Chapter 17

Note: the picture above is to get a idea of what Raboslo looks like. She is stunning. I choose this look for her because I absolutely love Sally from the American version of Being Human. Anyway enjoy the chapter and don't forget to vote and comment.

                 Victoria's POV

Raboslo lifted a glass jar of herbs off of a shelf In the storage unit and opened the lid. She sniffed the container before setting it back down with a displeased expression. "I hope this isn't meant for consumption."

I laughed. "You do realize all of this stuff belonged to witches, and warlocks don't you? Smelly herbs is probably the least gross thing we are bond to find in here." I said pointing my flashlight all across the unit.

The unit, like the rest of our camp, was in a tent. This tent was stronger and sturdier then the rest, but still portable. Hand made Wooden shelfs ran along the sides of the tent, leaving the middle open for walking, and getting around.

I slapped Raboslo's  hand away as she reached for a spell book. "Don't!" I warned.

"Why not? If it was harmful it wouldn't be laying around would it? Besides it can't be any worse then what's in that jar." She said pointing to the one she recently opened.

I snatched the book out of her hands before she could open it. "Better safe then sorry." I said before stuffing it into my bag, out of her reach.

"Your no fun." She pouted before returning back to her focused self. "Ok, so what are are looking for again?."

"Hell if I know," I admitted. "I know the more powerful stuff is around here somewhere."

"Like the book?" She asked? Eyes eyeing my bag.

"No! We dont mess with spells Raboslo. I'm looking for already charmed items, that way there is no consequences."

After a moments thought she agreed, before bringing to search the area. We opened closet after closet, and dug through every shelf here, but still nothing.

She turned to me with a concerned expression. "The last place left to look is the safe." She said peering behind me to the large lucked metal holding container.

I followed her gaze and let out a defeated breath. "We can't open it without the key." I stated. She shot me the 'duh' look before walking up to the safe. She placed her hands on the safe, tracing the edges with her fingers in thought.

"We better go." I said tapping her shoulder. "Someone's bound to catch us." My eyes wondered the dark tent, making sure everything was where we left it. "We well find another way." I said bringing her out of her trance.

I went to leave before she lightly pulled back on my shoulder. "Tyke." She whispered. "He could get the key."

"Tyke?" I asked a little louder then I should. I took a breath but held my narrowed eyes. "I think the last thing on his to do list is to help us."

"I know." She said. "But he is also the only person I can think of that doesn't play by the rules."

He didn't play by the rules, but he also wouldn't follow anyone elses, including mine.

"Even if you somehow got him to help which is very unlikely, I still wouldn't trust him with this." I admitted.

She let out a laugh. "Trust him, no. No way. Just let me talk to him about it. It would be so much easier then having to somehow break open this safe." She said pointing out how strong it was built to be.  "And it wouldn't be to fun  explaining to the elders as to why it is broken into in the first place."

I ran my hands over my face, obviously frustrated. "Fine, do it. Just don't give to much away when you ask. If he gets ahold of my plans then he could turn us in."

Raboslo stood there, staring at me questionably. "How am going to tell him your plans when I don't even know what they are?" She narrowed her eyes. "You mean you have known what your going to do, but didn't bother to mention it?"

"Raboslo don't be ridiculous. You know that I want to find my sister, at whatever the cost, even if that's my life. Do you honestly think I'm going to involve you anymore than you need to be?"

She looked a bit taken back. Her eyes lowared as she nodded her head 'no'.

"Mabye this isn't such a good idea, i.."

Raboslo cut me off. "Just please let me help you with this." She pleated.

"Alright" i finally said.  "try to get the keys, if you can't then I'll figure something else out on my own. After this I am done risking you." I said truthfully.

She smiled at that and ran over to hug me, but probably looked more like a tackle. "Your a good friend, but I'm not going anywhere." She said before we made our way back to our tents.

                    Nikita's POV

"So? What happened?" Bane asked Ash at breakfast in the living room.

