Ramadhan 1438: Day 18
DAY 18:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
ربي اشرح لي صدري و يسر لي أمري...
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Day 18! Days are going soo fast! Time is RUNNING OUT!
Laylatul Qadr is approaching...
Dhikr of the Day
اللهم بلغنا ليلة القدر و تقبل قيامنا و صيامنا و اجعلنا من الذين غفر ما تقدم من ذنوبنا.
Allahuma balighna Laylatul Qadr wa taqabbal qiyamuna wa siyamuna waj3alna minal ladheena ghufira ma taqaddama min dhunubina.
Ameen.
we asked Allah to make us among those who witness Laylatul Qadr.
Before Ramadhan came, we sincerely asked Allah to make us among those who will witness this holy month. Alhamdulillah, we did. There are others who died the day before Ramadhan began, so say alhamdulillah for this blessing.
before Ramadhan began, we started with shopping so that we could keep stock of food at home. Why? Because we don't want to miss ibaadah time. Early preparations give the best results.
Let's not miss this golden chance of witnessing Laylatul Qadr by planning on what ibaadah we will do on that day. Remember: The actual day is unknown, so I recommend we start our preparations early for the last odd 10 days. The earlier prepared, the better.
Action of the Day:
As life goes on, we might witness the following:
Many people have physical flaws. They might be missing a leg, hand, an eye, or other body part. They are tested in some way or the other. You as well are not perfect! You may lack some aspect of beauty. It might be your hair, it might be obesity, it might be crooked backbone.
Subhan Allah! That's how we are created! Perfection is only for Allah, the Most High!
What do we do when we see such things in others? Sometimes you don't even realise you lack something, but other people see it. What should be said in such situations?
Let's revive a sunnah today!
Whenever you see such things in people, NEVER, EVER EVER LAUGH! SOMEONE'S IMPERFECTION MIGHT TURN AROUND AND COME UPON YOU OR YOUR OFFSPRING! We seek Allah's protection from that.
Besides, that's not Islamic etiquette! What are we supposed to say in such situations?
Have a look at what the Messenger of Allah taught us:
الحمد لله الذي عافاني مما ابتلاك به و فضلني على كثير ممن خلق تفضيلا
Alhamdulillahil ladhii 3aafaany mimma ibtalaaka bihi wa fadhalany 3ala kathirin mimman khalaqa tafdhila.
All praise is due to Allah who granted me safety from what He has afflicted you with; and He has conferred on me special favors above a great part of His creation.
What to do:
1. Memorise this du'a.
2. Don't forget to always say it slowly when you see someone having an imperfection.
3. Don't forget to teach your kids or siblings this du'a.
Revive the sunnah! Teach Islamic adab. Thank Allah for the blessings you have and another doesn't.
NB: The du'a in dhikr of the day is not from the narrated du'as of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). It's a personal formulated du'a, but the meaning is good.
Jazakumillah khairan.
