why wont you talk?
A N O N -
I saw her that night.
Just like lightening, I saw her as I was tending to the graveyard at the end of the forest. She was sobbing so loudly, for miles you could've heard her, but only I did.
I saw when she was overpowered by the Mayor, future Senator's, son, and I watched when he knocked her unconscious.
It wasnt that I didn't feel bad for the girl. She had always been very nice to me when she'd come by her great grandmother's grave. She brought flowers and balloons, often bringing picnic and eating next to the headstone, talking to her as if she was sitting right there with her.
She was a strange girl, in the sense that she intrigued. Her soul was so pure. I had seen many times with how much care she talked to the animals at the shelter she frequented before, it was such an innocence I had envied. Elena King was the type of person you always likedShe was charismatic and incredibly sweet to everyone, it was no wonder why the town was in complete shock at her disappearance.
I don't know why I didn't speak that night. Fear, maybe. Being the town's reject was hard enough, but I knew if I spoke, no one would believe it. To make matters worse, messing with Zayn was a death wish.
I thought about it everyday. I always remembered that each year since I met and became acquainted with Elena, I received a card and chocolates on my birthday. She was that kind of person.
I could have helped her, I like to think.
But a part of me knows that I wouldn't have been able to do much. There was so much more that lurked in the shadows, it gave me reasons to fear for my life if I ever spoke up.
I'm sorry, Elena.
