‪What people need to realize is that comparing people with other people isn't always ok;; it's rude ffs, & it tends to brush aside whatever unique aspects the compared may have‬

‪That is to say, it's SOMETIMES ok, but it does depend. Especially on how much else your impression is..‬

For example, if you admit someone is very good at singing and seems friendly, and also oddly looks like someone else, that's perfectly fine

But if the only thing you say about someone is how they look like someone else, even though they were just being themself or something (not in relation to the similar appearances), that's like saying you don't care about them and only care about how they look like some other guy you like

And it's worse if you favor that similar-looking someone for that mere reason

Saying "[someone] is my favorite because he looks like [someone else]" is almost an awful thing to say

I'm just pissed because one of my friends said this about my ultimate-bias wrecker yesterday, and I already had to get used to the bullshit of people constantly comparing my ultimate bias to Park fucking Jimin from BTS all the time (luckily, almost no one really does that anymore. Also, no offense, I really don't have anything against Jimin-) as well as other similar comparisons between other people.

Does people not realize that it not only disrespects the compared person, but it tarnishes the reputation of the other, too?
