~Chapter 13~

You growled to yourself as wove another tapestry. The newcomer's hours of complaining had yet to cease since he'd been there, but it was almost useless to try to get him to shut up. The first time you tried he snapped his wrist away and literally hissed at you before lecturing you and your 'mistake.'

But you still almost felt guilty for ignoring him. Yes he seemed to be fine, but in his eyes he held fear and uncertainty. It was like looking in a mirror in some ways.

"Hey fuck face! Put down your yarn and listen to me! I demand to know exactly where I am right now!" He growled, marking towards me. "Are you deaf?! Hey!"

"Will you shut up?!" You yelled, snapping around and looking at him angrily. "I know you're confused about being pulled into a pocket universe but I can literally do nothing to help you. You could be the president of the United fucking States and I still couldn't help you. So zip it and taking a seat!"

He hesitated as he looked at you. He seemed genuinely surprised by your reaction. Sighing, you resummoned your strings and continued to weave. Raspberry, as you had nicknamed him, growled. Marching up to you, he grabbed your shoulder tightly and whipped you around.

"I will not be spoken to like that! Who do you think you are speaking like I'm just some random monster?! I am the Terrible Sans! You will respect me!" He ordered.

You stood, standing a few inches taller due to suspension of your strings. "I will do no such thing. You are powerless here. Whatever you think you deserve is a lie. You are just a horrible copy. You are not Blueberry, and even thinking that you could remotely be a variation of him makes me sick." Your tone turned poisonous, eyes narrowly. "So leave. Me. Alone."

"I'm a copy! What a joke! You're just a variation of that monster who took me! A lackey! You aren't worthy of my respect! Your just another Err-"

You cut him off, encasing him in tight binds of red and black with your strings. "NEVER compare ME to that sick freak! I'm am not Error! He doesn't control me I just... I just don't remember... anything else anymore..." Your voice trembled just the slightest amount. You blinked away wet tears and released him.

Turning back to the tapestry, you continued work silently, and Raspberry didn't bother you again. The tapestry evolved slowly, quickly becoming more and more detailed. It was a landscape of a field, blue flowers swaying gently. The earth was dark and moist, making it perfect contrast to the luminescent blooms. A lonesome bench stood tucked away from view. A waterfall fed into a swaying stream that flowed past the point of view. It felt like quiet whispers filled the air, accompanying the sound of flowing currents. It was humid, but a cool breeze cooled the face. It was incredible.

"Your tapestry is skillfully executed." Raspberry mumbled reluctantly. "It's almost an exact copy of Waterfall."

You shuddered, the name sounded exactly right. "Waterfall?" You asked, turning towards Raspberry.

He nodded then raised a brow. "It's a zone of the Underground. How can you make a tapestry of a place you don't know?" He asked.

"I guess I just forgot..." You mused to yourself. "Is there anything... special about it?" You asked.

"Well, there's the echo flowers. Those blue flowers you drew? They're known for this trait they have. They repeat the last thing said around them, again and again until something else is said." He explained. "Other than that it's also where the dump is."

"The dump?"

Nodding again, he faced you completely. "It's where all the human garbage that falls down here ends up. Tons of the stuff just piling up at the bottom. The captain of the guard, Alphys, likes going there with her lady friend Undyne to look for this thing called anime. Tried to make me watch it but I wasn't really interested and they kicked me out."

You laughed to yourself. "That sounds right."

He cocked his head and gave you an odd look. "You met Undyne and Alphys?" He asked.

You sighed and pondered your response. "Yes... and no. They're names seem familiar, but I can't really remember anything outside of these small fragments I get on occasion. I only really know a few names to be honest. Everything else is just, gone.

I woke here a few days ago and not much has really come back. There's you, Error, Blueberry (like you but a lot more sweet)... Blueberry called me something when we met in a dream. (Y/N) was it? Maybe... but Error named me Puppet. Then there's Ink. I don't remember his face, or even a second of his voice, but I do know it comforts me and annoys Error. He means something to me, I think."

Raspberry scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Well why don't you look for him then? You look like you have the same magic as Error, so why don't you-"

"I don't have the same magic as Error." You barked, trying not to sound to snappy. "My magic is weird. It's pretty much just this, colorful strings and the will to control them."

"How do you control them?" He asked.

You shrugged. "I just do I guess. Maybe they're connected to my soul, but I never checked..."

"Then check then." He growled. "You're so slow."

You glared at him and crossed your arms. "Sorry but I don't know how. No memories remember? I don't even think I could when I was the original me."

"Fight me." He instructed, standing and facing you.

"What?"

"I said fight me." He repeated.

"Why?"

"Stop asking questions and do it!" He yelled. You jumped at the sudden scream and around you the world flickered. Black then white then black then white until everything melted away. Only Raspberry stood, black and white rather than his usual red.

He seemed awestruck. "Look down."

Following promptly, your eyes fell to your chest and your breath left you. Lifting your hands, you held the ball of tangled lines in your palms. "It's chaos..." You muttered. A tight casing of colorful string encased a radiant heart, blue strings loosely layered around the top. "These are Error's strings but the other ones..."

You reached toward you soul to probe the rainbow ribbon. The pad of your fingers made contact and your hand snapped back, a quaint cry echoing from you. Everything went quiet and blindness overcame you. In a second something new met your gaze, yet it was like dejazu. Familiar in a way your just couldn't recall.

