~Chapter 2~

You opened your eyes slowly and groaned. A small headache shook your head as you roll over and fell on the floor. You squeaked as you hit the floor and wince as a cut opened up. Footsteps got louder as they approached you and a hand appeared in front of your eyes.

You took it gratefully and stood steadily. You remembered everything but you were trying to push it away. Blinking a few times, you cleared your vision and looked at your helper. Your heart leapt as you saw Sans faced. Wrapping your arms around him, you burrowed your face into his chest.

"Blueberry!" You yelled, squeezing the skeleton.

Did he get taller? Since when were you shorter than him? You realized your mistake and released the monster. You took a better look at him from a few feet away and blushed with confirmation. The skeleton that helped you up was not your sweet, blue friend... but instead a foreign and new skeleton.

He wore the same beige clothing with his arsenal of paint tubes strapped to his chest. A greenish-blue sweater was tied around his waist and a ginormous paintbrush was strapped to his back. Black ink splatters littered his bones and clothes. You bowed your head and apologized.

"I'm sorry Ink, I thought you were my Sans." You muttered.

"It's fine (Y/N), you miss your friend. You can't help that." Ink blushed and you gasped a little.

"What?" He asked, the blush spreading.

You pointed to your cheeks and averted your gaze, feeling even more guilty.

"You're cheekbones are rainbows." You said quietly.

"Oh," he said and raised a hand towards his face. "I thought I had paint on my face or something."

You snickered. "Well you do but it kinda makes sense considering your look."

He chuckled and put a hand behind his skull. "Heh, I guess so."

"(Y/N)?!"

You looked towards the door and a flying child knocked you over. You looked down at the child and laughed, patting her hair.

"Chara! You won't believe how much I missed you." You mused, pulling the child into a tight hug.

"I heard a thump and I thought you got hurt! Where have you been? Where's Sans? Why is your skin all cut up?"

You put your hands up in surrender. "Slow down Chara! I just woke up!" You sighed.

Chara got off of you and pulled a chocolate kiss from her pocket, waiting patiently. Ink put a hand on your shoulder and you turned towards him.

"You might wanna give (Y/N) some time. Traveling from dimensions is a huge stress on most people's bodies, not to mention having your memories almost wiped."

You waved you hand submissively. "I'm fine Ink. It's just a headache." You smiled. "Okay Chara, go get Paps and I'll answer your questions."

Chara jumped up and ran from the room with a nod. You got back on to the couch and patted the seat next to you, looking at Ink. He shook his head.

"I'll stay standing. I'm not one to stay still." He said.

You furrowed your brows and looked at him. "You're not one to stay still? Like you need be doing something at all times?"

He nodded. You pursed your lips. "When do you relax?"

"When I'm painting." He said curtly.

"What about when you're not painting? Don't you ever just want to lay on a couch and be lazy?"

He shook his head. "Though it sounds nice sometimes, I've got a really big job. Mostly it consists of recreating AU's and tracking down Error. Can't say it's boring though. Who else can say they've traveled through dimensions before? I mean, that's a bit interesting enough to keep me off my ass."

"Well technically, both Blueberry and I can say that now, as well as Error."

Ink fell silent a moment before laughing. "Yeah! I guess so. Sorry (Y/N), I guess I'm not used to talking to a human that's been through more than one dimension."

You laughed awkwardly to myself. "Well, I have been told I'm more monster than human before. And these scars probably won't help any, huh?"

Averting your gaze, you started to count the scars on your legs. They seemed to grow from your legs like moss. Absent-mindedly you stroked the marks, both disgusted by them and fascinated you had the courage to inflict them. You could hear as Ink drew closer to you but you kept your gaze down.

"Hey (Y/N), look at me." He said quietly.

You obeyed, but still kept your gaze away from his eyes.

"At me (Y/N), I know the wall right past my head is quite interesting but that's not me." He teased.

You blushed and brushed the hair away from your face. You looked into his mismatched eyes and waited. He stared back at you a moment before smiling.

"You have the most beautiful eyes." He complimented. "They remind me of jewels."

You snickered, dropping your eyes.
"It's hard to feel beautiful when you lowered yourself to such a hideous manner." You muttered.

Not realizing you had said it out loud, you clasped a hand over your mouth.
"Sorry Ink! You weren't supposed to hear that."

He blushed rainbow again but he smiled. "I'm glad I did." He chirped.

