Chapter Thirty Six
Seojoon's grip on Taehyung's stomach was painful, every ounce of fear within him etched across the omega's face. He couldn't move a muscle, ensnared by the powerful pheremones of the true-blooded alpha looming over him, his pheromones rendering Taehyung numb. Tears streamed down his cheeks, a blend of terror from Seojoon's potential harm and the newfound fear for the pup growing inside him.
Unexpectedly, the door to his room burst open, and Taehyung gasped at the sight of Jeongguk. Relief and happiness surged through him; his alpha had arrived to rescue him.
"A-Alpha" Taehyung sobbed.
Jeongguk's eyes, murderous and predatory, previously focused on Seojoon and his grip on Taehyung's stomach, now shifted to the omega's face. It only took Jeongguk a mere second or two to take in the scene in front of him after entering the room. Taehyung watched him lunge at Seojoon, ripping him away from the omega.
Another gasp left Taehyung's left as he sat up on the bed. With one hand clutching Seojoon's shirt and the other a firm grasp on his neck, Jeongguk was pushing the other alpha against a wall opposite Taehyung. A predatory snarl left Jeongguk's throat and Seojoon growled at him, his hands coming to push Jeongguk away from himself. He struggled against a bloody Jeongguk, trying to remove the alpha's chokehold, but to no avail.
"How dare you touch my omega" Jeongguk growled, baring his canines threateningly at Seojoon.
Seojoon's frown deepened. "Your omega? He's mine. He's been mine since the day he presented"
Jeongguk chuckled humourlessly. "He is mine and I have made him mine in every way possible"
"He's unmated"
"He's my future mate" Jeongguk shouted. His grip tightened against Seojoon's neck and he snarled at the other alpha as if he was moments away from ripping Seojoon's throat out.
Seojoon growled and pushed Jeongguk back. It made Jeongguk lose his grip on Seojoon but his nails left bloody scratch marks against Seojoon's neck. Seojoon hissed, advancing towards Jeongguk. Jeongguk punched Seojoon across the face, making the other alpha stumble. However, he didn't back down. He kicked Jeongguk and gripped him by the shoulders. Taehyung gasped when Seojoon punched Jeongguk's gut and it was clear how weakened Jeongguk was.
Taehyung, in his panicked and frightened state, wondered who had beaten Jeongguk up. Was it his father and his men? When did Jeongguk arrive here?
However, he didn't let those thoughts linger. He saw Seojoon grab the nearest object to him- a lampshade and was about to hit Jeongguk who was panting against a cupboard. Taehyung screamed, lunging from the bed to protect his alpha with his body. The act made Seojoon halt. He looked at Taehyung with rage.
"Get away from him or I will kill you too" Seojoon shouted.
"You're not killing my alpha" Taehyung snarled.
Jeongguk wheezed and coughed behind him, slowly but with difficulty, straightening up. He coughed again and Taehyung saw from the corner of his eye that he was coughing up blood. Taehyung wanted to cry and kill Seojoon all at the same time.
"Your alpha" Seojoon laughed "How did you ever let such a weakling become your alpha? He's a true alpha but can't even fight without wheezing"
"Shut it!" Taehyung snapped.
Seojoon raised the lampshade once again, and Taehyung screamed. However, Jeongguk lunged against Seojoon, pushing him back from his stomach. Seojoon fell on his back, Jeongguk on top of him. Jeongguk gasped for breath, his blood oozing out of several places in his body. He threw a weak punch at Seojoon but the other alpha had little effect from it. He punched Jeongguk across the face and Jeongguk fell back. Taehyung screamed and ran towards his alpha, ready to protect him against Seojoon's attacks. Seojoon stood up, looming against Taehyung, who was embracing Jeongguk.
"Get out of here, he will kill you" Jeongguk muttered.
"He will kill you too!" Taehyung shouted.
"Please, save yourself" Jeongguk begged.
"Yes, Taehyung. Save yourself" Seojoon laughed, picking up the lampshade once again. "Save your pups like a good omega"
"What?" Jeongguk muttered with confusion.
