglin hybrid, holding the bloodied sword out, a firm nod soon following. Techno grabbed the sword and nodded back before both of them turned their attention back to the small half sphere, its exterior being made of fluffy and soft wings.
The two walked up to the small sphere, Techno tapping on the wings lightly three times, making the wings shrink until they were behind the older male who owned them; underneath them, revealing three people, one of them being Phil.
Ghostbur looked up before slowly floating up to Glatt's side, the two exchanging a glance before turning to look at the trio infront of them silently.
The blood god slowly knelt down infront of the enderman hybrid, slowly pulled the boy into a gentle hug. Ranboo jumped slightly at the sudden touch of the older man but immediately relaxed when he realised it was just Techno.
The teen hesitantly hugged the other back, his face resting in the fur of the cape the piglin hybrid wore which settled over the body of the strong hybrid. They all sat in silence for a few moments, no one wanting to break the silence. Phil sitting down beside the two, a soft smile on his face.
Techno spoke up, "are you ok, Ranboo?" He asked, pulling away from the hug slightly to look at the young boy, glancing over the small marks that had caused small burns.
"I'm ok, a little hurt by the water but I'm fine otherwise. Thanks Techno" Ranboo replied, hugging the piglin hybrid again in gratitude.
Techno chuckled lightly, wrapping the tall teen in his cape with his arms wrapped around the boy underneath.
"Its no problem, I made a promise afterall."
