"There's only one bed"

The moment Taehyung arrived at Jeongguk's dorm the omega realized that he really hadn't thought it through when he called the other boy to pick him up in the middle of the night impulsively.

"Yeah, it's a single bedroom. I don't have any roommates either"

"Well...shit," Taehyung said, scratching the back of his head awkwardly.

He looked around Jeongguk's room. It looked neat. Neater than Taehyung originally expected it to be, in all honesty. Except for the few books scattered around on his bed and the small pile of clothes in one corner of the room. His table was neat, with a pile of books on one side and stationery neatly organized inside a small plastic organizer and a MacBook placed in the middle of the desk.

His bed was neat. A few Marvel posters and a Game of thrones poster hung on the wall beside the bed. There was a small door at one side of the room, which Taehyung assumed was the bathroom. Despite the dorm room being small, it felt like Jeongguk had made the most of it, with the way everything looked so organized.

"Your room feels comfy" Taehyung said as he kept looking around. "I like it here"

"Thanks," Jeongguk said in a small voice. "You didn't have dinner yet, right? Shall we order something?"

Taehyung shook his head. "No, I'm not hungry"

"How about some ramen?"

Taehyung looked at him and smiled. "You don't have to bother"

"Alright, two ramen it is," Jeongguk said. "Why don't you take a seat? Or do you want to take a shower? I promise my small bathroom is clean. Will you stay the night?"

"So many questions," Taehyung said, stepping towards Jeongguk. "Can I stay here?"

"Yeah," Jeongguk said a little too quickly, making Taehyung giggle.

"You can stay here for as long as you want," Jeongguk said.

Taehyung smiled. "Thank you"

"I can give you some of my clothes if you want to take a shower. I also have an extra toothbrush"

"I'm really bothering you"

"Taehyung I'm romantically whipped for you. This feels like heaven to me"

Taehyung giggled. "Alright"

Jeongguk grinned and rushed to his wardrobe and pulled out a few clothes.

"Wanna wear my underwear too?"

Taehyung blushed at that. "I..."

Jeongguk threw a pair at Taehyung, who caught it in midair. "They're clean" He winked, making Taehyung look away in embarrassment. However, he couldn't help that stir of something unknown in the depth of this stomach at the thought he'll be wearing Jeongguk's underwear. Isn't it kind of hot?

"I really should've brought some clothes with me. I wasn't thinking when I ran out of my house" Taehyung muttered with a sigh.

Throughout the ride, Jeongguk hadn't asked him any questions other than to check if he is alright and if he was hurt. Taehyung was glad for that. It's not like he wanted to not tell Jeongguk. But he didn't want to break down in tears again.

"That's alright," Jeongguk said, handing him a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. "You can wear my clothes. You're okay with that, right?"

"Yeah of course" Taehyung smiled. "Besides I've worn your clothes before"

"Yeah," Jeongguk said. The memory of the last time Taehyung wore the alpha's clothes made him flush red with embarrassment again.

"I'm heading off to make some ramen," Jeongguk said. "There are towels in the small cabinet under the sink. You can use one. All of them are clean. I don't have any unused one, though. But I didn't use the red one in like months"

"Okay," Taehyung smiled. He found it cute how Jeongguk was trying to make him as comfortable as possible.

Jeongguk's bathroom was clean and smelled really nice just as the alpha had said. Taehyung took a shower and got dressed in the clothes he had been given and stepped out of the bathroom around twenty minutes later. When he stepped did, Jeongguk had prepared two cups of ramen.

"Tada!" Jeongguk said, gesturing at the two steaming cups on his table.

Taehyung grinned. "Smells good"

"I know. I'm a good cook"

"That's literally instant noodles. Anyone can make those"

"But I'm actually a good cook," Jeongguk said. "I'll make you breakfast so you'll see how skilled I am"

"Sure"

They started eating, both of them sitting cross-legged on the carpet by the bed. Taehyung dived right in. He had been starving.

"You said you weren't hungry," Jeongguk said as he finished his cup. "But that's not what it looked like"

"I was starving, actually"

"Why didn't you say so?"

"I didn't want to bother you"

"I told you I'll take care of you. Besides we like each other, right?"

"Yeah," Taehyung said in a small voice.

"So stop worrying. I'll tell you if I'm bothered or uncomfortable, okay?"

Taehyung nodded. The moment he had met Jeongguk that evening, all his worries had disappeared to the back of his mind. All that mattered was the fact that he was with Jeongguk. Taehyung knew he was safe with him.

"So are we going to talk about the elephant in the room?" Jeongguk asked.

"What?"

"You said you wanted to go out with me"

"Oh, yeah. I want to"

"So suddenly? Does this have to with why you ran from home?"

Taehyung fumbled with his fingers. "Yeah"

"If you want to talk about it, I will listen. You don't have to, of course. But I can lend you a shoulder to cry on"

"Thank you" Taehyung whispered. "It's my parents"

"Oh"

"You asked me if they were the only reason I said I didn't want labels with you even though I like you. If they are the only thing holding me back. They are. But that isn't the whole story"

"Then?"

