Three Notes
In my parents' bedroom, there's these slips of paper framed that hangs on the wall. They're three notes that my dad wrote my mom when they were in college.
One of them reads "Do you like me? Check one" with three options below it: "Yes", "No Way!", and "Sometimes". My mom checked the yes box and added the words "very much" with a smiley face next to it.
Another asks basically the same question, but there's a word that's been scribbled out in between "you" and "like". (It's my personal theory that my dad was originally going to write "do you love me?" but chickened out halfway through and marked out "love".) The boxes to check for that question was "yes", "no", and "maybe". My mom marked "yes".
The final note asks an even more important question than "do you like me?"; my dad wrote "Will you marry me?" The three choices were "Yes", "Of course", and "Definitely". My mom checked the boxes for all three.
And now they have just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in January. Isn't that just so cute?
(Also, that scene in Tourist Trapped with Mabel's "Yes. Definitely. Absolutely" note always reminds me of my parents.)