Breakfasts or meals here altogether  were more then a bit strange. You had Ash sitting at the head of the table thankfully grasping a cup of none other then my blood. With every gulp he took i tried my hardest not to have a gag reflex. seated facing me was Ash who proceed to pick at his food. If he wanted something else on his plate he would simply dissappear and reappear seconds later with what he wanted from the kitchen. And then there was me. Who tossed my food from side to side in a daze, trying to block out the craziness around me.

He let out a breath, before looking at me, then back to Bane. I rolled my eyes.

"Are you kidding? You kidnap me, then pump high amounts of blood from me daily, and tell me that I have zero chance of ever going back to my life, but are worried about me herring what mommy dearest had to say? Like I am going to run my mouth! to who? The ceiling fan?

Bane chucked before Ash glared at him. Ash's posture however loosened, actually realizing that I had a point.

"It's your group." He said to me, referring to my fellow hunters.

My heart skipped a beat as I waited to him to speak again. "They are randomly attacking vampire nests all over the place in search of you."

I smiled. They haven't forgotten me.

Ash looked displeased. "I wouldn't be smiling if I were in your shoes."

"What?" I said cockly. "Scared there going to find me?"

Suddenly I was alive again. Truly me for the first time in days. I wasn't in a Mindless obus waiting for time to pass. I wasn't sitting here knowing that I couldn't do anything, and not knowing if anyone else was trying to. There was now a light at the end of this dreadful dark tunnel.

Unknown to me Ash laughed at the irony. He laughed at the poor little girl who had no idea what was headed her way.

"Something funny?" I asked.

"No" He said in between laughs "it really isn't."

"Cut it out!" Bane cursed annoyed. "Can you stop bickering like a old married couple for two seconds and explain to me what the hell is going on?"

Our gazes both shot to Banes.
"We are not bickering!" I stated
"I don't bicker " Ash defended in unison.

We looked back and forth between each other for a few awkward moments before Ash spoke.

"what I was trying to say before The huntress interrupted me" He stated with a glare. "Was that the vampires have begun a retaliation, in short we are now at war."

"We have always been at war." I stated. "We have been fighting since the beginning of time."

Ash's attention was on me again. He had that same 'feel sorry' for look on his face.

It was now Bane who laughed, which Suprised us both. "We haven't been at war. You and the rest of your rat pack have been picking at a larger force  then they could ever handle. In fact that is why we have never been at real war. It's because you have Never been enough of a threat to waste our time."

"there time." Ash corrected Bane. They shared a look before Bane nodded his head.

"It's not our problem now."

"To hell it isn't my problem. My family is going to War!

"A family that you, like me are no longer apart of..."

I stood up so fast knife in hand. Anger radiating off of me like a Land slide. He dared speak of my family as if they abandoned me, when  in fact right now they risked there very life's in search of me because of him.

Ash shot me a waring look before I proceed to attack him. Before the weapon made contact with his skin Bane waved his hand from across the table and I immediately lost consciousness and the world faded away. Unknown to me Ash broke my fall by grabbing me swiftly before I could hit the floor.

                                ~

"She isn't the brightest, that's for sure." Bane stated, and Ash nodded then thanked him for the intervention.

If Bane would not have stopped her, the spell that Ash put on the house would have, causing her actions to backfire. She would've stabbed herself.

"I am going to take her back to her room, and lock her in it this time. At this rate shes only going to get herself killed." Ash said as he picked up Nikita's unconscious body and procided to effortlessly carry her to her room.

Once there he laid her down on the bed, and placed the covers over her. He lingered in her room for a bit, his body leaned against the wall next to where her head was placed.

He watched her chest rise and fall as she breathed. Her lips parted only in the slightest. It was such a simple notion, so human. yet to him it was almost facnating. Sure he breathed but he didn't really need to, vampires only did it out of habit.

Golden blood hair covered parts of her face. he bent down to remove them, brushing them back behind her ears. He regretted doing so just as his fingers gaised the side of her cheek. So warm, so soft. It was hard to imagine who she really was in this moment. She looked so delicate yet he knew her to be strong and ferce. She looked so painfully beautiful, like what he could only imagine a angel to look like if he ever were to met one.

His hand fell from her cheek. mentally kicking himself for having such thoughts as he left the room.