Taehyung fumbled with his fingers nervously. He had kept this a secret from everyone. That he's supposed to be married off like an asset of their family. Like a mere object for the benefit of their pack.

"You can tell me anything, Tae. I won't judge you or be angry at you. I hope you know that" Jeongguk said, reaching out across him to take Taehyung's hand. The omega laced his fingers with the other boy, a feeling of relief flooding through his body at the contact of skin.

"My pack..." Taehyung started. "Is really conservative. I'm the only omega in my family. My parents and my older sister are alphas"

"I've heard of your pack. It's known throughout districts because of it, right? Because it's a pure breed family. A family of alphas"

"Yeah" Taehyung nodded. "But I was the first omega they've had in decades. They didn't like that. My birth was like a black mark on the family because a male omega is a disgrace to a family"

"That's not true. No one thinks like that these days. There are equal rights to alphas and omegas. No one cares about ranks anymore"

"I learned it only after I started mingling with the society and people my age" Taehyung said in a small voice. "My parents taught me that I'm inferior all my life. That I'm not supposed to be independent. He taught me to be a slave to alphas" Taehyung felt himself choke down a sob.

"Baby" Jeongguk whispered, his voice thick with sorrow.

"I know I'm not supposed to be like that. I have grown up from that perspective but my parents...especially my mother have always tried to mold me into that ideal omega. She...she insults me all the time and talks about how I'm inferior all the time"

"Oh god"

"She tells me she only does that because she cares about me. She says that if I'm not those things people expect omegas to be, like slim, pretty, feminine, and submissive, I will never find an alpha. But it;'s not my life's purpose to find an alpha. I have dreams and ambitions too"

"Does she call you fat and ugly? Tells you to lose weight? She's poisoning your mind, Tae. That's why you're always on about how you're not attractive. That you can't be attractive if you're not slim"

"Yeah"

"God, she's so toxic. You do know that she's wrong. Right?"

Taehyung shrugged.

"Tae, baby. You are the most attractive and prettiest person I've ever met. And I'm not the only one who finds you attractive. Do you know how other alphas look at you when you walk by? They wish you were theirs"

"What?"

"Every time you walk by, people are looking back because you're so beautiful"

"What? Really?"

"Yes! It always makes me jealous"

"I didn't know that. Why wouldn't they ask me out or anything?"

"Has no one ever flirted with you?"

Taehyung shrugged. "Rarely. When I'm alone"

"They probably think you're taken. Like I thought. Like it's not possible for someone as gorgeous as you to be single" Jeongguk said, shaking his head as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

Taehyung giggled.

"Also maybe because of Jimin. That dude acts as he owns you. He looks hella intimidating sometimes"

"He's really protective of me" Taehyung smiled.

"So am I from now on"

Taehyung grinned cheekily. "I wouldn't mind that"

Jeongguk laughed and squeezed his hand. "Awesome"

"I told you I'm not supposed to be friends with alphas," Taehyung said, continuing his story. "My parents never let me hang out with alphas even before I was presented as an omega. Before I had my first heat"

"Oh"

"They had thought I was an alpha at first. But with time I had started showing characteristics that weren't very alpha-like so they had assumed I was a beta. But I turned out to be an omega. But the thing is, they had always kept me away from alphas. I didn't understand this until I was presented as an omega"

Jeongguk listened carefully, doe eyes focused on Taehyung.

"It's because they wanted to marry me off to another pack"

Jeongguk's eyes widened comically. "What?" he said with disbelief.

"They are trying to marry me off to the next leader of the Park pack"

"You're engaged?"

"No, they just want me to marry him. I don't want to. Both families want us to get married"

"So you are not available" Jeongguk muttered.

"No, it's not that-"

"I know" Jeongguk nodded. "You're being forced to marry him. Is there no way out?"

"I don't know, Guk. Today...I told my mom that I don't want to marry him. We fought. I ran away after telling her I'm not going to marry him"

Jeongguk was silent for a few seconds, his expression unreadable. And them, "So you don't like him at all?"

"Not as anything more than a friend"

Jeongguk nodded.

"He was the only alpha my parents let me be friends with. We were close before I was presented as an omega, but after knowing my parents' intention of our friendship, I started to grow distant from him. We're still friends but I don't feel anything more than friendship for him. I never had felt anything like that for anyone. You were the first"

Jeongguk looked at him with a saddened expression. "They were planning to marry you off from the very beginning, weren't they? To be an ideal omega to an alpha? That's why they were so strict on you all the time. They were preparing you for marriage all this time"

Taehyung nodded.

"Tae, that's fucked up. Do they think that's all you are? Like a pig being prepared for slaughter, they're preparing you for marriage"

"Yeah"

"Fuck" Jeongguk cursed. "Come here"

Jeongguk shifted closer to Taehyung and wrapped his arms around the omega. Taehyung leaned into the embrace as he wrapped his own arms around Jeongguk, letting him be held. Jeongguk's hand caressed his back, soothingly and lovingly. Taehyung felt himself relax in the alpha's hold.

