I am sad and angry. I've been a member of @Wattpad since 2012 and I've seen many many changes in that time. Some good and some bad but the recent blossoming of groups who say they're here to make certain that rights of certain groups are honored is distressing.

While some of these groups are honestly here to help make certain groups of users are represented, others are nothing more than a group of organized bullies. And the sad fact is, @Wattpad bows to them because they fear being painted with the same brush they paint others. 

A group has come to my attention, I won't name names because I don't approve of opening them up to the same sort of bullying they open others up to.  This group claims they're here to look after the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. They are liars and bullies. They find other groups who have editors or reviewers who list that they don't read books in that genre and attack the community. They claim the community is homophobic and hires people who believe it's a sin to be gay. They do it with zero proof. No screen shots of the users using hate speech or anything else. Just simply that they don't read that genre. 

I don't read fiction, does that me I think reality is a sin? People are allowed to have genres that don't appeal to them. Not everyone reads every genre. Just because they don't read it doesn't make them homophobic. They attack these communities and report them to Wattpad and Wattpad removes chapters or shuts down communities on zero proof of wrong doing. They don't want to be accused of being prejudiced, they bow down and allow these people to bully others and make claims that aren't true. They do zero investigation. It's awful and it makes me angry. 

There's zero recourse for the communities they bully either. They can't appeal to @Wattpad

They can't ask for an investigation. They lose everything because Wattpad bows to the bullies. 

They DM the community ask if they hire people who think being gay is a sin, when the community answers no they attack. They message back and say then why do you have reviewers/editors who don't read books in the LGBTQ+ genre? They block the community without allow them to answer and then report them to Wattpad as being homophobic. They also have a reading list of communities that they claim are not LGBTQ+ friendly, again opening them up to bullying by others on the site. But according to Wattpad, that's all right. It's free speech. Ive seen them allow users with awful usernames calling other races names, books asking that other races be killed. But they claim it's free speech. 

These users attacked communities and those attacked can't fight back because if they do the community attacks and makes them out to be the bad guy. It's an awful practice that Wattpad seems to approve of by their actions. 

If you come across these communities I suggest you do your own research into the communities being named yourself before buying into the claims of people like this. They have an agenda and they will follow it no matter who they harm.
