Chapter 7

                     Victoria's POV

I sat in my tent, looking directly into the pale canvas. My jaw was clinched tight, and my knuckles were in fists. We were on the phone with hospitals for hours, and didn't get anywhere. None of the Jane doe's even came close to match Niki's description. The trucks came back a little after that and none of them located her In their search either. It seems as if she just disappeared.  The elders called a meeting, which of corse I wasn't allowed to attend. Before I could put up much of a fight Raboso and Cody dragged me back into my tent to calm down. So here I am, restlessly counting the laces that are keeping this tent together. I wondered if the laces in my mind were going to hold together nearly as good. Damn them, damn all of them! I don't need to calm down, I just need my sister back. Just then Raboso came in.

"The meetings over." She said as she pulled up a chair next to me.

"It's about time to." Cody said as he entered the tent as well.

"Well?" I asked to both of them.

"Do we look like elders to you?" Cody said.

"We are just as much in the dark as you are." Raboso finished.

I looked around nervously before Raboso turned to me with understanding eyes. "it's going to be ok. I'm sure they are going to fill us in. You are her sister after all."

I nodded. "We have never been apart." I confessed. "Since our parents" I stopped when I realized the story of my parents didn't need explaining, and it hurt to much to dig any deeper. "It's just been us, you know?"

Cody walked up and knelt before me. "We do." He said referring to his own family loss. "Everyone understands here, and you don't need to explain your frustration to anyone, certainly not to me"

I could see Raboso smiled at that, she was thankful for the kind words he spoke, and that she wasn't the only one trying to hold me together.

I looked up at both of my friends with a sad smile. I was so grateful to them in this moment, more then they'll ever know.

"We are going to find your sister" Raboso promised. "I don't care what it takes, or how many creatures we have to kill in the process.. No matter what condition she's in, she's coming home."

Her speech unintentionally made me feel uneasy. I knew that there was a big chance she wasn't coming home alive, or worse, herself. but to hear her say those words really got to me. She's coming home, alive or dead she will be where she belongs, here..

A few moments later Jared, and his wife Eliana came into the tent. I had a lump In my throat, at the thought that they, as elders new what were the next steps to finding my sister.

"Hello" they both greeted politely to the others before turning to me. "How are you holing up?" Eliana asked.

"I'll be better once I know what's the next step." I said, but immediately realized that it sounded very rude. "I'm just very worried, and being kept in the dark is killing me."

Jared and Eliana looked at one another. Both had dim eyes. I had a feeling I wasn't going to like what they had to say.

Eliana turned back to me and spoke first. "As you know me and Jared are members of the elders, but unfortunately we really don't have a say so since we are not 'elderly'."

Jared took over. "The good news is that we are organizing a search party. The only place for us left to look is all the near, known vampire nests that we haven't been able to Clear yet." I nodded in agreement. I couldn't see why they think I would be disappointed with this news.

"Unfortunately the elders deem it to dangerous for you to join us. They feel that your emotions will put you as well as others in danger" Eliana said looking directly at me.

I stood up from my chair in anger as I looked at both of my teachers in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? Emotions? Of corse I'm emotional! She's my sister. You cant do this!"

"Like they said Vicki, it's not up to them." Raboso said, trying to ease the tide.

"She's right." Jared said. "It's not up to us. They make the rules, we just follow them."

"Well their rules are bullshit!" I said as I sat back in my chair on the verge of tears.

"I should be out there looking! What do they expect me to do? Just sit around here and wait!?"

It suddenly got quiet. And I realized that it's exactly what they ordered me to do.. Just to wait, and hope for they best.

Nikita's POV

I stared up at the ceiling for god knows how long. The blood sucker who I now know by the name of Ash has not came back since my failed attempt at escaping. I knew it probably wasn't going to work because I was way to weak, but it didn't stop me from trying. Now I had little chance of getting out of here with these chains attached to my arms.

When he tossed me back on to the bed I felt a sharp pain in my ribs. I believed I might have damaged the healing process and ended up re braking them. I was lucky the first time to be nocked out cold during the first break. I didn't feel a thing in my sleep. But now I had the joy of being awake through it all.

I heard footsteps, then the door opened slightly. I didn't bother looking in that Direction, but Instead my focus was kept on the ceiling. My sister crept her way into my thoughts. I couldn't imagine what she was going through. If the situation was reversed I'd be losing my mind. I bet they already searched the bank, and the hospitals with obviously no luck.. God I hope she's ok.

"Man, you really did a number on her." A unfamiliar male voice said in amusement.

"Shut up." I knew the voice to be Ash said. "You know good and well I didn't do any of that."

"Someone's defensive." the male voice said. "She's a hunter, I'm not judging."

I snapped out of my daze to turn my head to the door and get a better look.

In the door way beside Ash stood a young man, who couldn't be older then 17. He had a average filled out build for a guy his age, blue eyes, and the blondest hair I had ever seen. My instincts were weak, but I couldn't believe they were that far gone to not realize that their was a warlock in this house, and I was looking right at him.

"One drinks the blood of the living, the other sacrifices children for death. I bet you to our the best of friends." I said in disgust "How fitting."

The blonde laughed. "You weren't kidding" he said to Ash. "Quite the attitude."

"Hence the plate to the head" Ash said.

"Your lucky that I'm weak!" I spat.

"Your lucky Ash is nicer then I am." The blonde said to me.

"Are you sure you want me to heal her?" The blonde asked.

"Your not touching me warlock!" I said in defense.

"See, even she agrees." The blonde said as he tried to leave the room but Ash easily pulled him back in.

"She's in pain, Bain." Ash said.

"and that's a problem because?" The blonde warlock who is now identified as Bain said.

"Because unlike you, I can here her muffled cries of pain from all the way down stairs."

"I thought you vampires could block certain things out, or turn it off altogether?" Bain said with a small grin, while Ash starred at him questionably.

"Alright, alright." Bain said in surrender. "I'll heal the huntress"

"You won't be doing anything of the sort!" I yelled once more.

Bain looked at Ash with a bored expression. Ash rolled his eyes as he started to walk closer to the bed. I immediately tried to sit up in defense but my ribs begged a differ as another shot of pain filled my bones.

"Are you really going to refuse to rid yourself of the agony your feeling?" Ash said standing beside the bed with his eyes cast down on mine.

"Better the pain, then his dark Magic!" I said with narrow eyes casted at the one thing I hated more in this world then vampires, warlocks.

"Well it's a good thing your the hostage then." Bain said with a smug smile as he made his way over to me. "You really don't get a say so"
