First week of the semester of Taehyung's second year at BH University turned out to be better than he had expected. He had expected at least twenty assignments from the four subjects he took in his second year at the end of the first week. But as Friday arrived, Taehyung only found himself with ten assignments, all due coming Monday.

Taehyung would have to find another word for 'busy' because he was about to be busier than he had ever been in his life that weekend. Fortunately, Jimin and he were doing the same degree; Microbiology. Taehyung considered himself lucky because Jimin was that student who always understood the assignment. So he and Taehyung could work together and make things less difficult for both of them.

Determined to get started on their work, Taehyung and Jimin were walking to the library after their lectures for that day had ended. They had no time to waste. The sun shone brightly and beautifully above them, basking the students who scattered all over the university premises, running around enticed in their own little worlds.

The brightness of the sun, however, had little to no effect on the cold that crept up Taehyung's skin even through the leather jacket he wore. He had always loved the cold more than the heat. He loved winter more than summer. He liked staying in than going out. Therefore the chill of winter he felt against his skin was more than welcome, even though the back of his consciousness begged for a couple of more layers on Taehyung to ward off the cold.

"I hope we could find seats in the library" Jimin's stressed mutter managed to draw a sigh from Taehyung.

"I'm sure we can find one" Taehyung said, voice thicker than he had thought it would be. "Or we can just go to your dorm"

"We need to read those articles too. If there are no seats let's burrow the books and go to my dorm"

"Okay" Taehyung said.

The library was crowded as expected. Looking through the long tables occupied by students, they were finally able to find two vacant seats, which they kindly asked one student to move so they could sit together.

"I'll go get the Campbell Biology one" Taehyung whispered to Jimin, already setting down his books at his seat and eager get to work. The sooner the work was over, the better it would be. The more time he would have to spend some time for himself. Maybe he could even hang out with Jimin and Hoseok on Sunday. Hoseok always brings some booze.

Taehyung started walking towards the biology section of the library. He looked through the shelves, trying to catch a glimpse of the book he was all too familiar with, having had lessons to study from the said book in his first year.

However, he couldn't find the said book in its usual place. They must be too late, students probably had taken all the books available already. With a sigh, Taehyung rummaged through the other books, feeling hopeful to find one that one may have mistakenly put in another shelf.

Scanning through rows and rows of different biology books brought Taehyung no avail. He had almost reached the psychology section of the library and over ten minutes had passed. Jimin must've already started his work. Taehyung was about to turn around and walk back to his seat when he spotted a familiar book on a counter by the psychology section.

Seeing no current occupants of the book, Taehyung walked over to the counter by the window. Feeling content that he had finally found a book and hoping to grab it quickly and run away with it before someone comes for it, Taehyung reached to take it.

But the moment his hand met the hard cover of the book, another hand reached it.

Taehyung's eyes widened in surprise as his hand met another hand, soft skin grazing against his own. Both reaching out for the same purpose.

Thinking the original occupier had come to take the book with them, Taehyung started to stutter out an apology. "I'm sorry I thought it was-"

Taehyung turned his head to look at the person who had reached out for the book the same time as him as he started with the apology, only to stop immediately upon seeing who it was.

The boy who stood next to Taehyung dressed in a black sweater mirrored the omega's surprised expression. But the surprise soon faded away only to be replaced by a warm smile that reached his eyes. His smile made Taehyung's insides melt and his face heat up, memories of the day they had first met flooding into his mind like a stream.

"Oh"

The boy's smile widened. "Hi" His voice seemed clearer now. More handsome but softer than Taehyung remembered it to be. The first time he heard it had been through booming music. Taehyung liked his voice. It made Taehyung's tummy erupt with butterflies.

"Hi" Taehyung whispered. "It's you again"

The boy grinned, bunny-like teeth coming into view. Taehyung couldn't help but smile at that. "You remember me?"

"Of course" Taehyung said in a small voice. "How could I forget?" I had embarrassed myself in front of you not five days ago.

"I didn't think you would"

Taehyung raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Why not?"

Jeongguk shrugged. "I don't know. Doesn't alphas come running after you? I didn't think I would be important enough for you to remember because you probably get a lot of guys"

"W-what?" Taehyung was utterly confused. What does he mean Taehyung gets a lot of guys?

"I mean, you're beautiful. And a male omega. So you must be getting a lot of guys, right? And I didn't think you would remember someone like me because of that"

"O-Oh" Like that.

Jeongguk scratched the back of his neck awkwardly.

"I..." Taehyung started. "I don't get a lot of guys, though"

"What?!" Jeongguk exclaimed. "What do you mean?"

"I mean...not a lot of guys ask me out" Taehyung said with a small chuckle.

Jeongguk stared at him for a few seconds in confusion. "You're joking right?"

"I'm not!"

"But how?! Like...doesn't people have eyes? Are they blind? How could..."

"I just don't go out much"

"Oh right" Jeongguk said. "I've never met a male omega, though. You're really unique"

You're really unique.

"T-thank you" Taehyung blushed a darker red. Was this guy flirting?

"Wait maybe you don't get a lot of guys because you have a boyfriend!" Jeongguk looked like he had just solved a puzzle. "Like probably because everyone knows you got an alpha or something and-"

"No, I don't have anyone"

Jeongguk's eyes widened comically. "What the fuck?"

Taehyung laughed.

"How could someone as beautiful as you be single?"

Damn. This dude knows how to flirt.

Taehyung let out a small laugh. "Stop it"

Jeongguk smiled.

