Provoked

Ranboo was walking around the SMP today, looking across the different structures created by the other members. He had decided he was going to actually take some time for himself for once.

The teen had been getting annoyed at the amount of times he had been glossed over by other people when in reality, he has been one of the main people behind it all. He was sick of it. So, he decided to go on a small stroll to try and clear his head.

It had worked its magic and the tall hybrid had forgotten about what was worrying him and had a small smile plastered on his face, his posture relaxed and sturdy.

He had wondered close to his panic room without noticing and, unfortunately for him, Dream was in the area. The green hooded man was able to spot the enderman hybrid and he almost laughed at how ironic the situation was.

An idea popped into the masked mans head, causing a small smirk to wonder onto his lips. He quietly walked up to the tall teen without said teen noticing.

"Hi Ranboo!" Dream cheered happily, causing the boy to jump slightly and turn around to look for the source of the voice, quickly finding out who said hi and groaned internally.

"What do you want Dream?" Ranboo asked harshly, cringing slightly at the name that rolled off his tongue.

"Oh nothing much, just saw you in the area and wanted to say hi and see how you're doing." Dream stated, looking at Ranboos eyes on 'accident.'

Ranboo looked away from the man as the masked man had looked at him, specifically in his eyes.

"I'm doing fine, thanks. And could you not?" Ranboo sneered, looking in a different direction, growing a bit agitated from the small amount of eye contact the other was making with him. His tail slowly swaying behind him.

"Could I not what?" Dream teased playfully, going around the boy to look at his face again, a small grin growing on his lips.

"You know what you're doing and I would kindly ask if you could quit it" Ranboo asked, gritting his teeth at the others continued pestering, looking in the other direction.

"Oh? But I don't know what I'm doing wrong? Could you perhaps look at me and tell me what I'm doing wrong?" Dream teased menacingly, going to look at Ranboos eyes once again.

Ranboo clenched his fists into tight balls, refusing the urge to lunge at the sadistic man. Another person was close by and had heard the small commotion and seeked the source of the voices. He quickly found them and ducked behind a small house, watching the scene unfold from a distance.

"Dream, I'm not going to ask again, stop looking at my face. You know what you're getting yourself into...." Ranboo threatened, emitting a low growl by accident; his body producing small amounts of purple particles over time.

"Hm? I couldn't hear that. Would you like to repeat?" Dream challenged cockily, getting in Ranboos face, proceeding to make direct eye contact.

The enderman hybrid had enough. His jaw unhinged and an ear piercing shriek erupted from his throat, causing Dream and the person hiding to cover their ears in hopes of blocking out the awful noise. Ranboo let his instincts take over and he tackled the distracted man to the ground, they tussled on the floor for a bit before the tall hybrid was on top of the masked man; pinning the mans arms down with his arms to the sides of his head, the teens tail swishing behind him angrily. Ranboo swiftly moved one of his hands to hold the mans two arms, his jaw still unhinged.

He raised his now free clawed hand into the air, his eyes glaring daggers at the now frightened man.

But a gentle hand to his wrist stopped him from lashing down on the trapped man. Ranboo turned his gaze to the hand holding his wrist and followed the arm to the person holding him, his glare immediately softening once it landed on the older hybrid, more commonly known as Phil.

The winged hybrid held a gentle but firm smile on his face, making Ranboo calm down a bit, his once heavy breathing now turning into small pants, the purple particles once surrounding him now dissipating into nothing as well as his tail coming to rest limply behind him. The enderman hybrid looked at his hand, glancing at his nails which had grown slightly before turning his gaze onto the man underneath him.

A small amount of anger rumbled in his chest at the sight of the man but quickly remembered Phil was holding his arm. He knew he couldn't hurt the green hooded man while the older hybrid was around, despite how much they both wanted to hurt him.

His head hung low as his body slowly relaxed, his grip on the masked mans arms loosening dramatically. Ranboo took one last glance at the father figure still holding his wrist before subconsciously teleporting away, landing next to a river surrounded by luscious green trees.

Phil and Dream were left in silence, Dream still on the ground in shock. The masked man shakily brought his arms to his face, glancing over the damage dealt. His arms were bleeding and had bruise marks where the tall teen had gripped them. He was a bit surprised by the fact that he was bleeding as he hadn't felt anything penetrate his skin. But he shook it off as his adrenaline numbing the pain.

