Jeongguk quickened his pace towards the university grounds from the student car park that Monday morning. It was late January, where the snow fall starts to lessen to make way for a sunny and rainy spring. The dewy grass was muddy under his Prada boots and Jeongguk had to slow down his pace as he started to run across the ground without taking the cement side walk that lead to the building he was headed to.

"Jeongguk slow down, man! You'll fall" Namjoon shouted after him.

"I'm late. Taehyung must be waiting for me" Jeongguk answered as he tried his best not to slip and fall on the muddy ground.

"It's only eight in the fucking morning. I can't believe you made me wake up this early just for you to meet your boyfriend"

"He's not my boyfriend! We're just friends"

"Oh fuck off. You couldn't shut up about him last Wednesday when ya'll went on a date"

"Shut up" Jeongguk grumbled and hopped onto a tiled floor, having finally reached the building.

Namjoon laughed as he followed Jeongguk. "Do you guys have a date tonight too?"

"It's not a date. It won't be as long as he says it is. It's a friend date"

"Friends who go on dates. Sure" Jeongguk could feel Namjoon's smirk without even looking at him.

"I'm going to have to run. See you!" Jeongguk said and waved at the other boy. He smiled and waved and Jeongguk ran across the building as far as he could. Finally in a few minutes, he was able to reach the cafeteria. There were trees and benches built around them for students to hangout.

Jeongguk's sharp eyes scanned the area quickly in search of a particular omega. Before his eyes found him, his alpha senses did. For the sweet addicting scent that seemed to drag Jeongguk towards it like a magnet. It was simply irresistible. Jeongguk's alpha had already gotten addicted to it.

Jeongguk diverted his gaze towards the direction of the smell. His mouth automatically widened into a smile upon seeing the omega sitting on a bench under a tree. He was wrapped in a fluffy brown jacket looking like a fluff ball. Jeongguk's heart swelled with happiness and joy upon seeing the adorable boy.

Jeongguk began making his way towards Taehyung. The omega started looking around, probably having caught onto Jeongguk's scent when he started walking towards Taehyung. Their eyes finally met and Taehyung's mouth widened into an adorable boxy smile.

"Hello" Taehyung greeted as Jeongguk came to a stop in front of him. He patted the seat next to him and the alpha placed his bag on the bench and sat next to Taehyung.

"Hi" Jeongguk said with a smile. "You look beautiful today, milady"

Taehyung giggled. "You look handsome too, my lord"

Jeongguk laughed. He was ecstatic that Taehyung was flirting back at him.

"I bought you a Caramel Macchiato while I waited" Taehyung said and handed over a paper cup with a lid to Jeongguk. "I got myself a hot chocolate"

"Thank you" Jeongguk said, taking the cup from Taehyung's hands. The cup was still warm.

"I got it about five minutes ago. I hope it's not cold, now. Also you like Caramel Macchiato, right?"

"Yeah" Jeongguk smiled. "I drink any kind of coffee"

"I'm relieved" Taehyung smiled and took his own cup, taking a sip.

Jeongguk took a sip from his own. "Tastes awesome"

Taehyung grinned at him.

"I'm sorry for being late, Tae. I give Namjoon a ride every morning but he got a little late because I had to wake him up early. We usually arrive here at around nine so I had to wake him up an hour earlier"

"Is he your roommate?"

"Yeah. He's an alpha too. I have another alpha friend called Yoongi. He lives in his apartment, though. Which is really cool and we can get drunk and go crazy without worrying about being noisy"

"You like partying?"

"Yeah. Don't you?"

"Not really. I get nervous" Taehyung said.

"I understand. Will you still be nervous if you went with a strong alpha?"

Taehyung giggled. "I'm not sure"

"Well I guess there's only one way to find out"

"You want to go to a party with me?"

"I want to take you to a party. Do you want to go with me sometime?"

"Is there any?" Taehyung asked.

"I'll tell you if any of my friends hosts any or if I get invited. I'll take you"

"Okay"

"Parties are fun"

"I don't believe you. You need to show me"

"I'll show you"

Jeongguk couldn't help smiling. They sat so close and Taehyung was facing him. Taehyung looked adorable and Jeongguk's heart swelled with emotion. He wanted to kiss him so badly.