They kept their gazes locked for a few seconds and by every passing second, Taehyung's blush only deepened, spreading to his ears and in no time he would be looking like a tomato. So Taehyung broke their gaze first.

"I...I just wanted this book. Are you using it right now?" Taehyung asked, glancing at the thick book on the counter.

"Yeah I was" Jeongguk said.

"You study biology? I haven't seen you around"

"Oh no, no. I study psychology. But we need to study the human brain for out next class so I just wanted to read that part" Jeongguk said.

"Oh psychology. That's cool"

"What do you study?"

"Microbiology"

"Do you guys learn about the bacteria and stuff?"

Taehyung smiled. "Yeah. Bacteria and stuff"

"Viruses?"

"Yep"

"Corona virus?"

Taehyung laughed. "Yeah that too"

"Wow" Jeongguk grinned. "Must be interesting"

"It is. But also exhausting. Can't be too different from psychology, right?"

"Yeah it's exhausting too. You're in first year?"

"Second. You?"

"Wait for real? I thought you were younger than me. I'm in second year too. It's weird how I've never seen you around. Not even in the college parties"

Taehyung wanted to say that he hardly ever went to parties but he kept silent.

"I haven't seen you either" Taehyung said. "Maybe because our faculties are a little far away from each other"

Jeongguk nodded. "I just need a couple of pages from the book. I can take pictures of them and give you the book. I think this was the last one on the shelf"

"Is that okay?"

"Anything for you"

Taehyung rolled his eyes. "I told you to stop"

"Not now that I know you're single"

Taehyung let out a chuckle. He couldn't help the bubbles of happiness that erupted in his stomach every time the other boy tried to flirt.

Taehyung watched as Jeongguk slid out his phone from his jeans and started taking pictures. In a couple of minutes, he was done.

"Here" Jeongguk handed Taehyung the book.

"Thanks" Taehyung smiled. "I'll be in the library for a few more hours so if you need anything more, you can ask me for the book"

Jeongguk nodded. "Sure" He handed Taehyung his phone.

Taehyung looked at Jeongguk and then at his phone in confusion. "What?"

"Your number? How else am I supposed to tell you which pages I'm missing?"

Taehyung let out a playful scoff, making Jeongguk grin at him. "You're sneaky. Won't you be staying in the library?"

"Nope I'm heading to the dorm right now. I'll text you when I need you to send me the pictures of the pages I'm missing"

"When" Taehyung questioned suspiciously.

"If"

Taehyung laughed. "You're one of a kind" he muttered making a laugh erupt from Jeongguk. Taehyung took Jeongguk's phone from his hand and pressed his number onto it.

"Thank you, milady" Jeongguk said with a small graceful bow as Taehyung handed him his phone.

Taehyung rolled his eyes but couldn't help the smile that stretched his lips upwards.

"I'll text you when I need the pictures"

"If"

"When"

Taehyung giggled.

"Whoa. Even your laugh is beautiful"

"Oh my god stop" Taehyung said. "I will literally hit you"

"I'd pay to get hit by you"

"What the fuck" Taehyung laughed. "Aren't you an alpha?"

"Yes, and? What about it?" Jeongguk said. "Can't alphas wish to get hit by beautiful omegas? Are you kinkshaming me?"

Taehyung's laughter was uncontrollable. "Weirdo"

Jeongguk stared at him, bunny teeth full on display.

After a few seconds, Taehyung regained himself, wiping the tears that had gather around the edges of his eyes from the laughter. "I need to do my assignments. I'll see you around"

Jeongguk nodded. "Yeah. Sorry to keep you waiting"

"No worries. You're fun to be around" Taehyung said in a small voice.

"I'm so happy to hear that. I'm sure you'll be happier when we text. And call. And meet again" Jeongguk winked.

Taehyung swore his heart skipped a beat at that.

"I really hoped I would get to meet you again" Jeongguk said. "You were so cute the other day"

"Please don't remind me about that! That was so embarrassing"

Jeongguk laughed. "Don't worry. No one has to know about it. It'll be our little secret"

Taehyung's cheeks heated up at the tone of Jeongguk's voice. It sounded a little deeper than normal. Something stirred inside Taehyung's stomach upon hearing it.

"I-I'll get going" Taehyung said, clutching the heavy book close to his chest. "Goodbye, Jeongguk"

"Hey don't say goodbye. We will meet again. So it'll never be a goodbye, okay? Say 'I'll see you later' instead"

Taehyung grinned. "I'll see you later, Jeongguk"

Jeongguk smiled sweetly at him.

"I'll see you later too, Taehyung"

Taehyung grinned at him before turning around, walking towards his seat with the book. He saw Jimin writing something down on a paper as he closed up on him. Taehyung slowly took his seat, placing the book in front of them.

"What took you so long?" Jimin's question was expected.

"Couldn't find the book" Taehyung whispered back. Jimin didn't question it further and went back to writing.

Taehyung was taking his stuff out from his bag when a familiar looking boy in a black hoodie and jeans walked past his table, eyes fixated on Taehyung.

Taehyung watched him as if he was in a trance, a secretive smile never leaving his lips. He watched Jeongguk walk towards the exit of the library. Just as he was about to open the door to take his leave, he turned around and winked at Taehyung.

Taehyung felt his heart skip a beat again. His smile widened and the blush that had started to fade deepened again. Taehyung watched Jeongguk disappear behind the wooden door of the library and he could still feel his heart racing in his chest, stomach bubbling with joy. Taehyung let out a deep exhale.

Jeongguk was going to be the death of Taehyung.
