The winter sky at dusk was a fabric of rich hues of pink, purple and orange blended together to create an exquisite painting that would otherwise belong in a museum. Jeongguk had always loved sunsets. He considered sunsets one of the things worth living for. Sunsets were one of the finer things in life for him.

The sunset reminded Jeongguk of Taehyung. Taehyung was one of the most beautiful people he had ever met in his life. Since the first time he had met the omega, he couldn't stop thinking about him. It was like some invisible string pulling him towards the omega. Jeongguk didn't have the strength to fight the attraction.

Maybe it was because their wolves had bonded the first time they met. Scenting was after all a way of bonding for two wolves. And Taehyung always smelled intoxicating.

Jeongguk waited in front of his favorite coffee shop for Taehyung, watching the sunset. He had arrived ten minutes early for their 'friend date'. He wanted to be early. He would jump at any chance to impress Taehyung. And he had been waiting for fifteen minutes now.

Jeongguk took out his phone to check the time and the moment he looked back up, a red mustang pulled up in front of the coffee shop. There were two people inside, Jeongguk could see.

The door of the passenger seat opened and Taehyung stepped out.

Jeongguk's eyes lit up upon seeing the omega come into view. He was dressed differently from earlier that day. Now, he wore a pair of black jeans and a beige turtle neck. Over it he wore a long coat.

Taehyung grinned the moment he saw Jeongguk standing in front of the standing in front of the coffee shop.

"I'm so sorry for being late" Taehyung said as he halted in front of Jeongguk.

Jeongguk smiled at him. "You weren't late at all. I was just early" Jeongguk could wait for Taehyung all day, all night.

"I was! And you should've gone inside! Why are you outside? It's freezing"

"I was waiting for you" Jeongguk said. He couldn't stop smiling. Why did Taehyung make him smile so much? They barely knew each other and they had only met.

"I wanted to wait for you. So I'm the first person you'll see when you're here" Jeongguk said.

"Pfft. You're so cheesy" Taehyung said with a laugh.

Jeongguk grinned. He was about to ask Taehyung to go inside with him when the door of the driver's side opened and out stepped another man.

Jeongguk rose his eyebrows, his full concentration diverted to the man who just stepped out of the red car. The moment he stepped out, Jeongguk's nostrils flared with the smell of strong pheromones. However, amidst all the strong pheromones he could smell a hint of Taehyung's scent.

It may have been because they were in the same air-conditioned space for a while throughout their ride. But it made Jeongguk's alpha growl in anger and possessiveness.

However, the moment the other alpha's eyes landed on Jeongguk, he smiled.

Jeongguk found it hard to smile back.

"Hello. I'm Hoseok, Taehyung's friend" The other alpha said with a wide smile. He extended his arm for a hand shake.

Jeongguk eyed him with suspicion. His thoughts about what the other alpha might be feeling towards were still fresh in his mind. However, the man, Hoseok's smile seemed genuine.

So Jeongguk smiled back, ignoring his wolf's objection, and took the other alpha's hand in his.

"I'm Jeongguk"

"Taehyung told me all about you" Hoseok said. He strangely reminded Jeongguk of a bright sun. Like he could never do anything wrong to anyone.

"Nice to finally meet you" Hoseok said. "Taehyung always rambles about you"

"Hyung!" Taehyung said, punching Hoseok lightly on the arm, making the alpha laugh.

"He does?" Jeongguk was happy to hear that.

"Yeah. Only said nice things" Hoseok said. "But he better not say anything bad about you in the future, hmm?"

Why is Hoseok being protective of Taehyung?

Jeongguk forced a smile. "You won't. You don't have to worry"

"Good. I'll get going" Hoseok said and looked at Taehyung. "Come back to Jimin's room so he can give you a ride home, okay? Don't go alone"

"I won't, hyung. Thank you" Taehyung said with a smile.

Hoseok bid the both of them goodbye and got in the car. Taehyung and Jeongguk watched him drive off.

"Why is he so protective of you?" Jeongguk asked.

Taehyung looked at Jeongguk. His eyes shone under the dying light of the winter sun.

"Because I'm an omega"

Jeongguk was confused.

"I only have Jimin and Hoseok as close friends so they're really protective of me. They always pick me up and give me rides to my house" Taehyung said.

Jeongguk nodded. "I can give you rides too"

"You have a car?"

"I have a motor bicycle"

"Oh my god, really? I've never been on a motor bicycle. I'm scared. What if I fall?"

