44| PLANNING AN ATTACK ON THE BUREAU

[ Chapter Forty-Four ]

Myra glared at the tv ad that Neron had recently made against mythical creatures, which was playing in the parlour. The rest of the Legends had similar facial expressions as they stared at it.

"I don't care if Neron's wearing my best friend's face. I want to punch him." Nate stated.

"I second that." Myra said, crossing her arms.

"Get in line." Mick added, drinking from his beer.

"Ogres are big softies. That one wouldn't even hurt a fly." Charlie commented.

"Neron's been a step ahead of us for too long. We need to play offense." Sara stated.

"Agreed." Ava nodded.

"Sorry, what are we agreeing to?" Zari asked.

"Look it's time for us to fight back. We're retaking the Bureau." Sara stated.

Myra raised an eyebrow, "Well this is going to go well."

Sara ignored her, "Gideon, pull up the blueprints at the Bureau and start fabricating an arsenal."

"Right away Captain." Gideon agreed.

"Look, Gary has bonded with the Fairy Godmother, and while he may be an idiot, she is not to be underestimated." Sara stated, "Mick, Nate, you think you can handle Tabitha?"

"Granny's dead." Mick confirmed.

"Good." Sara nodded, "Ava and I will handle Neron."

"Yeah, I want a crack at him. It's my bureau he's running his operation from." Ava said.

"Not to be a buzz-kill but even John and Nora couldn't out-magic Neron." Zari stated.

"Yeah, Z's right." Myra agreed.

"I just felt a kick." Nate said, clutching the dragon egg.

"Oh, I want to feel!" Charlie said, pressing her hand to the egg.

Myra standing on one side of Nate, also put her hand out.

"Right now the smart play would be just to bide our time. Wait for John-o to return with Ray's soul." Charlie stated.

"Shockingly I agree with Charlie." Zari said and bent to whisper to the dragon egg, "I love you, little Wicksty..."

"Oh, I felt it!" Charlie grinned.

"Me too!" Myra grinned at her.

"Okay, can you guys stop being dragon-baby crazy right now?" Sara asked, "Look this commercial is proof that Neron is up to something big, and we need to stop him before it's too late."

"Captain, I have an incoming communication from Nora Darhk." Gideon interrupted.

"Put her on." Sara said, slightly exasperated.

"Sara?" Nora asked.

"Talk to me, what's your status?" Sara asked.

"I'm tired of skulking around air ducts. I'm going after Mona." Nora said.

"Whoa. Whoa Whoa. We're gearing up for an assault. Hold your position." Ava stated.

"Too late." Nora answered, and a yell could be heard on her end.

"What is she doing?" Myra asked, wrinkling her nose in confusion.

"Wait, where's Gary?" Nate asked at the same time.

"In Ava's office, getting real comfortable." Nora said, sounding disgusted, as her voice disappeared and her communication ended.

Ava wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"Okay we need to do this now." Myra stated and looked at Charlie, "Normally I'd agree with you about biding our time but we need to get Mona out of there."

"Agreed." Ava nodded.

"I have fabricated the arsenal, Captain." Gideon interrupted.

"Great. Let's get to work." Sara stated.

After they went over the arsenal that Gideon had fabricated for their mission, Sara pulled Myra aside.

"What's going on?" Myra asked confused, "Do you have a special plan or something for me?"

"No, I wanted to give you something." Sara said, "Um Mick and I found it in Ray's room."

"You want to give me something from Ray's room?" Myra asked, raising her eyebrow.

"It was a present for you, Myra." Sara explained, "Here."

Sara handed her a bag that had a note taped to the outside. Myra took it and read the note aloud, "Myra, I made this for you and I hope it lifts your spirits. Ray."

Myra opened the bag and pulled out a small dagger and a small card that said 'Press the small button. Oh and yes, you can get it past any security systems'. Myra found the small button and pressed it and the dagger expanded into a large sword, identical to the one that she used on every mission. Myra gasped and flipped it over in her hands before looking back up at Sara, "He made this for me?"

"Yeah, I think it was after you broke up with Charlie." Sara answered.

Myra wiped a tear, "He never got to give it to me."

"We're going to get him back." Sara said.

Myra nodded, "Let's do this thing."

Myra tucked the dagger into her belt, where she usually kept her sword, and they went to the cargo bay where the others were getting ready.

"That's a lot of guns." Myra said, raising an eyebrow as she looked around at the other Legends who all had guns of different sizes.

Nate tossed a gun at her which she caught, "Suit up."

"I am." Myra said and showed her belt, "Ray made me a gift. A collapsable sword."

"You're going to need the gun." Sara told her and handed her a vest as well which Myra reluctantly put on.

"Okay fine." Myra sighed.

"Okay as soon as Ava opens the portal, we go in firing." Sara instructed.

"Time to burn some freaks." Mick said.

"Opening a portal in three, two, one." Ava said, but then suddenly disappeared.

"Okay what the hell?"