Jeongguk's eyes switched back and forth between the omega's eyes and his lips. But he couldn't do anything. As much as he wanted to, he couldn't. Not until Taehyung says he wants to.

Jeongguk fought his alpha inside and tore his gaze away before he does something he would regret. He took a loud sip from his coffee, making Taehyung laugh. The omega must've been able to notice the change of his scent.

"Oh by the way" Taehyung said, making Jeongguk look back at him. He was rummaging through his bag, in search for something. At last, he took out a camera.

"I brought my camera"

Jeongguk placed his drink of the bench and took the camera from Taehyung. "Nikon" He said, turning it from side to side to see the model.

"Yeah it belongs to my father. He lets me use it" Taehyung said.

"This is a good model" Jeongguk said. "Been a few years since it came out"

"Yeah we got it a few years back"

Jeongguk nodded. "I brought mine too" He said and unzipped his own bag and rummaged through it. He took out the camera and took out his own one. Taehyung took it from Jeongguk's hands and turned it on.

"Canon" Taehyung said.

"Yeah" Jeongguk said as he watched Taehyung turn in around and then bring it close his face to look through the lens.

"What time do you finish your lessons today?" Jeongguk asked.

"Five" Taehyung said. "We have a few tutorial lessons today so it's going to be late. Is that okay?"

"Yeah. Of course. Just give me a call when your lessons are over"

"Okay" Taehyung smiled. "When does yours end?"

"Three"

"You'll have to wait for so long! I'm so sorry. It's alright if we-"Taehyung started to blabber but Jeongguk placed his finger on the omega's mouth, shutting him up.

The omega blushed a deep red and his scent spiked up with embarrassment. Jeongguk smiled at that.

"Don't fret, baby"

Taehyung's eyes widened at the pet name.

"I'll wait for you"

"You don't have to-"

"I want to. I promise"

Taehyung looked away, blushing. "If you say so"

Jeongguk smiled. "I missed you over the weekend. You hardly texted"

"I had some assignments to do and we had a family dinner. I told you, remember?"

Jeongguk nodded. "I remember"

"I missed you too. I like hanging out with you" Taehyung said, not quite meeting Jeongguk's eyes out of shyness.

Jeongguk reached out and brought his hand towards Taehyung's face. The omega looked surprised at first but looked at Jeongguk with beautiful brown eyes that seemed to twinkle in the mellow sunlight.

Taking silence as an answer, Jeongguk slowly placed his hand on the omega's cheek.

The moment his hand met Taehyung's cheek, the omega leaned in and Jeongguk smiled in ecstasy. Taehyung blushed scarlet again but still smiled, looking down shyly.

"You're so beautiful" The words slipped out of Jeongguk's mouth involuntarily.

"You're the only one who says that"

"Then everyone else must be blind"

"What if you're the blind one?"

"My alpha senses are precise, Tae" Jeongguk said. "I'm an alpha, remember"

"You make me forget that. Makes me feel more comfortable with you that way"

Jeongguk's thumb caressed the omega's flushed cheek. It was soft against his hand. Unimaginably soft. As if no one had ever touched his delicate skin. Jeongguk couldn't understand why. Taehyung was worthy of all the love in the world. He deserved to be touched and held and given love.

"I'm so happy to hear that" Jeongguk whispered.

Taehyung smiled. Jeongguk ran his thumb over his cheek one last time before retreating his hand.

"Will you be late to class if we hung out more?" Jeongguk asked.

Taehyung took his phone out and checked the time. "Oh! I need to go. My classes are starting in fifteen minutes and I told Jimin we'll meet in front of the library before classes. Is it okay if I go now?"

"Of course. We'll be meeting in the afternoon anyway. So go" Jeongguk said.

"Okay. I'll see you later, then" Taehyung said as he stood up and put the camera back in his bag.

"Stay warm" Jeongguk said.

"You too" Taehyung said, smiling back at him. Soon, Taehyung was waving at Jeongguk as he disappeared into the university building.