The couch sank next to you and looked over to see him sitting. He looked at you and put out a hand. "May I see your arm?" He asked.

"My arm?" You asked.

You glanced down at your injured arm, but offered it all the same. Ink smiled as you displayed your trust and took it gingerly, twisting your palm upward and exposing your scars.

"You remember how I said I create the AUs?" He asked.

"Well yeah, you only said it a few moments ago." You retorted.

"I guess it was only a few minutes ago." He chuckled. "Well, since I have that amount of power, I can also form matter to a degree and reverse certain things by painting over them."

You raised a brow. "Okay, so why do you want my arm?"

He removed a paintbrush from his sash and dipped it into a select few colors.

"Just watch." He said quietly, putting the brush to your skin.

With a few strokes be covered the cuts completely. Mixing a shade almost undetectably more blue, he recreated your veins and small details in that section of skin.

Finally he blew on his work and held it away from him. "There you go, all fixed."

You laughed and pulled the arm against you.

"Thanks Ink, it looks great but, I don't think you'll have time to repaint me every morning."

He shook his head. "You see (Y/N), this is one of my abilities. I reshaped the matter on your arm so it reverted to its original way."

After seeing your confused looked, he sighed. "I remade your arm." He simplified.

Your eyes widened and you pressed a finger against your arm. Rubbing it aggressively with your thumb, you found that it simply moved with the rest of your flesh.

"Wow! Ink, this is awesome!" You mused.

His face broke into a proud smile as he spun his paintbrush around his fingers.

"I know." He boasted.

You elbowed him playfully. "Ever heard of modesty?"

"What's the use in denying my awesomeness?"

You giggled. "You're a dork." You spat.

He smiled back at you. A few seconds later, Chara's voice called you away. You motioned for just a second and followed her call.

Just beyond the door, Chara pulled you aside, jumping giddily. She pulled you down harshly and whispered to you.

"You like him!" She squealed in a quiet manner.

Blushing, you shook your head. "Seriously Chara?! I met him yesterday!"

"Haven't you heard of love at first sight?"

"Haven't you heard of princess disorder?" You countered.

Her raised brow answered the question. You sighed and explained.

"Princess disorder is when one person saves another from an extreme situation. The person saved might feel like they 'love' their savior afterwords because of a chemical reaction that was released during the situation. I can't know if I actually like him until I get to know him."

Chara squealed again. "So you do like him!"

You groaned. "I don't know if I do!" You whined.

"(Y/N) likes someone?"

You turned and saw Paps looked at the two of you, a cigarette teeth his teeth. Still red-faced, you yanked the cigarette from his teeth and threw it to the ground, stomping it out.

"I don't know right now!" You exclaimed.

"Don't know what?"

Ink had now joined the three of you. Your blush deepening, you released a roar of frustration. You stomped towards the door. Nothing annoyed you more than when Chara tried to set you up with someone. You grabbed a random scarf from the shelf and shouldered one of Paps jackets.

"I'm going to Muffet's! Don't come looking for me." You hissed, closing the door behind you.

Your cheeks were painted red as you changed course, heading towards Waterfalls instead of Muffet's burger joint. You were heading to your secret spot to cool off. Taking a sharp turn on the lit path around Flowey's shop, you jumped into the knee high water for a moment. You waded a long way off from the path until encountering another mushroom lit.

You tapped it and a web of forgotten paths lit up. Pulling yourself back on to the beaten path, you jogged the rest of the way to your special spot.

Your special spot was a bit of a mess. One of the small waterfalls hid a good sized cave. Because it was so close to the bottom, human junk washed down that far. A lot of the stuff you kept for your hangout was old, broken furniture and soaked books. You pulled up the hood and walked through the waterfall quickly, resurfacing in your hangout.

A old couch sagged in the farthest part of the cave, a few stolen blankets littered around it. Piles of books sat around it. The walls of the cave were pasted with old drawings you had hung. Heaving an annoyed breath, you made a beeline for your couch and flopped onto it dramatically. You wrapped yourself in the blankets and snatched up a book.

Not bothering to check the title, you began to read it. Soon you realized it was the Odyssey. When you were younger you had been fascinated with Greek Mythology. In fact, many of your drawings centered around the mythical beings.

Your thoughts lolled as you read and you soon fell asleep in a burrito of blankets.
