hey loves! today imma be talking a little about mental health awareness because it'ssss mental health awareness dayyyy 😊
so I cannot even begin to stress on the importance of spreading awareness about mental health. I feel that there's a lot to be educated about when it comes to mental health, in terms of the kind of disorders and how to cope with them if you have it, and how to sort of handle a person who has it.
There's a stigma around the idea of mental illness that we need to get rid of asap. The subject itself is almost a taboo in some countries because it's not taken seriously and frankly isn't believed that it's real. This is extremely dangerous because people who do suffer from these illnesses and live in these countries find it hard to reach out to anyone within their area for help.
This then leads them to social media, and this is where the idea of being kind to everyone falls into place. On platforms like Wattpad and Twitter and etc, we need to be kind to each other because you never know what someone is going through. We need to be open and loving, because sometimes it may even save a life.
There's a lot of people on wattpad I talk to or just see talk about self-harm and depression and it honestly shocks me how many there are. There's people who message me talking about how my books bring them joy while they suffer from depression and anxiety like it just makes me so sad as well as like happy I provide them some relief.
For a week leading up to this day, I and a few of my friends along with my psychology teacher organised a few activities to help spread mental awareness. We got a psychiatrist to come in and talk about stress and all that stuff. The main message was to be kind to your mind. So there's also the fact that we also need to take care of ourselves and our mental health, like whenever we're stressed or depressed and etc.
So you guys my friend created a website dedicated to all of this. It has information on mental disorders, how to recognise them and treat them and there's an area where you can talk anonymously and vent as well. It's a great website and I really suggest for you guys to check it out generally, or when you're feeling really down and you want to vent or anything really.

Also babes, you know I'm available as always to message and just vent. There's only so much I can do but listen and give advice but I would suggest checking out the website because it provides more help than I do. Also like lmao I had a very bad experience recently with someone venting out to me about mental problems and like I was then manipulated and harassed after that very badly so I don't appreciate things like that and it's made me very cautious and paranoid.
ONCE AGAIN mental health awareness comes into place because y'all even I go through shit sometimes and like some people here forget that authors are humans too and they need a break too. People put pressure on authors to update update update and that's so stressful because like we have lives too as much as we'd love to write and update.
Anyways I talked too much, the moral is to be kind to everyone, realise that mental illness is real and needs to be talked about more. We need to spread awareness as much as possible because it will ultimately help save lives.