Taehyung couldn't wait till he was done with that day's lectures. He doesn't remember the last time he had been that excited to do something. Or look forward to meeting someone.

He was finally done with that day's lectures and the clock had just struck five. With a skip of excitement on his step, Taehyung made his way towards the cafeteria, where Jeongguk said he would be waiting.

He saw Jeongguk sitting by the bench Taehyung had been sitting earlier that morning. With a smile, the omega made his way towards Jeongguk. The moment the alpha saw him, Jeongguk smiled widely at him, making his own smile widen.

"Hi" Jeongguk said. "How are you?"

"Hello" Taehyung said, coming to a stop in front of the sitting alpha. "I'm doing awesome. I couldn't wait to see you"

Jeongguk smiled. "Me too. Shall we go?"

"Yeah. Where are we going?"

"To the lake. It's a good spot for photos. We can also watch the sunset"

"Sounds awesome" Taehyung said.

"Let's go, then" Jeongguk said standing up. He extended his arm towards Taehyung. The omega was confused at first but then reached his own hand towards the alpha's. Jeongguk took it in his and intertwined their fingers together.

Taehyung smiled shyly at him. His heart bubbled with happiness. "Let's go" He said in a small voice.

They held hands and walked closely to each other along the way towards the car park. When they hopped on Jeongguk's bike, Taehyung happily wrapped his arms around the alpha's waist throughout the ride. Taehyung couldn't stop smiling at all.

In around fifteen minutes they reached the lakeside. They parked Jeongguk's bike in the small car park and started walking towards the area where there were tables and benches built along with a walking track for people.

The lake was located a little further away from the main road, so one can only hear the distant hum of vehicles passing. Jeongguk and Taehyung took a seat by a round wooden table with a bench built around it.

"Shall I get us something to drink?" Jeongguk asked as he set his stuff down on the table.

"Yeah"

"There's a coffee shop over there" Jeongguk said, pointing towards an area where there were a few stalls selling food and drinks. "Shall I go and buy us? Can you wait here?"

"Alone?"

"It won't take more than three minutes. It's not crowded. Or you can come with me"

"It's fine. I'll be fine. I'll look over our cameras until you come. Be quick"

"You sure you'll be fine?"

"There isn't much people around anyway" Taehyung said with a smile. "Come back quickly"

"I will. Scream if you need help" Jeongguk said and nodded at Taehyung one last time before starting to run as fast as he can. Taehyung giggled as he watched the alpha's figure became smaller as he ran into the distance.

With a smile, Taehyung took out his camera and switched it on. He brought it towards his face and looked through the camera at the lake in front of him. It was almost five thirty in the evening and the sunlight had started dim down, making way for the night to fall upon them. However the sunlight was still bright and it made the water of the lake twinkle as if someone had sprayed glitter all over the surface of water.

Taehyung set the camera back on the table and looked over his shoulder towards the way Jeongguk ran to. He could see the alpha in the distance, standing by a shop. He turned back to looked at the lake but what he saw made his heart almost stop.

He saw a man standing a few feet away from him, looking at him.

An alpha, Taehyung could say from the way the man reeked of pheromones. Taehyung scrunched his nose in disgust.

Taehyung helplessly looked back around and saw Jeongguk still standing by the store. He looked back at the man, who stared at him as if he wanted to eat Taehyung. The omega's heartbeat sped up. What is he supposed to do?

Hell broke loose when the man started slowly making his way towards Taehyung.

"You can keep the change" Jeongguk smiled at the shopkeeper and took the two cups into his hands. He was about to turn and walk back to Taehyung when something peculiar caught his nose.

Taehyung's scent.

Jeongguk was able to smell Taehyung's scent miles away. He always had been to. At least after he stared to have feelings for the omega. But now...his scent made him feel nauseous. It's no longer the sweet, strawberry and vanilla scent.

Now, it tasted so bitter that Jeongguk could feel it on his tongue. It was one of fear. Pure fear and nervousness.

Jeongguk knew something was wrong.

His eyes scanned the background and only then did he see Taehyung in the distance. But he wasn't alone.