"You can hold onto me" Jeongguk smiled at him flirtatiously.

Taehyung giggled loudly.

"I'll give you a ride after this" Jeongguk said.

"You're too smooth, Jeongguk" Taehyung was blushing.

"Smooth like butter. I'm going to pull you in like no other"

Taehyung giggled. "Why are you like this?! We agreed to no flirting"

"We did? I think you're mistaken, milady. We agreed to no such thing"

"This is a friend date!"

"Friends can flirt"

"No!"

"We can flirt while being friends"

"What's next? Friends who kiss each other?"

"I mean..." Jeongguk scratched the back of his head with a smirk.

Taehyung pushed Jeongguk lightly. They were standing really close now. "Don't even think about it" His smile was playful.

Jeongguk could only grin. The omega's pheromones had spiked up. He was bubbling with joy.

"We can do whatever you want as friends" Jeongguk whispered.

Their faces were only inches apart. Taehyung stared at Jeongguk intensely. A blush had crept up his cheeks, making them look a lighter hue of scarlet.

"I was watching the sunset before you came here and all I could think of was of you" Jeongguk confessed.

"Why so?" Taehyung whispered.

"The sunset was beautiful but you're even more beautiful"

Taehyung looked away shyly, the blush on his cheeks only deepening. His pheromones turned so sweet that Jeongguk felt drunk on it. Taehyung's scent was one of shyness but also happiness.

"I told you to stop flirting" Taehyung muttered.

"I'm sorry I can't understand that language you're speaking. Your beauty makes me want to admire you all the time"

"Jeongguk" Taehyung muttered.

"Taehyung"

"Let's just go inside. The cold is making me blush"

"Sounds like cap" Jeongguk said. "I'm the only one making you blush"

"Jeongguk let's go" Taehyung whined and took Jeongguk's hand in his. Then he dragged the alpha into the coffee shop.

The moment Jeongguk and Taehyung entered the shop, the smell of freshly baked goods and coffee hit Jeongguk's nostrils making him suck in a deep breath. His nerves sang with satisfaction and happiness.

A few tables were occupied by people who looked like college students. There was only a few people standing at by the casher. The place wasn't busy. It never was. There were a few shops with good coffee all around the university but Jeongguk personally liked this one.

"This is my favorite coffee shop around here" Jeongguk said, turning his head to Taehyung who was looking around with amusement.

"I've never been here" Taehyung said, eyes scanning the shop. "It seems like a nice place"

Jeongguk hummed, eyes still focused on Taehyung, whose features mirrored amusement and job. Hell, Taehyung was pretty.

Jeongguk didn't blame Taehyung for looking so amused. The shop had a vintage vibe to it, with old-looking table and chairs, coffee pots and vintage paintings hung around the place. The whole place had such a comfy vibe.

"I love it here" Taehyung said, finally looking at Jeongguk. "And there's not much people here"

"You like it when there isn't much people?"

"Yeah. I don't know how to deal with people. They tire me"

Jeongguk grinned. Taehyung was adorable.

"Shall we order something?" Jeongguk asked.

"Yeah"

The two of them made their way to the cashier and looked at the menu that hung in front of them.

"What kind of coffee is your favorite?" Jeongguk asked.

"Oh I don't drink coffee"

"What?!" Jeongguk was surprised.

"I don't like coffee"

"What? How? Who doesn't even like coffee?"

Taehyung grinned. "It's bitter!"

"Then add more sugar into it!"

Taehyung laughed. "I don't like the way it tastes"

"I feel betrayed. I never thought it was humanly possible for someone to dislike coffee. I thank whatever deity above for gifting us with coffee"

Taehyung let out a giggle at that. "You're so dramatic"

"I just can't believe you don't like coffee! And I brought you to a coffee shop as our first date. Shit, I should've asked you before I told you to come here. If I only knew-"

"Jeongguk, chill. They have hot chocolate. And I love hot chocolate"

"Okay then"

"Do you like coffee?" Taehyung asked.

"Yeah" Jeongguk said, smiling. "I can't go a single day without my caffeine fix. I at least drink coffee thrice a day"

"That's insane!"

"It's human nature!"

"Am I no human then?!"

"I'm beginning to think you're not. I mean your beauty is out of this world so you must be an offspring of some god"

"Jeongguk!" Taehyung let out a loud giggle. Every time the omega laughed, it sounded like silver bells to Jeongguk. Everything about him was beautiful.