"I'm glad Jeongguk came in here to save you. I will kill him right now and I won't have to deal with getting rid of him later" Seojoon grinned. "It will be easier to get rid of your pups once he's gone"
"What pups?" Jeongguk muttered, looking at Taehyung.
Taehyung gulped. "Jeongguk, I'm p-"
The loud sound of something breaking made Taehyung jump. He gasped, hearing footsteps coming towards his room.
"Must be your father and his men" Jeongguk said, struggling to sit up.
"No" Taehyung was on the verge of crying. "No, please"
"Oh good, it will be easier now for me to kill you" Seojoon grinned.
"Leave, Tae. Please" Jeongguk begged once again.
"I would rather die with you than leave you to die"
"No, my love, please" Jeongguk whispered.
"No" Taehyung shook his head sternly.
The door of his room opened ajar and five alphas, along with Taehyung's father walked in. Taehyung gulped, fear shaking him to the core.
"Dad, please" Taehyung whispered.
Minseok chuckled, looking at Taehyung who was embracing a bloody Jeongguk.
"I found out that you were going to give me a used omega, Mr Kim" Seojoon said.
Minseok's eyes widened. "I-"
"That's fine, Mr. Kim. Since I love Taehyung, I will marry him regardless" Seojoon grinned.
Minseok nodded. "I can't be grateful enough for you, son"
"Love is unconditional, after all"
Minseok chuckled and looked at Jeongguk. "He's almost dead. Good"
"Dad" Taehyung let go of Jeongguk and knelt on the floor. "I will marry Seojoon and I will do everything you say. I will have his pups and I will voluntarily stop my education. But please let Jeongguk walk out of here. I promise to never see him again. I swear if you let him live"
"Taehyung!" Jeongguk protested.
Minseok scoffed. "You will be doing all that regardless of whether I let Jeongguk live or not, Taehyung. You must suffer the consequences of your actions"
Taehyung let out a sob. "Please, just let him live"
"Yeah, no, he's got to die," Seojoon said.
"Don't get blood on your hands, son. I will have my men do it" Minseok said.
"No!" Taehyung screamed. He covered Jeongguk with his own body, shielding him from any potential harm. "If you're going to kill him, kill me too"
"Don't be ridiculous, Taehyung" Minseok said.
The room was filled with an oppressive silence, broken only by Taehyung's desperate pleas and the faint echoes of Jeongguk's laboured breaths. The air was thick with tension, the scent of blood and fear permeating the space.
As the impending threat of violence hung in the air, the dim room seemed to close in on them. The flickering light from the lampshade Seojoon held, cast eerie shadows, adding a macabre touch to the unfolding scene. The atmosphere crackled with a palpable sense of impending doom.
Minseok's gaze flickered between his son and Jeongguk, his expression unreadable. Seojoon wore a sinister grin, revelling in the chaos he had orchestrated. The room became a stage for a tragic play, each character playing their part in a cruel twist of fate.
Jeongguk's weakened form, still recovering from the earlier beating, now faced the looming threat of execution. Blood stained his clothes, a testament to the brutality he had endured. Taehyung, kneeling beside him, clutched at his torn shirt, his own desperation and fear etched across his face.
The clash of emotions, the scent of blood, and the haunting shadows painted a vivid tableau of despair. Even the very walls seemed to absorb the anguish and fear, bearing witness to a heartbreaking confrontation.
"You think you can get away with killing Jeongguk? You think that would solve all your problems? Killing the person I am in love with? You will face a million more problems if you get involved in a murder. This pack would be good as dissolved if a murder claim gets put upon this pack" Taehyung shouted at his father.
"When did you ever care about this pack? You didn't seem to care at all when you fooled around with this boy" Minseok said.
"You must be mad to take this to such a length as killing him. I will stop my affair with him and–"
"Of course you will"
"So let him go!" Taehyung sobbed.
