chapter 12

Nikita's POV

I sat in silence in my room, book in hand, and pen hovering just above the paper. I thought I might begin to write my experiences down again, like I did back at camp with my hunters jernal.

I stayed there, just about to write but then shaking my head, and lifting my pen back up again. I always had a hard time writing, but this had to be the worst. How could I put anything down, and expect anyone to read it? Or to learn anything from it? I was such a falier, and I felt as if my sister felt that to.

Talking to her through the spell was one of the hardest things I had to do. To hear how cunfused, and disappointed she felt nearly killed me. I wished I could explain, make her understand. But to do that I'd have to give her information that they wouldn't let me. I was extremely sad that the spell didn't even let me see her. But on the other hand I was relieved, because I wouldn't have to see the disappoint, and anger on her face.

I sat the book down beside me in defeat, before getting off the bed. I walked over to the book shelf, and ran my fingers over the many titles. Most were medical teams that I didn't know, let alone could produce. Some cought me by surprise. Novels from mark Twain, Jules Verne, and Jane Austen stuck out. I didn't take monsters as the reading types, let alone classical reads.

My stomach growled very unladylike and i groined. The sun went down awhile ago, but I had no idea what time it was since there wasn't a single clock in my room. I decided that I'd just go down myself and find some food since no one has bothered to bring me up anything.

I left my room, then turned down the brightly colored hall. The staircase was rather long, and spiraled down in a circle. Now downstairs, I walked to the kitchen, and cursed when I saw Bane cooking something up on the stove. I went to turn around and leave before he said. "Don't bother."

I turned back around, and walked into the room. "I just thought you'd what me out of your hair" I lied. I didn't want to be anywhere near him.

He smiled, as he stirred what must of been a stew around in his dish pan. "How thoughtful" he said knowingly.

I rolled my eyes. "I tried being nice. I don't like you, so can we skip the run around?" I said truthfully.

He looked up from his cooking. "Certainly, after all the feeling is mutual."

I sat on the chair next to the countertop and nodded in agreement. We sat there in silence for a few minutes until Ash walked into the room. "What a nice surprise." He said looking between to two of us. I rolled my eyes and Bane looked uncomfortable.

"Stew?" Ash asked as he peaked his head over Bane to look in the pan. "Isn't this the sixth time this week,?" He asked "and it's only Thursday." He added seconds later with a grossed out face.

Bane grabbed two plates, then turned back to Ash unfazed by his mocking. "First off, you don't even eat food.. Secondly, you drink blood everyday, till eternity, so you really can't mock me for eating something similar, more then once a week."

I chuckled.  They both turned to me, and suddenly the wall paper to the right looked rather interesting.

Bane sat a plate of stew down in front of me, before making himself one, then sitting down. I glanced over at Ash, wondering what he was going to do, but he was already looking at me, witch made the situation more awkward. He smiled before he shook his head. "I usually eat here, but I'd hate to see you puke all over this place."

I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, OK" I said as I grabbed my spoon and begain to eat.

This time it was Bane who chuckled, knowing something I didn't.

"Ok, Bane." Ash said. "Wip me up my favorite."

Bane went to the fridge, and pulled out a few bags, blood bags. He opened the top before pouring the blood into a large glass. Ash smiled as he sat next to me, with a victorious grin. I gulped, knowing that i was beginning to be grossed out, especially since it was my own blood. I kept it together and continued eating my stew.
To my surprise he stuck the glass into the microwave.

Once it beeped, Bane took it out, placed a straw in it, and handed it to Ash. "There you go, a perfect 98 degrees."

I looked between the both of them, wondering if they were serous. Ash smiled at Bane, then back to me. "How did you think I ate it?"

I must admit that I haven't given it much thought, but to stick it in the microwave as if it were a TV dinner wouldn't have been my first guess.

We sat in silence after that, while me and Bane ate our stew, Ash begain to slurp up my blood from the glass. I swallowed down my food hard, hoping to God that it wouldn't come up again. Ash smiled. "I tried being nice to," he referenced Banes words in our earlier conversation. It hit me that he over heard  everything. " but this woman is obviously not civilized." He finished.

I stood up, on the verge of vomiting. "Civilized? Are you serious! You are anything but! You kidnapped me, drained my blood, then Lough as I watch you drink it, and I am uncivilized? Unbelievable!" I yelled as I stood up and pushed my food away. My entire apatite gone. "I'm going back to my room, goodnight..or day.. Whatever the hell it is for you.." I finshed as I walked out of the room.

"She's a feisty one." I heard as I walked back upstairs.