"Facts no printer"

"You're unbelievable"

"So are you. You hate coffee"

"Well I don't hate it. I just don't drink it"

"Well I love coffee. Now every time you see coffee or smell coffee, you'll get reminded of me"

"I sure will" Taehyung grinned. His smile was to die for. Because how could someone be so adorable?

"So what are you ordering?"

"A hot chocolate please" Taehyung said. "You?"

"You're ordering me? Do I look tasty?"

"Jeongguk! Stop flirting for once in your life!"

"Fine! I'm going to order a latte. You should try that strawberry shortcake. It's delicious"

"Really?" Taehyung said, looking at the lines of sweets and food in front of him. "They looks so good. There's so much cakes! I want to eat all of them"

"We don't want your blood sugar to rise up. I'll have to carry you to your dorm otherwise. We can come here from time to time and try all of them"

Taehyung smiled at that. "I really want to but..."

"What?"

"A hot chocolate is enough"

"Why? You just said you wanted to eat all of them" Jeongguk was confused.

"Yeah but they're all so sugary"

"And?"

Taehyung pouted. "I'll gain more weight"

"So what? Who cares? You're still going to be Taehyung, the most beautiful omega in the world"

"It's not like that. I shouldn't gain weight"

"Why not?"

"Omegas should be slim and curvy and-"

"That's bullshit. Omegas should be whatever they want" Jeongguk could feel his anger rising. How dare Taehyung think of himself like that?

Taehyung looked at Jeongguk with big puppy eyes and a pout decorating his plump, rosy lips.

"I will gain weight if I eat it"

"No you won't. Taehyung, the most important thing is you doing what you want in your life. It doesn't matter if you gain weight or not. You're beautiful either way"

Taehyung fumbled with his fingers.

"You're gonna try that strawberry shortcake, you hear me? And then we will come to this place every once in a while and try new cakes. How does that sound?"

"I'd love that but..."

"No buts. I'm going to buy you that"

"Jeongguk!"

"A hot choco right?"

"Yeah. Can you order that for me?"

"Yeah I was going to"

"Aren't you going to ask me why?"

"Isn't it because you have social anxiety?"

"You remembered?"

"Of course, pretty"

Taehyung blushed scarlet again. Jeongguk smiled.

"I didn't think you would" Taehyung muttered.

"Everything about you is interesting and worth remembering"

"You never listen to me, do you?"

"If I didn't, how would I remember everything you've ever said to me?"

"Then you must've heard me saying that you shouldn't first with me!"

"And I told you we can flirt and still be friends!"

"I can never win against you, can I?" Taehyung said with a smile.

Jeongguk could only smirk at that. He winked at Taehyung and felt the omega's scent spike up the next moment. It only made Jeongguk's wolf sing with pride. He was enjoying the way he was able to have these effects on Taehyung.

"You didn't have to add the marshmallows" Taehyung whined with a pout as he sat in front of Jeongguk at a table they had found for themselves.

"You don't like it?" Jeongguk asked.

"I love it" Taehyung pouted.

"Then what's the matter?"

"Nothing. I love it. Did you know I liked it?"

"No one drinks hot chocolate without marshmallows, Taehyung" Jeongguk said with a smile.

"My mom hates it when I drink chocolate and eat cake"

"Why so?" Jeongguk was confused.

"Because I gain weight"

"Oh so she's the problem here"

Taehyung pouted. "She only wants the best for me"

"Huh?"

"She always says how I should look pretty and slim for an alpha"

"That's bullshit. You've only got yourself to impress, Taehyung. You shouldn't live for other people"

"I know but..."

"You should do everything you want okay? You should eat all the cakes you want and drink all the chocolate you want. Got it? I'll make you do everything you like"

Taehyung smiled.

"Impress yourself. We won't be living for too long, you know? So we've got to enjoy our lives while we can. We won't be young forever. We need to be living our lives and doing everything we want to do"

Taehyung nodded. "You're right. But are you doing that?"

"Of course. I'm enjoying my life"

"That's nice"

"Yeah. What do you want to be after you graduate from college?"

"I want to do my Master's degree and became a researcher"

"That's awesome! You'll invent new medicine and stuff?"

Taehyung shrugged. "I guess" He took a bite off his piece of strawberry cake. "This tastes so good oh my god!" He moaned.

Jeongguk laughed at that. "I told you"

"What do you want to be?"

"Therapist. I like talking to people"

"That's cool" Taehyung said and took another bite from the cake.

"What else do you like?" Jeongguk asked and took a sip from his latte.

"I like reading. Also photography"

"Photography? Me too!"

