Politicking ...
Now you are all asking, what the heck is this about? Well, often someone will ask, so are you Republican, Democrat? Liberal, Conservative?
That's kinda hard to answer. I don't consider myself particularly anything. In something's I'm quite conservative. I'm very traditional in a lot of my views.
Family is family. Sit your butt down together and eat a meal. Talk to each other and for God's sake KNOW where your kids are and who their friends are or you're gonna be in deep dog doo and it's your own freaking fault when the cops come knocking on your door with the kid in cuffs. Discipline your kids and tell them NO when it counts. Raise your kids right but don't be a hover overprotective jerk. Know the limits, have a little faith and trust. If you raise your kids correctly then things will work out.
I think you should say Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays. Just because you aren't Christian or Catholic doesn't mean you can't celebrate Christmas. My mom's best friend was Jewish and she celebrated Christmas not because it was Jesus' birthday but for the spirit of the holiday. She wished people Merry Christmas. I don't see the big deal.
Yet on some things, I'm more liberal. I think gay and lesbian couples should be allowed some form of either marriage or civil union or whatever. Their union as a couple should be recognized. After all, they've been allowed to adopt as a couple and become a family, why shouldn't they be allowed to be recognized as a complete family and get those benefits as well? It makes no sense to me. I have no issue with that, be happy folks (on the flip side of that the over the top crazy gay/lesbian groups that make a giant deal out of stuff when people make comments about things drive me batty. The Duck Dynasty guy is a prime example. He's religious, he was stating his opinion, get over it. He made a list never was he comparing being gay to bestiality or terrorism. If you got that from his statements, you weren't paying attention closely.)
I understand the need for groups that stand up for the rights of certain segments of society they are needed. But some stand up and wave their arms wildly in the air for every comment made no matter how tiny and they blow things out of proportion and twist words about to suit their purposes. I find it irritating. Sometimes people say things in a crude manner, but it isn't anything that should be construed as being hate speech or taken as spoken against that group. People need thicker skins these days I think. We've become a little wimpy. What happened to sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me?
I don't think any drug should be legalized, anything that alters the mind to a large degree is not a good thing. We already have too many issues with drunk driving I honestly don't think we need to add drugged driving to that as well. (We've actually had several accidents out here involving people who were high, it didn't end pretty folks trust me) I think glorifying all these drugs sends the wrong message to young people. No offense to anyone but so many young people have no direction, no work ethic and simple don't give a crap about anything in the world, why should we add drugs to the equation that will make them care even less about things? That makes no sense to me.
Do not ask me about immigration ... it will likely start WWIII ...
I don't count myself as either Democrat or Republican. I find both groups have serious issues nowadays. I watch and I'll pick the candidate I most identify with. That's how I pick whom to vote for. So, I think that's about it ...
