Peace
*August 3*
Margaret looked out of the window and watched the sunrise. She smiled at the beautiful colors the sunrise made. She was the only one awake and she preferred it that way at the moment.
It took a lot of work, but she was now in a better place mentally. She started seeing a therapist and for a short time she did have to take multiple medications to help her through it. But now she was down to her sleeping pills only. Which she only took once in a while when she really needed it.
She still dealt with a few issues due the incident but again, she was in a much better place. She was proud of herself for where she was now mentally.
The summer was coming to an end and after talking it over, Charles and Margaret decided to just say yes to a family vacation.
They chose Los Angeles, California and they would be staying a week. Leading up to their vacation, they worked with Isaiah's behavior therapist to help Isaiah understand what was going to happen.
They told him about how they were going to get on an airplane and fly to a new place where they would be able to go to the beach and do some fun activities. The therapist also showed Margaret some ways on how to keep Isaiah preoccupied on the plane ride.
Thankfully, the six hour or so plane ride was a success. The activities that Margaret brought along on the plane for Isaiah, helped him be preoccupied and not be bored. Also what helped was that he took a two hour nap in between activities.
When the plane took off, Isaiah was sitting in between Charles and Margaret. He was a little afraid and held onto Margaret's hand tightly. But once the plane was in the air, he smiled and wanted to look out the window.
He was so excited that he did get a little too loud but Margaret quickly was able to calm him down. He wanted to switch seats with Margaret and he was able to look out the window whenever he wanted.
When they finally arrived, they got their luggage and soon they were at their beach house. They took things easy on their first day. Everyone was getting to know their new surroundings, so they just stayed at the beach house and hung out.
They watched a movie, played board games and just be in each other's company.
Hannah was with them and she was so excited as well. She vaguely remembered the times before Isaiah was brought home of the family vacations with her parents. So, she was more than happy to finally go somewhere and have a chance to make new memories with her family.
Khaila was with them as well. Margaret had invited her because she was a part of their family. Eddie wasn't able to come along because he had a few projects he needed to finish. Khaila again felt grateful to have been able to join the Lewins on vacation.
The beach house they rented had three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Margaret and Charles got the master bedroom which had the most beautiful view of the ocean. Which is where she was currently watching the sunrise. Khaila and Hannah would be sharing a room while Isaiah had his own room.
The beach was right in their backyard and today would be the day that they would be going to the beach. Isaiah's first time ever seeing a beach in person.
Margaret smiled at the thought of Isaiah playing in the sand and building sandcastles with Charles. Charles was already planning on teaching Isaiah how to make the perfect sandcastle.
The sun was now shining bright and a sense of peace came over Margaret. She was determined not to let herself fall back into the depression she was in. She wanted this vacation to be great so, she didn't want to spoil it for anyone.
Margaret heard Charles moving around behind her and a few seconds later, she felt his arms wrap around her. She smiled more and melted into him.
"Good morning, beautiful." Charles said as he swayed a little, kissing the side of her face.
"Good morning, handsome." She replied.
She turned in his arms and wrapped her arms around his neck. Charles kissed her lips then he placed his forehead onto hers.
"This feels nice." Charles said. "I can't believe we are on vacation in another state. Isaiah did a good job on the plane yesterday. I'm so proud of him."
"Me too." Margaret said as she looked at Charles. "I'm glad we prepared him and that we took a chance to come on this trip. I can't wait to take him on the beach today. I know Isaiah is going to love it. Hannah too."
Charles kissed her once more then said. "Let's go to the kitchen and I'll make everyone some breakfast."
"I was going to make breakfast." Margaret said.
"Nope. I am." Charles said. "You've been through a lot and you deserve to have a break. Let me do this, okay? We're here a whole week. If you want you can cook another day."
Margaret chuckled then nodded. "Alright. Let's go."
Going to stop this chapter here. I know it was an abrupt ending lol sorry about that.
So, what do y'all think of Isaiah's first plane ride? What should the Lewin's do while on this trip? Please comment below of what you would like to see happen.
