chapter 24

Queen Stefani smiled up to the door frame after the Foolish, naive huntress invited her in. She could feel the invisible barrier that kept out the undead fade away. The non suspecting Blondes eyes widened in realization as Stefani stepped inside.

As soon as the well dressed landlord stepped through the front door, she became aware that it was all a charade. The hairs on the back of Nikita's neck stood straight up as her stomach began to turn. "Vampire" she concluded out load. The barrier must have cloaked her identity, she thought

The redhead tilted her head, her lips pouted in disappointment. "Is that any way to speak to a queen?" She asked as she pointed to herself arrogantly.

Nikita fought to conceal the shocked expression that she knew to be showing regardless. "Ash's Sire?" She stated to herself. Red hair, meeting her pale skin with perfection. She were gorgeously devilish.

"I don't clam that mutt!" The queen spat as she looked the huntress over. "But, this is definitely impressive" She had to admit to herself out loud as she stepped closer.

Nikita swallowed nervously as she followed her movements, ready for a attack. "What do you want?" She asked strongly, as if the queen of all vampires did not faze her.

Stefani seemed not to hear the question, but instead began to Circle Nikita as if she were a hot meal, waiting for a man who hasn't eaten in weeks. "Your kind are so difficult to catch." Queen Stefani said as her eyes darted to Nikita's neck. She could have smelled her delicious, rapid Pacing blood from miles away if it weren't  for the charms placed on the home.  Now that she were inside however, the scent was intoxicating, almost overwhelming even. She took a ragged breath as she forced her eyes to look elsewhere. "I trapped one once." She spoke proudly as she recalled the distant memory. "But that stubborn boy wouldn't tell me a thing," She hissed.

With that Nikita Smiled. Of course he wouldn't speak a word. There was no greater dishonor then to betray your own.

"He slit his wrists," She finished with a sigh. The queen still couldn't comprehend what kind of creature didn't have basic survival instincts.

Nikita Smiled proudly. She knew the hunter the blood sucker spoke of. Arthur Lauren went missing In the early 50's and was always presumed dead. Now she knew he died with honor. Something that this she-demon would never understand Nikita thought. This single thought gave Nikita the courage to suddenly dash into the living room. She grabbed a nearby chair, then snapped it in half, holding a long, circular leg out in front of her in defense. "What do you want!" Nikita repeated her earlier question.

The Queen smiled. The huntress'es stunt amused her. "You, of course!" She said as she sped around Nikita. In a instant she was behind her, stake hand pinned against her back. She squeezed her hand so tightly that Nikita was forced to drop the broken chair leg.

The Queen took in her sent once more as her pearly white fangs began to extend. Nikita head-butted her, then slammed her elbow hard into the Queen's ribs. This had no effect on Stefani, in fact it were Nikita's head, and ribs that screamed in pain.

The most abrupt and girlish giggle broke out between the vampires lips. "Oh you poor thing'" She spoke before grabbing a rough, solid hold on Nikita's long blonde hair, gripping it tightly so that she couldn't move. "You can't hurt me," The vampire hissed. "You can't hurt anyone but yourself" she laughed at the irony.

Nikita's shoulders fell as she realized that the queen was right. Bane's spell stopped her from doing harm to anyone, including the psychopath that certainly held her from behind with a death grip. Nikita stopped struggling, realizing that it would be a pointless battle. My fight is over she told herself. Unlike most beings, hunters were not fearful of death. It was not something that they looked forward to, but they understood that it were a necessary part of life, especially to those who choose to take on great evil.

Not able to fight the erge of her inviting blood any longer, The Queen carelessly sank her teeth into Nikita's neck.

Nikita squirmed as She screamed out in Agony. It felt as if a rabid dog latched onto her, and wouldn't let go. She could feel pools of blood spilling out from the Queens mouth, and onto her tan, loose T-shirt. Her eyes felt heavy, she knew that she were losing Consciousness.

The queen let go, Nikita falling to the floor as she did. Stefani pulled out a white napkin from her suit-dress, then began padding her mouth with it, like a regal woman after a messy meal. "My, My" She began as she straightened her posture. "That was delicious!"

Nikita stared upward at the redhead vampire in disgust. She tried to stand, but due to her current lack of blood, it were a fruitless attempt. "Didn't your mother ever teach you not to play with your food?" Nikita asked trough a haze, in hopes that the Vampire would grow angry and kill her quickly, tired of the pain.

Queen Stefani looked down upon the huntress.  Blood covered most her features as her body laid almost lifeless.  Any human would have been dead by now.  She were brave the queen admired. "I am the mother of my kind, dear." She spoke as she grabbed a handful of Nikita's bloody hair, pulling her up to her feet, then dragging her towards the door. "I make the rules!" She spat
Another cry of pain escaped Nikita's lips as the queen tried to pull her outside on to the porch, but the spell kept Nikita in place, inside Ash's home. She felt as if her body werr being pulled apart.

The Queen once again let out a frustrated breath as she stepped back inside the house. "Smart Mutt!" She cursed. "I wanted to bring you home to my children as a souvenir" She said factly, releasing Nikita's hair, instead grabbing her neck again. This time Stefani faced her, pushing her back, then up against the Mansion walls.

Nikita's breath left her body as she struggled for air. The queen held Nikita up over her head, feet dangling just  inches above the floor as she did. "I guess I'll just have to bring them your corpse," She said in disappointment, knowing the only way to brake the spell was death.
Nikita's body fell still as the Queen tightened her grip, suffocating her even more.

Suddenly a load snap rang in Nikita's ears as the hand that held her throat fell, along with Queen Stefani who plummeted to the floor with a load Thug.

Nikita felt her own body fall, Two Strong arms caught her limp body before it could make contact with the floor. Though hazed, she could sense him anywhere. "Ash," she called out into the darkness of her closed eyes.

"Shhh" He whispered, stroking her blood-soaked hair. "I got you," He spoke, guilt growing with the mere sight of her. "Your safe"

In the comfort of his arms She let the darkness win, drifting off into a place where no pain was felt.
