"I Have No Inspo ..."

I don't find "I have no inspo" to be a valid excuse for getting out of doing anything. I'm tired of hearing it as an excuse for denying graphics requests because designers don't feel like doing a request.

I am not fond of 1D but I've done covers for people because that is what they requested and it was my job on the thread or in the graphics shop to do the requests given to me. Yes, it's a free thread on a free website and not a "real" job but you're taking it on as a responsibility, so do it.

When you get into the real world are you going to call into work all, "Dude, sorry I'm not coming into work I like have no inspo to make the fries today, sorry." I don't think you'd have a job for very long with that sort of attitude. Do you do that at school when assigned a project? Doubt the teacher would accept the excuse either. I've belonged to threads/groups where, no joke, people denied EVERY request given to them. Why join a design team if you aren't going to do anything?

I feel horrible for people who request when they keep getting denied one after the other. It's frustrating. I want to scream at the other designers. They drive people away when the owner of the thread has to keep reassigning people to the point that there is no one left to assign them to and the person withdraws their request.

On one thread a designer actually denied a girl and said, "I hate teen fic stuff". It's one thing to deny a customer, but you don't insult their work on top of it! She could have simply said, "Denied, I'm sorry I don't do teen fiction." Act like a professional.

Customer service is about making your customer happy. Sending them out the door less than wildly ecstatic isn't what you want. Therefore, denying them for a lame reason like "no inspiration" should make you crawl under a rock in shame.

If you have no time because of school or work, then take a hiatus from graphic work and don't do it for a bit, but don't make your customers suffer because you're busy at the moment. I've been stuck for an idea and gone back and asked the person if they had any more ideas and they've been happy to add to their posts and give more input. If it takes a day or two more, then it does, but it gets done.

I'm just tired of losing out on being a part of some great graphics threads/groups because they end up being closed because people drive customers away and give the shop a bad reputation. It stinks.
