Jack's POV

I woke up in a bright white room to the sound of a steady beeping sound. 'Where am I?' I thought absently to myself. I looked to my right to see a young girl, somewhere in her early 20's, messing around with an IV. "Oh, you're awake that's good." She looked down at me and smiled as she said this. I grunted in response and turned back to the ceiling. The nurse quickly left the room after a few seconds of silence, that's when I noticed the sound of another person breathing. I looked over to my left to see another boy around my age fast asleep. 'Did I know this person?' I thought quietly to myself, then the unfamiliar boy moved slightly grunting, he was obviously uncomfortable in the chair; or was he? The boy grunted again before sitting bolt up right breathing hard and in a cold sweat, 'what was he dreaming about that scared him so much?' I thought absently. "oh, y-you're awake..." he stumbled over his words nervously."Yeah I just woke up like... five minutes ago." I said trying my best to sound the slightest bit happy about it, it didn't work. The boy smiled, "my name's Kyle, what's yours?" He asked nonchalantly. "I'm Jack." I replied as I held out my hand for him to shake.
