Ramadhan 1438: Day 11
DAY 11:
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
ربي اشرح لي صدري و يسر لي امري...
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Day 11! Alhamdulillah, starting a new journey for the next 10 days.
Dhikr of the Day:
لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله
Laa ilaha illa Allah Muhammadun Rasulullah.
Acknowledge these heavy words and try to reflect on their meanings.
Action of the Day:
Our lives are surrounded by people, our neighbours. They can be your own family or even strangers.
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised us and commanded us to be good to our neighbors. There are many narrations to that effect.
To be honest, it's not easy to be good to some neighbours who are so arrogant and aggressive and just lack the Islamic etiquette; but we did cleanse our hearts some days back, so although he/she still wrongs you, you are good to her/him. As they say, silence and dmile are two powerful tools. One may be acting out in anger, jealousy, or bitterness, but if you use those powerful tools, surely you will win the game; but it needs a lot of sabr. May Allah give us sabr. Ameen.
Life is full of tests. If u are not tested through a family member, then you will be tested by a neighbour or a fellow student. It can be anyoneas long as you are human who lives in a surrounding of people.
Try to do good for one who wrongs you. Maybe Allah will open up his heart and make him realise his mistake.
What we will do today:
1. Arrange something to give ur neighbour. It can be talbina. You would be reviving the sunnah by doing this. It can be as simple as three dates or even a du'a that you make for your neighbour. Remember: If you make du'a for someone, the Angels say, "May Allah give you the same."
It doesn't have to be a food or a drink. It can be a visit too. It can be anything. just see how Ramadhan is going on her side. That's for Muslim neighbours. Give out gifts and create a bond of love between you.
2. For non-Muslim neighbour: You can pay a visit too and that's also a good opportunity to do da'wah there. Of course she might ask about your fast for this Ramadhan. Tell her about Ramadhan, the rewards that it has, and the health benefits of Ramadhan. You can also make du'a to Allah to open up her heart towards Islam.
You just need to figure out what good to do to your neighbour. You know him or her better. It can be a smile.
Smile; it's sunnah!
Have a blessed day.
Jazakumillah khairan.