Victoria's POV

"Get up!" I heard Cody yelled though my unconsciousness, as he lightly brushed the bloody hair out of my face.

"I tired to keep her awake." Tyke spoke with worry.

"It's alright" Cody's said.

"I didn't know what else to do." Tyke added. "Mabye we should take her to the elders."

"No" Cody demanded.  "You did the right thing by bringing her to me."

It was silent for a few moments before I was being gently shook again. "Victoria! Wake up."

My eyes felt heavy as I opened them. Only a dim candel lit the tent we were in. Codys tent. My eyes fell on Cody and Tyke, who were looming over the bed I was laying in. I gasped slightly as I took in there faces. Cody, was black and blue, with blood that didn't look like his own splattered on his face. Tyke looked similar, expect his face wore a large scratch, almost like a claw mark on the side of his cheek.

"How are you feeling?" Cody asked.

How did I feel? I didn't feel much of anything at the moment. I tried to sit up and that's when it hit me, Like a  title wave. My stomach felt like it was torn from the inside out, and it was. I cried out in pain, and Tyke pushed me back down. "Are you crazy!? She is crazy!" He said in disbelief. "You'd think that having your insides redecorated with put some senses into you!"

Cody glared at him, no doubt irritated with the way he spoke to me. "Your going to be fine Vic." He said turning back to me. "It's a deep scratch, but luckily it didn't hit any major arteries, so you won't bleed to death." He said, trying to keep his voice light. "Mostly, it will just be painful and take time to heal." He said. I nodded to him in thanks, still feeling weak and drained from the blood loss. "Your both lucky it isn't a blood moon." He finished, looking back and forth between mine and tykes scratches.

I looked down to my stomach and saw that my shirt had been rolled up just passed my mid section. A big white bandage now wrapped tightly around it. I looked up at the two of them  impressed with there medical knowledge. And here I thought that they slept through all of the none active classes.

"Now, can you stay with Vicki, while I go check on the others?" Cody asked Tyke. His voice, and demeanor more in charge then ever.

"Raboso!" I yelled out her name, just now remembering Cody carrying out her motionless body. "Is she alright?" I asked, trying to push myself up, before Tyke shoved me back down again.

"She's beat up like the rest of us. A vamp slung her against a wall, and it nocked her out cold. The enders say she should wake up soon. She will be fine, Don't worry." He spoke sincerely putting a soothing arm on my shoulder. It was obvious that he to had shared the same worry.

I looked around the dark tent in confusion. "My sister, she was here?" I asked hopeful. Her voice still fresh in my mind.

Cody shared a odd look with Tyke. "It's just been you and me, until I brought you to Cody." Tyke answered. "Your sister's still missing. He added.

"But I could swear I heard... I know I did. I couldn't see her, but I heard her." I began rambling, knowing good and well I wasn't crazy.

"You've lost a lot of blood, and you miss your sister greatly. It makes sense that your mind would make up.." Cody said before I cut him off.

"My 'mind' didn't make up anything!" I yelled unintentionally load. "I know my sister! Don't you think I'd know her from some delusional fantasy?"

"No." Tyke stated with a 'your a idiot' tone. "That's why it's called a delusion." He said slowly as if I were insane.

Cody rolled his eyes at Tyke. "You finely did something decent for the first time in your life, and your going to ruin it by arguing with a injured girl who is stuffing from a great loss?" Cody shook his head and turned his attention back on me.

"Your not crazy Vic. You have just been though a lot, the whole camp has. It's a war zone out there. So many injured, some dead even." He stated sadly. We haven't lost anyone from a hunt since my parents died.

"What the hell happened back there?" Tyke asked in anger as he shifted his weight. His hand reached up to his cheek, lightly tracing the claw marks."Why were there werewolfs?" He asked looking to the both of us. "We raded a vamp nest! We weren't prepared for werewolfs!" He said looking cunfused, and frustrated.

I turned my to face the top of the tent. I couldn't bare to look at there brused and bloody faces any longer. I remembered the werewolfs words. "Thanks to you, we made a truce."

"They have come together as one." I spoke to the both of them still looking up, and not at them. "Due to my sister's disappearance. We Have been attacking way more nests then we normally would. Both vampires and werewolves have taken it as a sign of full blown war. They have called a truce, and are now working together for our extinction." I said, before bracing myself to look back to them.

Tyke and codys faces went pale, as they exchanged looks. It would only be a matter of time before more monsters would join in to rid us once and for all. We have always had there hatred for eachother as a upper hand. They were to focussed on there egos and power play to worry about us. But now? Anything was on the table, and if we thought this last attack was bad, it wouldn't even compare to what is to come next.