"What kind of photography do you like?" Taehyung asked. And Jeongguk told him. Jeongguk doesn't know how much time they had spent in the coffee shop. All he knew was they stayed there a lot after they both had finished their beverages.

"I also like singing" Jeongguk said.

"Oh? You can sing? You should sing for me one day"

"Sure" Jeongguk smiled.

"Do you play any instruments? I want to learn the violin"

"I play the guitar" Jeongguk said. "I play at a gig on Friday?"

"Whoa really?" Taehyung was amused. "Where do you play?"

"The bar downtown"

"Holy shit that place is big!"

"You should come see some time"

Taehyung's smile faded. Jeongguk's eyebrows furrowed together in confusion at the sudden change of the omega's emotions. He had been laughing and talking for the past hour or so.

"What's wrong?" Jeongguk asked.

"I'd love to see you play. I really want to" Taehyung said. "But I don't think my parents would let me"

"But you're twenty two, right?"

"It's because I'm an omega. They're really protective of me"

"But I'll protect you"

"I know but I can't tell them about you. They...wouldn't like it that I have an alpha friend"

"They don't know about Hoseok?"

"Nope. Only about Jimin. He's my childhood friend"

"But that's ridiculous!"

"I know..."

"Then come with Jimin. Or I'll pick you up"

Taehyung pouted. "I really really want to come. I'll tell Jimin and ask him to come with me"

"I wish you could see me play"

"Me too" Taehyung smiled. "What time?"

"At about ten in the evening. We only play a few songs. We can hang out after that so I'll take care of you"

A rosy blush appeared on the omega's cheeks again. "Okay" he whispered.

"You're adorable, Tae"

"And you're handsome, Gguk"

Jeongguk grinned. "We can stay as friends for as long as you want. I feel privileged just being your friend, even though I want something more"

Taehyung nodded. "I'm sorry"

"No, don't be, please. I don't want you to feel guilty. Please don't do that. I just want to get to know you better. Besides, I really want to be your friend"

"We already are friends, silly"

Jeongguk grinned. "Right"

"You saying you want be my friend is the same thing as some fan girls saying they ship two idols as friends. Like? They're already friends! What do you mean? You don't need to ship them as friends when they already are friends! That doesn't make sense! Would they rather if I shipped my idol with them? I can't with these bitches who ship themselves with those idols. How ridiculous"

Jeongguk laughed.

Taehyung looked at him with an adorable pout.

"You're the fan boy type?" Jeongguk couldn't contain his laughter. "Who do you stan?"

"Harry Styles" Taehyung said.

"I like his music"

"Can you play me one of his songs one day?"

"Anything for you, Tae"

Taehyung clapped his hands happily. "Yay!"

"You're adorable" Jeongguk stated the obvious for the umpteenth time that day, only to be rewarded with the usual roll of eyes by Taehyung.

Jeongguk could only let out a chuckle and listen to the omega ramble on about Harry Styles.

By the time they stepped out of the coffee shop, the night had set in.

"I'll give you a ride" Jeongguk said.

"On your motor bike?" The omega's eyes lit up.

"Yeah"

"Okay! Drop me to Jimin's dorm"

"You aren't going home?"

"Jimin will drop me to my house later. I can't go with you, remember?"

"Right. Your parents won't be able to process the fact that a handsome alpha like me is crushing on their omega son"

Taehyung rolled his eyes.

Jeongguk laughed. "Let's go. I parked it at the back of the shop"

"Okay"

They started making their way towards the back of the shop. A few minutes passed as they slowly walked down the dark road which was only lit up with a few street lamps.

Taehyung was looking around the road, steps careless and a smile stretching his lips slightly. Jeongguk could only smile, seeing the beautiful boy.

"Your hands look cold. Let me hold it"

Taehyung laughed at Jeongguk's request but still entangled his gloved fingers with the alpha's.

It didn't take them more than a few minutes for them to reach Jeongguk's bike. After telling Taehyung how to get on it and giving him a helmet, he started the engine.

"Hold my waist" Jeongguk said.

Jeongguk felt Taehyung's front press against his back and the omega clasped his hands together in front of Jeongguk's waist.

Jeongguk gulped. He could feel the omega's breath tickle against his neck. They had never been this close.it made Jeongguk's stomach feel tingly. Pushing the unnecessary thoughts away before his wolf reacts to them, he raced the bike.

"Ready?"

"Yeah" Taehyung said.

"Gold on tight, baby. Don't let me go"
