chapter 15
Victoria's POv

"I am not saying we are going to stop looking for her!" Eliana yelled back at me, angered with my tone. I can't remember a time I have ever raised my voice to her, but when she suggested that we stop focusing on finding Nikita I lost it. "We are still going to do the best we can to find your sister, but for now we have way bigger problems!" She finished, referring to the upcoming war.
I stood there in Eliana and Jared's tent, giving my teachers the death glare. Raboslo, Cody and Tyke watching from behind me. I had a baggy shirt on so they would not see the badges coving my rib cage. Most of the others knew of my run in with the werewolf, but Raboslo made sure that no one would tell the elders, or teachers. I would be under constant watch, not to mention very big truble if they were to find out that I disobeyed deract others to stay put.
"I know the treat we face is great, but what about what Nikita is faced with? Isn't that important to?
"Victoria" Jared said stepping up to me. "Of corse it's important. Don't for a second think that we do not care about her. Who has trained you both ever since your parents passed? He asked sadly.
"You are practically our children." Eliana finished for him, her tone becoming light, and gentle. He smiled at that. As he turned back to me his smile faded, and his expression turned serous.
"But we have to face the facts," He stated again, and I felt my heart pond like a hammer. "She's been missing for nearly a week." He said sadly.
"We dont even know where to begin to look." Tyke spoke hashly from behind me. "We have a war to fight and the fact is we can't spare anyone to search for a dead girl."
I gasped, and Raboslo rushed to me, grabbing my hand in support. She glared back at Tyke, with a stare that could kill, and without a second thought Cody grabbed Tyke and shoved him out of the tent.
"I'm sorry" Raboslo said quickly. "I shouldn't have let him sit in on this, I just thought that since he saved you..."
"It's fine." I lied rubbing my hands over my face. "He's Tyke. What more did you expect?"
~~~
"What the hell is your problem?!" Cody yelled at Tyke once outside the tent.
"What!" Tyke defended. "You can't tell me you don't think Nikita is dead! He yelled pushing Cody's hands off of him. "Everyone is thinking it! I'm just the only one not afraid to admit it."
Cody glared at Tyke. "Just because i think something doesn't mean I go out of my way to crush her! She's going though a lot right now and you should know that just as much as the rest of us." Cody said, referring to the family that Tyke himself has lost.
If humans could growl, Tyke would have. He never talked about his family, and hated even more when people brought them up.
"It's sad, and it sucks but bo ho. Everyone has lost someone. That's the life! She needs to get her shit together and help us prepare for the war we are facing right now!"
Cody let out a breath taking a step back, his anger slowing fading into pity. Tyke obviously didn't have anyone in his life that had any type of feelings. "Just becarful what you say around her, alright?" Cody asked.
A few moments went by before Tyke nodded in agreement.
"Victorias POV."
"I don't like that look." Raboslo said to me later on in my tent. "What are you doing? She asked as I continued to stuff items into my bag before grabbing a flash light.
"Something I shouldn't be doing." I said with a smirk. I began to walk out of my tent when her arms jerked me back.
"Like I am really going to let you leave in the middle of the night without knowing what your doing, or where your going." She said rolling her eyes.
I smiled, it was worth a try.
"Alright, you know our storage unit?" I asked.
Her eyes widened. Everything we have gathered from all different kinds of monsters over the years we have collected and stored for research and safety. "Of corse I do." She said "What about it?"
"A few years back we raided a witches nest. We took many magical items and charms, and placed them in the unit." I said.
"Yes, I know, so?" She asked.
"So, maybe there is something there that can help me." I said making my way out of the tent.
The camp sight was a ghost town as it was passed cerfew and all of the hunters were fast asleep. The cool night breeze felt amazing against my nerves hot skin. I shivered, before grabbing my flashlight tighter and beginning to walk to the storage unit.
"Are you crazy!" Raboslo quietly yelled from behind me as she rushed to put on her leather jacket. "How many times do I have to ask if your crazy?" She asked herself. "Wait up!"
She caught up to me, catching her breath as she did. "You can't just keep breaking the rules!"
I ignored her and kept walking. She wasn't wrong though. I have broken so many rules in such a short period of time, and it was bond to catch up to me. It was just a matter of time.
I shined the light on the unit tent and smiled. I looked over at Raboslo who shook her head in disapproval. "You coming?" I asked her through a mischievous grin.
She looked back to camp, pondering on it for a momemt. Eventually she cursed under her breath before following me in. "Damn you!"
Nikita's POV.
Ash has been gone for hours without a word. Normally I wouldn't care, but my Damn curiosity wouldn't let it go. His sire has called him? For what? About me? Or about something else entirely. Did anyone else know I was here?
Bane looked unfazed, in fact I believed he couldn't care less. I tried asking him about it, but he shut me down saying that he wasn't Ash, and couldn't be munipulated into speaking.
He eventually got tired of me and left the living room and went to the kitchen. After a few chanel searches to no result I went to the kitchen myself. I sat at the counter and watched him cook something way to fancie for my taste.
"You ever met his sire?" I asked, peering over his shoulder into the dish he was stirring.
He let out a annoyed breath. "You know there are ways I can make you shut up. Mabye magicly glue your mouth together? Or I can get creative and just spell cast your tongue out?"
I ignored his sarcasm. Not amused with his treats.
He lightly tapped the wooden spoon over the pan, before setting it off to the side. The dish was obviously not done and needed more time to cook. He placed his hands over the counter, resting himself there.
"I met her a few times, when I was younger." He began.
"She?" I asked. And nodded at him to keep going.
"She used to come here, just to torment him. She hates him," he addmited. "Me obviously to.
"Because of the blood disease?" I asked again, and he nodded. "And she hates you.. because.."
"Because I'm not one of them. We dont mix well." He finished.
"I know that." I responded.
"Ah Yes, Ash has told me that you know a lot from 'your books' " He mocked the last two words using his fingers.
I rolled my eyes, looking back at the pan. The contents began steaming and even I had to admit that it smelt great.
"So tell me, why do you hate me so much?" I asked. "I mean I know that your you, and I am me, and we are not supposed to get along but it's deeper then that. You despise me.. why?"
"Why do you care?" He snapped.
"I don't" I said truthfully. "I'm just curious."
He thought about it for a moment before picking up the wooden spoon and stirring the food again. "Well, hunters killed my parents, my entire coven. So forgive me if I am not to fond." He said hashly. So much emotion in each word.
My group itself has taken out many covens, and witches. I didn't feel bad about it though. They deserved it. Every single one.
"I'm not to fond of vampires." I admitted. He tuned his head to me. Suprised with the change in subject. For once I was telling him about myself instead of integrating. "I mean monsters are monsters, and I hold no farotisem but I can't help hating them most." I admitted. "They killed my parents, and many others in my group, good people."
He laughed at that. "Good people" He repeated. "It depends on how you look at it I guess."
"No, not really. Good people don't rip your throat out, or eat kids." I spat, anger slipping out of me.
"You have a fetish with children don't you?" He asked taste testing the food.
"No, I don't. I just saved many kids from almost being eaten!" I said in disgust.
He looked taken back by my words but only for a moment.
Once he deemed that it tasted good, he pulled out two plates and placed half the food on mine. He began eating right away and a thought came to mind.
"if you are a powerful warlock. Why not just magicly create your food?" I asked looking down at the plates.
He smiled, as if savoring a memory. "I wasn't raised that way."