"Jeongguk?" Taehyung whispered.

"Yes, my baby?"

"I want to be with you. This was what held me back. I like you so much, Guk"

"I know, baby"

"I'm sorry"

"Were you being impulsive when you told your mom you won't marry that alpha?"

"Yes. I've never gone against her word. I never thought much about marriage. Because I thought it was normal for an omega to be wedded off like that. Until I was in high school and realized things don't exactly work the way my parents told me they do"

Jeongguk nodded against Taehyung's shoulder, listening carefully.

"But the fact that I'm going to be married off didn't really bother me because I wasn't exactly attracted to anyone. I had crushes but I never had anyone ask me out or I don't think any of my crushes liked me back. So I didn't have a major problem with it. Also, I was more focused on school and getting into a good college. So this thing never bothered me. We hardly even talked about it at home"

"I get it"

"Until you came along"

"You were the only person who had even flirted with me like that. And you treated me so well. I started liking you and I wanted to be with you. You were the first person I've ever actually wanted to be with"

"It was then I started thinking about the marriage. It was then that it started bothering me. Because I want to be with you, not him"

"Oh Tae" Jeongguk whispered. "I want to be with you too"

"I don't know how to call this off, Guk," Taehyung said. He felt the tears brim his eyes so he let them run free down his cheeks. "I don't know what to do anymore"

"Hey, don't cry" Jeongguk whispered. "I'm sure we can find a way around this"

"They're trying to marry me off to strengthen the bond between our pack and the Park pack. It's really important to my parents"

"But they can't just use you for that. You have your own life. You should be deciding what you want to do with it"

"I know! I want to get a job after college. But they want me to get married soon. Because the alpha, Park Seojoon, is turning twenty-seven this year. They're saying he should be getting married by now. My mom told me today that they want me to be married to him after my second year. That's...like this year. I lost it when she said so. Guk, I don't want to get married so soon"

"An arranged marriage..." Jeongguk thought for a second. "I should think about it. Can't we convince either of your parents that you don't want to marry him?"

"Like tell them I like someone else?"

"Would that work?"

"They'll beat the shit out of me"

Jeongguk sighed, pulling away from the embrace. Instead, he shifted closer and pecked Taehyung's forehead.

Taehyung closed his eyes as he felt the alpha's press against his forehead a sigh escaping him. He felt himself calm down, the stress easing away at his touch.

Jeongguk drew away and his doe eyes fixated on Taehyung's. "It'll be fine. I'm sure we will be able to find a way out of this"

"If I keep telling them no, do you think they will give up?"

Jeongguk shrugged. "I guess there's only one way to find out"

Taehyung nodded. "It's you who gave me the strength to stand up for myself like that. Because you made me realize I don't want to be treated like that. Because I want to be with you too"

"I'm so happy to hear that, baby" Jeongguk whispered. "I'm so proud of you"

Taehyung smiled. "Thank you"

"You're so strong and I admire that. I will always support you. I'll never leave you"

"Okay," The omega whispered. He placed his hand on Jeongguk's cheek and smiled.

Then he leaned in and pressed his lips against Jeongguk's.

Jeongguk reacted right away, pressing his own lips against Taehyung's and drawing him closer with small tugs at the omega's t-shirt. In seconds, Taehyung was on Jeongguk's lap.

Jeongguk's tongue licked smoothly into Taehyung's mouth and he voluntarily let the alpha through. His tongue was hot against Taehyung's and he tasted like the noodles they had just eaten. No doubt, Taehyung tasted the same.

"Jeongguk," Taehyung said, taking the alpha's hands in his. "I like you and I want to go out with you. You were the first person for who I had a deep feeling like this. The first person I actually wanted to go out with"

Jeongguk nodded.

"I'll be fine with it if you don't want to do this with me because of my current state. We can just name it whatever between us. I just want something. Because I like you and I really want to be with you. I've thought about y feeling for you before. I knew I felt more than as a friend for you. The only reason I didn't want labels was because of this part of the story I didn't tell you. But now that you know it, I want you to tell me what you want us to be"

"I will be fine with anything, Tae. Your current state has nothing to do with me. I want a relationship with you. I just don't want you to regret that decision"

"I won't regret it. I will regret it more if I didn't make this decision. Because right now, this is what I want the most"

Jeongguk nodded. "Your arranged marriage...it has nothing to do with me because you don't like him. You aren't in a relationship. Your forced marriage sounds like a problem of your parents. They need to figure out a way to stabilize the pack without selling their son"

Taehyung flashed him a tight-lipped smile. "They need to stop thinking with their outdated brains"

"Yep. We can figure a way out of this along the way. Right now, all I want is a relationship with you too"

"Will you ask me out?"

"If that's what my omega wants, yes" Jeongguk grinned.

Taehyung giggled at that, cheeks heating up at that. 'My omega' did wonders to his heart.

Jeongguk sat up straight on the bed. "Kim Taehyung. Will you go out with me?"

"Yes"