Jeongguk's alpha worked on his own. He dropped the two cups in his hands and ran as fast as he could. He could feel himself raging, pheromones making all his emotions heighten. His alpha took control of him and all he could think of was Taehyung.

His omega was in danger.

It only took mere seconds for Jeongguk to reach Taehyung. He saw the man standing close to Taehyung and the omega cowering in fear. He was shaking visibly, whimpers escaping his throat.

A growl ripped from Jeongguk throat as he took in his omega's condition. The alpha who stood by him, whose pheromones were high in the air like a pollutant, looked at Jeongguk. He felt his canines come out and his whole body heated up as he bared his teeth at the other alpha.

Jeongguk pushed the alpha with all his force and growled as he bared his canines at him again.

The man staggered back with the force Jeongguk pushed him with and he looked at Jeongguk with fear. It was one alpha's growl of possessiveness and threat to another. And Jeongguk was a true alpha.

Jeongguk growled at the man again, making him take a few steps back before he made way towards Taehyung.

He wrapped his arms around the cowering omega. A low growl escaped his throat and looked back at the man's direction, only to find him gone.

The threat had been eliminated. His omega was safe now.

"Taehyung" Jeongguk's voice came deeper than he had intended.

The omega whimpered in his embrace. Jeongguk's heart clenched with sorrow at the condition of the omega.

Jeongguk tightened his embrace and the omega slowly started uncoiling himself. "Jeongguk?" He whispered.

"Yes. It's me, Tae. I'm here" Jeongguk whispered. The omega trembled again, a whimper escaping his throat before he slowly wrapped his arms around Jeongguk.

"Jeongguk" Taehyung whispered.

"Baby I'm right here. He's gone. You're safe, Tae. Focus on me" Jeongguk said and felt the omega lean closer to him, his face coming into contact with the alpha's neck.

Jeongguk's wolf continued to act on his own. He didn't have to try as he was already releasing relaxing pheromones for Taehyung. The omega kept nudging his nose against Jeongguk's scent glands on his neck, a sigh escaping him as Taehyung visibly relaxed in his arms.

Jeongguk's memory flashed back to the first time they met. It was a similar situation, only difference being the omega had been less anxious back then. Now, the omega looked like he was having an anxiety attack.

Jeongguk and Taehyung held each other for what felt like forever. Jeongguk kept releasing his pheromones and he was sure the air around him stank of mixed scents. The thought that Taehyung now smells like him made Jeongguk's alpha side growl with satisfaction.

When Taehyung finally spoke, his voice trembled. "Is he gone?"

"Yes, Tae. No one will ever try to hurt you as long as I'm here, okay?"

"H-he tried to t-touch me" Taehyung whimpered and he felt the omega's scent spike up with fear and anxiety again.

"Tae, I'm right here with you I won't let anyone lay a finger on you. He's gone, baby. You're safe with me"

"Jeongguk" Taehyung whispered. "Thank you"

"Are you feeling okay, Tae?" Jeongguk asked, voice laced with concern.

It was only then did Taehyung withdrew from Jeongguk, so that the alpha could finally see the omega's tear-stained cheeks. "Y-yeah"

Jeongguk held the omega's face in his hands. There was definitely something off about him, Jeongguk realized. "Are you sure?"

"Y-yeah. Except...except for the fact that I feel so hot all over"

Jeongguk raised his eyebrows in confusion. He placed the back of his palm on the omega's forehead and then his neck, only to find it burning hot.

"Why's your temperature high? And you're sweating" Jeongguk said, panicking.

Taehyung took a shaky breath, eyes unfocused as if he was lost in thought. Then he gasped, startling Jeongguk.

"Jeongguk" Taehyung's voice shook.

"Tae? What's wrong? You're scaring me"

"I...I think..." Taehyung's hands shook and his eyes became glassy with tears again. Jeongguk's heart leaped in his chest from nervousness as he watched the shaking omega in his arms.

"Tae you're scaring me. What's wrong?"

Taehyung gulped and looked at Jeongguk. His lip trembled as if he was about to cry.

"I think I'm on my heat"