Fuzzy laughing filled the air as you looked at a stack of notes from a disorganized desk. You turned and saw a figure, taller than you just by a bit. A beige scarf enclosed his neck and splatters of color decorated his clothing. Conversation echoed, but it was too fuzzy to understand. He was holding a book, but you felt protective of it. Was it yours? It was full of pictures. Whether or not it was yours, you wanted it. In a blur his image clarified, then it all fell sideways. His face was close, and you could see every detail. It was the same and different and something else. It was another one of the Sans, but you knew he was from an AU. A new person, sort of? He was in your memories. But your stomach twisted when you saw him. His mismatched eyes and ink covered face made you feel safe, but the slightest sense of grief was left in it place as you blinked at it was all gone.

White returned and you were alone in the void, dazed. Your soul was returned to your chest but you didn't remember putting it back. Pain enclosed your wrist and you yanked it to your chest, cradling it. Whipping around, you came face to face with a very annoyed Error. Your face drained of color as you jumped your feet and backed a step. "Oh! Hi Error! Funny seeing you here. Sorry I have to go I have this thing like right now so I'll just be leaving bye!"

You tried to turn and walk away but you found yourself frozen in place. Panicked welled up within you as your muscles refused to obey. Looking down, Error's blue strings dangled from your soul. Sure enough, with a sharp tug you flew backwards into a web of the blue strings. "M-Mind explaining what I-I just saw?" He asked, feigning patience but his scowl said otherwise.

"I was holding my soul." You said plainly, not looking him directly in the eye. "I couldn't remember seeing it, so Raspberry helped- wait... where is Raspberry?! Where'd you put him!"

"SwapFell is in s-solitary with that t-tapestry of yours. Such fai-aith doesn't belong in my d-dimens-sion."

You tried to get up and slap him but remained entangled. "Why are you so mad?! It's just my soul! And Raspberry was just helping me! It's not like I destroyed your master plan or whatever."

Error opened his mouth to speak but fell silent. Judging by the look on his face, he was hiding something. Waving his hand, the strings receded and you fell the ground. He turned his back and began to walk away. You felt your face heart with rage and you grabbed violently at him, yanking him back. "You don't get to walk away so easily Error! Explain to me what exactly is wrong with me looking at my own-"

Error whipped around, glaring down at you. His eye was lit in black smoke. Shoving you back, you stumbled and fell to the ground. "S-Shut up you fucking idiot! You are nothing but a tool and I will not let your s-s-stupid cu-curiosity end-danger my plan to delete the obsol-olete universes. If you so much as m-mess up one p-prisoner I take you will ha-have hell to p-p-pay-ay. And if I find anymore of those hideous tapestry's you can kiss having anyone goodbye! Am I understood Puppet?!"

You were left speechless. For whatever reason, the thought of being alone in the void was horrifying. You nodded mutely, bitterness filling your chest as you were forced to submit to the King of all Assholes. He turned again and motioned for you to follow. You obeyed silently, thinking about the infinite ways you had to avoid annoying him.

He opened a large tear in the space before you, showing you a vibrant wealth of foliage and animals. You gasped, amazed by the multitude of hues in the garden that was presented before you. "Wow..." You mused. "It's beautiful."

"E-Enjoy it w-while you can Pup-ppet. This is the next world we take." Error warned.

"What?!"

P.o.V. Ink

I shot up, feeling a huge shift in the balance. It felt like something had gone missing, something important. Standing, I made my way to my wall of windows, each peering into a different world. Each one laid in night as it currently stood, silence taking the air in most. A few remained wired with life, despite the late our.

Before me appeared a keyboard, my hands moving quickly with almost no guidance. "Where's that coming from..." I grumbled to myself.

A long, high pitched siren blared as the dimension was located. My eyes darted hurriedly, widening when they finally set. "Dammit!"

Grabbing my paintbrush, I tore open a portal and ran as fast as I could. "I never thought he'd go this far..."

The familiar warmth of the Garden of Life swallowed me, but I shuddered. "Life!" I shouted. "Life where are you?!"

"Help!" A cry bellowed.

I barreled in its direction, moving as fast as possible. It was barely a glimpse, but I watched as the end of Life's creme dress flashed through the trees. She'd be powerless in the antivoid. Life would cease to continue. The balance...

"Hold on!"

Waving my brush, a dangerously thin stroke broke through the trees in her direction. It weaved expertly around Life, targeting only Error's corrosive magic. A scream tore through the air, making me freeze. It was a girl's scream. Life should've been fine! What did I hit?!

My legs carried me faster, finally breaking into a meadow and seeing the trio before me. Error struggled to throw Life into the antivoid, blue encasing her and restricting her movement. Her eyes fell on me in a desperate plea to be saved. Error glanced back and scowled, looking to his hooded company. "Pup-Puppet, s-stall him. Lif-fe isn't exact-tly being cooperative."

"Sure." They said, tone indifferent and hopeless. Turning, they raised a shaky hand and a rainbow of thread shot from their fingertips. It wove towards me, though it held an amateur air in their movement. Slicing again, my ink sliced their strings and blew them backwards.

They groaned, hood now fallen as they sat up. They looked at me and my breath stopped. Their eyes seemed shocked and distraught by what was happening. She didn't want to fight me, but she didn't seem like she has a choice.

"P-Puppet-t! Come on-n!" Error ordered.

(Y/N) scrambled to her feet, jumping through the portal as I uselessly reached after her. "(Y/N)!!!"
