chapter 13
Nikita's POV.
I sat on the couch and occasionally switched stations. I never really sat down to watch TV before. Back at camp we didn't have TV's or video games, anything digital bedsides a walkie talkie was out of the question. No one really minded it though because that's just how we lived. We spent most of our days training, learning and training again. But now? Three whole days have passed and I have done nothing but sleep eat and switch through the stations. My skin began to lose its tan which on me I knew must of looked unflattering. I was beginning to look like the undead I was now leaving with.
I crunched on a bag of potato chips as i watched this girl through the digital box cry to dramatic music. She began yelling through her tears at the man facing her. She then pulled him into a unexpected kiss before pushing him away, and slapping him hard across the face. I sat there, head tilted wondering if this was how things were in the outside world.
Someone snorted from behind me, and I didn't have to turn around to know it was Ash.
"Can I help you?" I asked from my spot on the couch, as I kept my attention on the dramatics unfolding before me.
"I just didn't peg you for the soap apra type." He said as he walked over beside the coach.
"Soap opera" I asked. Nevermind "like I said can I help you?"
He peered down at me. "No." He said as he looked back at the TV. The man suddenly dropped to his knees and proposed to the woman. She looked happily at him through her tears as she said yes, and he slipped the ring on to her finger.
I looked back up at Ash, wondering why he was even here. The past three days I've seen little of Ash, and even less of Bane.
"Do you need something?" I asked feeling uncomfortable with his awkward presence.
"No," he said again. "this just happeneds to be my favorite series."
"Shut up!" I said in disbelief. "It's not.."
I looked back to the screen and they were no doubt fighting once again. She flung the all to expensive ring across the room and slammed the door in his face.
He chuckled a bit. "It's not. Never seen it and wouldn't want to." he laughed again truthfully.
To my surprise I began to Laugh. Just the thought of him sitting through seasons of this was outrageous. He looked down at me oddly as if not expecting me to join in on his humor. I didn't expect it either. You are way to bored Nikita..
Suddenly his expiration froze as he looked to be in some sort of trance. At first I thought of it as some sort of joke, but after a few moments went by I knew it wasn't. I shut off the TV and walked over to his frozen still body. I waved my hand in front of his face, but to my amazement he didn't even blink.
"Bane!" I yelled.
What the hell are you doing? The voice in my head asked myself. Why are you calling out for him? These men are your captors for god sakes! So he is in some dazed state. Why is that your problem, or concern?
Nevertheless I yelled Banes name once more.
Out of a layer of green smoke Bane appeared right in front of me, potion bomb in hand. He scanned the room looking for a attacker before looking back at me in confusion.
I raised my hands in defense, before slowly poniting at Ash across the room. Bane followed my gaze to Ash's still frozen body before he relaxed.
I looked at him oddly. "So a frozen guy in your living room is no biggie?"
"He is not frozen." Bane said boredly as he sat on the coach and flipped the TV Back on with the remote.
I walked over to Ash cautiously, then began to poke at him. "He looks pretty damn frozen to me!" I stated.
"Who watches this?" He asked horrified, before changing the Chanel. If I wasn't so fascinated with the current scenario, I might have chuckled.
He turned to me, obviously annoyed.
"I thought you were a expert on the supernatural? Surly you know about the sire's call?" He said unimpressed.
A Sire's call? In my study's those were performed by the kings or queens of individual vampire nest's. The nest leader would send out a call, much like a beacon to all of there children, vampires they sired. Once the sire's call was made, they would have no choice but to drop what they were doing and come immediately. Much like they were under a uncontrollable trance. The sire's bond on there children would fade eventually with age, but obviously not on Ash yet.
"I know about it." I Answered in awe looking at Ash. It was one thing to read about it in books, but to see it for yourself didn't even compare.
Suddenly Ash began walking out of the room, and I followed him as he did. I barely notice Bane following us. I watched as ash tuned down the hall, and to the door. His steps were slow and steady, but oddly determined. They did not look like his own, but more of someone possessed. He opened the door so forcefully that I was sure the hinges would fly off, but didn't. I began following Ash again as he made his way out the door.
"I wouldn't do that." Said Bane from behind me.
To late.
As my one foot made contact with the porch I was thrown back by a invisible force field. My back hit the old wooden floor boards hard as I slid back across the hall. Bane closed the door with a magic flick of his hand.
I gasped for air while I stood.
"I told you not.." Bane began.
"Don't even start." I told him, Index finger raised in warning as I grasped the wall for support.