Minseok looked at Seojoon. "Son, why don't I take care of Jeongguk and you be on your way home? You don't look okay. Get some medicine on your wounds"
"I'm fine, father. I want him dead"
"I will lock Taehyung up somewhere until the wedding so he won't be in contact with Jeongguk and I will remind Jeongguk how much he had fucked up too. Don't worry, he would wish we had killed him, by the time I'm done with him" Minseok said.
Seojoon smirked, his eyes reflecting a cruel satisfaction. "Sounds appealing. But it would be better to get rid of him right now, Mr. Kim. I don't want the father of Taehyung's pups wandering around"
"What?" Minseok's eyes widened in shock.
"You're pregnant?" Jeongguk asked.
A tear trailed down Taehyung's cheek. He nodded at Jeongguk. "I'm sorry"
"When did you find out?" Jeongguk whispered.
"I found out when I scented him" Seojoon grinned.
Jeongguk's anger flared, and he tried to stand up, but his legs gave out beneath him. "You motherfucker—"
"It's really no big deal," Seojoon said. "We can abort the pup and get rid of the father. It's all settled then"
"No!" Jeongguk protested, his voice echoing through the room. Despite his battered state, his defiance remained unbroken. He stood up slowly, legs shaking and the ground beneath him a pool of blood.
Seojoon scoffed. Taehyung stood up, supporting Jeongguk to stay on his feet. The dreadful silence inside the room was however disturbed by the road of an engine and footsteps. Taehyung gasped softly, eyes widening in fear and confusion. Could it be that Minseok had called in more men? What would their fate be now? It was Taehyung and Jeongguk against the world.
However, the puzzled expressions on Minseok's and his men's faces bore proof of how the footsteps didn't belong to the result of their plan either. Confirming Taehyung's doubt but much to everyone's surprise, In a whirlwind of motion, the door to the room burst open, revealing Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Jin, and Hoseok– a wall of unwavering determination, a stark contrast to the oppressive atmosphere orchestrated by Minseok and Seojoon. Their entrance disrupted the oppressive atmosphere, momentarily shifting the balance of power.
"Taehyung!" Jimin's voice cut through the tension, his eyes locking onto his friend with a mixture of relief and anger.
"Jimin!" Taehyung gasped. "What-" before Taehyung could ask him a question, the room was plunged into chaos as Minseok's men took the signal that the new entrances were here to help Taehyung and Jeongguk. The five buff true alphas lunged at the three alphas and two betas.
The clash of bodies erupted, an intricate dance of calculated strikes and sheer strength. Namjoon, with his towering presence, fought bravely against an alpha while Yoongi's precise movements kept their adversaries on the defensive. Jimin and Hoseok fought in tandem, an unspoken synergy honed through years of camaraderie. Jin punched an alpha's face, sending the taller man groaning in pain.
Fists met resistance, and the room reverberated with the symphony of a fierce struggle. Seojoon growled behind Taehyung and was about to join the fight. However, Jeongguk pushed him back and Taehyung slapped Seojoon across the face. Seojoon's face mirrored surprise as he looked at the omega.
Behind Taehyung, the fight didn't take long for the tide to turn against Jeongguk's friends. Minseok and his men, with their sheer strength and calculated ruthlessness, began to overpower the group.
Namjoon's strategic mind was outmatched, and Yoongi's precise strikes became elusive targets. Jin, Jimin and Hoseok, despite their synchronized efforts, found themselves gradually overpowered. The room echoed with the sounds of grunts and the clatter of overturned furniture.
As the friends fought valiantly, a twist of fate unfolded. Minseok's men, fuelled by a determination to protect their leader, proved too strong. One by one, Namjoon, Yoongi, Jin, and Hoseok found themselves overpowered, their limbs held down with an unyielding force. The five alphas' well-coordinated counterattack left Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Jin, and Hoseok overwhelmed.
It wasn't until Minseok's men began to fight dirty, exploiting every possible weakness, that the friends found themselves unable to fight back. Swift kicks and calculated blows landed with precision, wearing down their defences. One by one, Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi, Jin, and Hoseok were subdued, held down by the overwhelming strength of Minseok's men. The room echoed with the struggles, each friend grunting in defiance, refusing to yield despite the odds.
