"What are we going to do, storm the palace?" Elizabeth scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"More or less." Gerek shrugged.

The mismatched duo stood on a high hill, their steeds behind them, overlooking the Varicate kingdom- and more importantly, the Varicate castle. While it was defiantly... an impressive structure, Elizabeth found it to be more of a war fortress than a palace, dark and dreary, with a menacing air about it.

It was undoubtedly a place she would never want to enter.

Shaking off her fears, Elizabeth glared at her partner, who was observing the ominous palace with a thoughtful look. "You are joking, right?" She demanded. "And call attention to ourselves like that? That'll end well."

"Like I said, more or less," Gerek repeated, turning on his heel back to their horses.

"And what is that supposed to mean?" Elizabeth turned back to face the young warrior, but refused to budge.

"It'll be more like..." He glanced towards the cloudy sky as he rummaged through his satchel, running through different words in his head. "Sneaking into the palace."

Elizabeth arched a pale eyebrow. "And how are we supposed to do that, genius? You do realize that he has literally thousands of cold-blooded killers for soldiers down there who all wouldn't hesitate before killing us, especially me?" She motioned to herself wildly before crossing her arms.

Chuckling softly, Gerek met Elizabeth's eyes as he pulled out some rope. "Don't worry, Princess. I won't let anything happen to you. Believe it or not, I've grown rather fond of you over the past couple of days."

Elizabeth scoffed, although she was unable to keep the smile off her face. "Well, I suppose that I've grown to tolerate your presence as well, so I'll won't let them touch a hair on your head too."

A mischievous gleam reflected in Gerek's eyes as he tossed the bundle of rope to Elizabeth, who caught it effortlessly. "So what do you say, Your Highness? Are you ready for some high adventure?"

"If it will get my family back, I can handle anything. Bring it on."