Phil looked down at injured man, his gaze turning cold and dangerous.

"Consider that a warning Dream, next time you won't be so lucky...." Phil warned, his wings shifting slightly behind him, getting ready to take off.

"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to look for Ranboo. The poor boys probably freaked...." Phil muttered the last part to himself, taking one last glance at the stunned man before taking off and into the sky, looking over the land in hopes of finding the enderman hybrid.

Meanwhile with Ranboo, he had sat on a nearby log, looking at the blood on his hands. The teen didn't know what to think, did he really just do that? Why? Questions swirled around in his head, each one coming quicker than the last.

'I'm a monster...' The hybrid thought, shifting his gaze from his bloodied hands to the stream in front of him. He could see the rays of sun weaving through the trees and bouncing off the surface of the crystal-like water. There were different types of fish swimming in the river, all of them varying in size, shape and colour.

The slight rustle of leaves surrounded the area, a bit of wind picking up and blowing through his black and white hair causing the teen to close his eyes for a moment before opening them again, calmer than he was before.

Ranboo slowly crept closer to the rivers edge, soon kneeling comfortably at its side, his tail curling around his knees tenderly, the tip of his tail coming to rest at his side. He let out a small breath before gently placing his hands in the water to get the blood of them. The feeling of water against his skin felt cold but also hot, it itched and the tall teen refused the urge to start scratching his itchy skin as he was aware he wouldn't be able to stop once he started.

He quickly finished washing off the red substance from his hands and almost frantically dried his hands against his clothing, ridding his hands of the itching.

The boy let out a soft sigh before peering over the edge of the river, looking at his reflection. He looked so...... dead, there was no other way to describe it. He looked so exhausted and had dark circles under his eyes. He also looked fairly malnourished but he was sure he had been eating the right amount every day. He also still had his jaw unhinged so he quickly used his hand to push his jaw up to his head, it resting back in its place comfortably. The boy hit the water, unsettling the clear liquid.

The tall hybrid rubbed his hand against his clothing as he backed away from the river, his back resting against a log with his tail curling around him lightly. He didn't want to see the face of a monster...

The boy sat in silence for a few minutes, the only sounds he could hear being the slight chirping of birds and the light rustle of leaves. His silence was disturbed however by the flapping of wings causing the boy to whip his head in the direction of the noise, only to be met with the face of Phil.

Ranboo scrambled to his feet hurriedly, taking a few steps back away from the older hybrid. Phil held a small smile, his wings folded neatly behind himself with his hands to his sides. His smile faltered for a moment at the sight of the wary boy but it quickly turned into a warm and comforting smile, his gaze softening along with it.

"What are you doing here Phil....?" Ranboo uttered, his tail wrapping around his legs slightly.

"I was looking for you, I wanted to see how you were doing after that.....incident" Phil responded, the recent events flashing through his mind for a second as he stepped forward.

Ranboo stepped back. "Please don't come any closer, I don't want to hurt you...." the enderman hybrid whispered, looking at his clawed hands for a second before bringing them to his chest.

"I know you aren't going to hurt me, because I trust you. If you were to hurt me, you would've done it already" Phil spoke softly, taking a step with every word which flew from his mouth.

"But you saw what I did! I don't want that happening to you" Ranboo exclaimed, taking a step back, uncertainty written on his face.

"Its not going to happen to me if I don't do what Dream did, it's simple really" Phil chuckled, walking towards the tall individual.

"I just don't want to lose you too...." Ranboo muttered, bringing his hands down and resting a hand on his arm.

The winged hybrid smiled. "You aren't going to lose me any time soon Ranboo, I can assure you that" Phil uttered, going up to hug the tall hybrid, wrapping his wings around him as he did so.

The enderman hybrid raised his arms up for a moment, unsure if he should accept the kind gesture. He contemplated his actions for a minute before crouching down slightly and returning the hug, burying his head in the crook of the elders neck, his tail swaying behind him gently.

The older hybrid slowly started to rub small circles on the tall teens back, whispering comforting nothings into the boys ears.

Ranboo relaxed into the elders embrace, his worries slowly slipping away until nothing is left.

He finally felt at peace