"Enough!" Minseok's voice cut through the chaos. His men restrained the friends, rendering them helpless. They were held down, immobilized in a cruel display of dominance. The atmosphere shifted from chaos to a suffocating stillness, the friends now held captive, their defiant gazes locking onto Taehyung and Jeongguk.
Taehyung's eyes met Jimin's, a silent exchange of regret and determination. The once-victorious friends now lay defeated, their attempt to save Taehyung and Jeongguk crushed beneath the weight of Minseok's iron grip. One man punched Yoongi across the face as he struggle to break free from the man's grip. A streak of blood starter running down his nose, pain mirrored in his face.
"No!" Jimin shouted, the anguish in his voice reverberating through the room. The friends, now defeated and held captive, looked towards Taehyung and Jeongguk with regretful eyes.
Minseok's menacing laughter cut through the turmoil. "Did you really think you could defy us? Your feeble attempt at resistance is entertaining but futile."
Seojoon, slowly recovering from Taehyung and Jeongguk's attacks, wore a triumphant smirk. "You thought your friends could save you? How naive."
The room, once filled with the sounds of struggle, fell into an oppressive silence, heavy with defeat. The defeated friends lay on the floor, held down by Minseok's men, their once defiant spirits now subdued. Taehyung and Jeongguk, though still standing, faced a harsh reality — the overwhelming strength of Minseok's pack and the inevitability of their impending fate.
"Looks like your friends need to be taught a lesson too" Minseok said and looked at Jimin. "Jimin, I didn't expect this from you. You are the son of one of my closest friends and yet you helped Taehyung with his vulgar acts"
Jimin looked away, not uttering a word.
"For the sake your father and I's long-standing friendship, I will let this go. Stand up and run along, Escape" Minseok said. "Or you will suffer alongside your friends"
"I'm not leaving Taehyung or my friends" Jimin snarled.
"You have chosen your fate, it seems. Fine. Men, take them away" Minseok commanded.
"No!" Jeongguk shouted. You will not harm my omega or my friends" Jeongguk growled, a flicker of the alpha's dominance returning.
"I don't think you have a choice" Seojoon sneered.
"I do" Jeongguk said, his voice filled with resolve. "This is a problem between me, Seojoon and Taehyung's parents. We can settle this between us"
"We could've but your friends decided to come in here and rescue you two" Minseok said.
"But they have nothing to do with the issue at hand right now. The issue of marriage between my omega and Seojoon" Jeongguk spoke.
"Why are you even talking right now? You can't negotiate your way out of this" Seojoon laughed tauntingly.
"This is a wolf pack, followers of Luna, our moon goddess" Jeongguk spoke, looking at Seojoon. "You and I are true-blooded alphas; as legend has it, descendants of Luna. We are descendants of honourable warriors. We act with Honour"
"Jeongguk, what are you doing?" Taehyung whispered, terrified.
The air within the dimly lit room hung heavy with tension, the scent of anxiety palpable. The lampshade that was once again in Seojoon's hand swung slightly, casting flickering shadows that danced along the walls. Each sway of the light created illusions, morphing the room into a shifting canvas of uncertainties.
As Seojoon and Jeongguk faced off, the play of shadows seemed to echo the tumultuous nature of their conflict. The light, unstable and inconsistent, mirrored the precarious situation that had enveloped them all.
"So we must abide by our traditions. There are ways to resolve disputes" Jeongguk declared, his eyes fixed on Seojoon.
"No" Taehyung whispered, shaking his head frantically.
"We are two alphas fighting for one omega. There are ways our packs resolve this" Jeongguk continued, the weight of the ancient traditions pressing down on them.
"Don't do this, Jeongguk" Taehyung grabbed Jeongguk's hand and sobbed desperately.
"What are you saying, Jeongguk?" Seojoon, now visibly unsettled, asked with a hint of fear.
"I challenge you to a duel, Park Seojoon. We will duel to death"
