Capitolo quattordici (14)

Ziva's POV

For three weeks we've been trying to make a layout of the American Mafia base. Luciano had Antonio make a microscopic fly with a built in camera. We believed we had the whole place scoped out. Antonio had also made a silent flying drone to hover over the base so we could get the schedule of their shifts. It took patience and concentration. Patience I didn't have because my sister could be dead already, God forbid.

"What have you been up to?" Nik questions as soon as he enters my room.

"What do you mean?" I asked while busily typing on the laptop. I opened a new tab in case he takes a peak on the screen.

"You know what I mean?" he gave me a pointed look. He was right. I've been a little preoccupied and secretive for the past week. Luciano was getting suspicious but I didn't think Nik would have noticed. I should've known better.

"I'm leaving after everything is done," I told him.

"Expected but why?" he nodded.

"I just have to for the safety of everyone," I replied.

"There will be no more threats for a while, so what safety are you referring to?" he tilted his head, a thing he did when he was trying to get the truth out of me.

"Fine," I motioned for him to come closer and what I whispered in his ear had him frozen to the spot.

"Are you going to tell Luciano?" he asked and I shook my head.

"I can't because then he'll try to convince me to stay," I said and nodded in understanding.

"Where are you planning on going?"

"I don't know yet," I lied and he nodded.

"Good luck," he hugged me and left.

"We're smoking each section which will have them at the emergency exit where we will be waiting for them. Ziva, she's all yours," Luciano repeated the plan and we nodded.

"Alright, let's go," he instructed and we moved in. Let's just say my mother was smart but the Mafia was not for her. I'm sure my father did a better than this. There was absolutely no security system, the shifts for her guards were shit.

Boom!

"Section C clear," Ares, one of Luciano's men informed us. There was an uproar of bullets and shouting afterwards. I was suddenly attacked and he was so skinny, I slammed his head into the wall, cracking his skull, then shooting him in the heart to make sure he's dead.

Boom!

"Section A clear," Nik said and I saw four men running in my direction. Well this will be fun. Fighting my way through and killing them instantly. I had no time to waste.

"Ahhh!" I heard a woman shriek coming towards me rapidly.

Are you kidding me? Obviously an amateur.

I hit her in the breast for her to stagger back then charged forward to stab her in her stomach, then slit her throat. She was never going to make it far in this world, I did her a favour.

Boom!

"Section B clear. Jasper, they're heading your way, get ready," Luciano said and I jogged around the place, checking to see if there were any survivors and killed them. Suddenly I saw my mother being guarded by three men and I shot them dead, leaving her shocked and frantic.

"Hello Ziva," she smiled and I narrowed my eyes at her in hatred.

"Can't handle the blood on your hands so you had people do them for you. You even had the love of your life killed. That's heartless, mother," I spat the word mother at her.

"To get where you want in life, some things will have be forgotten," she was still smiling proudly.

"You disgust me," I said and ran to attack her. Surprisingly she was a good fighter. She managed to get a few punches in. It was a continuous hand to hand combat which reminded me of the guy I fought in the bar a while back. I was getting frustrated and angry and wanted her dead. Hence, I switched up and I drop kicked her to the floor, wrapping my legs around her neck, then in snapped her neck.

I felt my heart sank at the realization that I killed my own mother but I pushed it aside and focused on the fact that I had to save Beatrice.

"Ziva, you okay?" Luciano asked, his eyes running over my body to check for serious injuries. He frowned at the bruises on my face.

"She dead," I told him and he nodded and pulled me in his chest.

"It's okay, we need to go for your sister," he reminded me and I snapped back to reality.

"Let's go,"

"Are you sure she's here?" Jasper asked as we stood in front of the broken down building.

"I am the one who left her here Jasp, what do you think?" I rolled my eyes.

"I'm just saying, it kinda looks-" he paused and looks at the building as if it isn't obvious.

"Not everything is as it seems, Jasper," I said and walked up to the front door and opened it. They came up behind me and looked inside and their jaws dropped.

"You wouldn't expect someone to live in a place this, so that's exactly where I put her. In plain sight," I told them and walked around the house.

"Beatrice? Beatrice!" and I heard movement. I followed the sound and saw her tied to her bed. I looked around to see if there's any trip wires or booby traps. There was none. I went by her side and moved the cloth off her mouth and untied her hands and feet. She hugged me immediately and started crying.

"It was her all along," she said through her sobs.

"I am so sorry Trice. We won't have to worry about her again," I told her, hugging her tightly and ran my hand through her hair to calm her.

"Ready to go home?"

"Yes,"

"Who are all these people?" she asked looking at the guy suspiciously.

"My friends," I told her and she relaxed. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you from now on." My eyes found Nik's who was looking at me with a slight frown.