Victoria's POV
Tree days have passed since the attack, and I could just barely stand on my own two feet. The news of the enemy's alliance spread fast among camp, and emergency preparations have already begun. Trucks have been sent out to gather more supplys Such as food, medical aid, and weapons. All able hunters are out on watch, or tending the the wonded, such as me.
Raboso woke up two days ago, and I was very relieved that other then the concussion she didn't suffer anything more major then a few scrapes and bruises. Jared, is also doing a lot better considering how he looked when Elaina carried him out of the nest. He now had a sling wrapped around his arm, and walked with a slight limp due to a sprained ankle.
Cody and Tyke were still brused on there face, but it had already gone down greatly due to our rapid healing. Tyke now however wore white stitches across the side off his face from the werewolfs claws.
"Time to go for a walk." Said raboso. "Some sun could do you some good."
I looked down at my stomach that was still massively rapped in bandages. Not only did my skin hurt from the taring, but my bones also ached. no doubt the claws nicked a few ribs. I however didn't let on how much pain I was in because I wanted to get out of here as fast as possible, and Stricked bed rest wouldn't help with that.
I braced myself for the pain as I stood up, Raboso leading a hand as I did. She helped me put on my shoes before we slowly made our way out of my tent. The sun was unbelievably bright as I adjusted my eyes to the light. The heat bummed down on me like I was a pastry in the oven. Raboso took my arm and rested it over her shoulders for support before we began walking again.
The camp was buzzing with activity. People were training, building, and working hard for the upcoming threat. Countless Hunters stopped on our way to ask how I was. So many so that I didn't think I new the half of them, but nonetheless it lifted my spirits. Soon we reached the end of camp, and we now sat on the Riverside.
"How are you?" Raboso asked. "And I don't ask like the rest of them back there." She pointed back at camp. "I actually care, and am here to listen." she said strongly yet gentle in a way that only she could do.
"I'm fine." I forced, but knew she didn't buy it for a second.
A few silent moments went by before she spoke again. "Cody told me what happened the night of the attack. He told me what you said about your sister."
"I was just delusional." I lied. She wouldn't believe me anyway, no one would.
"Don't, just don't. We have been friends for longer then I can remember, and I know you better then you know yourself. You don't for a second believe that you were hallucinating." She stated factly before looking off into the water.
"I'm not going to judge you Vicki. It could've been her," she paused "or you could be crazy," she laughed. "either way I still love you."
I gave her a smile, my first true smile in days. She truly was a amazing soul. "Thank you. And I'm not crazy. I know that Cody is skeptical, but i know what I saw.. heard" I corrected myself.
"I believe you." She said. "Or at least that you believe it. Whatever the case I'm here no matter what." She stated and I smiled kindly. "Vick?" She asked turning her head, black silky hair waving in the breeze. "How would Nikita talk to you if she wasn't even there? You said you heard her but didn't see her?" She asked cautiously.
"Yeah." I said quietly, relizing how weird is sounded coming from someone else. "It was like we were connected somehow.." I stopped, it was just to strange to explain, let alone understand.
"It sounds kinda like a.. no.. she wouldn't be able to do that." Raboso mumbled.
I turned my body towards her, interested entirely with what she was going to say. "No, please. What does it sound like?" I asked. She looked taken back. She wasn't expecting a sudden outburst.
"What you described kinda sounds like a Sorcerer's Communication spell. I've read many books on witches and warlocks. They use spells like that to talk to one another, or locate eachother." She said before she shook her head, putting her hands between her legs. "But like I said, it couldn't be Nikita. She can't perform magic, let alone a spell at that magnitude."
I thought on that for a moment, as well as what my sister told me. "She's not alone." I said in realization. "In our conversation she mentioned a man. Mabye a warlock?" I asked her, hoping for reassurance.
She pondered on it for a moment before catching my eyes again. "Alright, let's just say that this was the case. What would she be doing with a warlock?" Raboso asked.
"I don't know. The way she spoke to me sounded like she really didn't have a choice in the matter." I replied. "If she was being held captive why would he let her contact me?" I asked.
"To lure you there?" She asked. "A trap?"
"No" I shook my head. "she would've let me know where she was, or who she was with if that was the case. What does he even want with her! I said, frustrated with it all.
"Like I said before, this theory just doesn't make sense."
"No, I think we are really on to something here." I defended.
Raboso looked back to the water, obviously conflicted. She stood up and dusted herself off before reaching a hand down to me. "Come on, we've been gone long enough, and your not the only patient under my watch."
I nodded My head, grateful for the help. I clenched my stomach in pain as we slowly walked back to camp.
