The dark gray cat was walking closer. "We could be together." he said. "No. I- I have to be here. For my clan." a lighter gray cat stepped away, and fled into the forest.

Rainpaw suddenly jumped to her paws. What was that about? Rainpaw's dream had disturbed her, but she decided it was nothing. "Rainpaw!"

   Ashpool was calling Rainpaw to the back of the den. Rainpaw padded to the herb storage place.

   "Alright. Do you know what this is?" Ashpool pointed her tail at a clump of black seeds. "That's poppy seed!"

   Ashpool smiled at Rainpaw. "That's right. Now what is this?" She pointed her tail at some yellow flowers.

   "Um...marigold?" Rainpaw says, unsure. "That's right!" Ashpool sounded extremely happy. "You're learning well!"

   Wow, what is Ashpool so happy about? Rainpaw thought.

   "Ashpool, Petalstar needs you." Firestorm walked into the medicine cat den, a worried expression on his face. Ashpool walked out, and Rainpaw was alone. Hm. What's that smell? She decided it was nothing.

   Rainpaw looked around, and saw a brief flash of gray fur. Ashpool? She thought. No, probably just a mouse or something.

   Later that day, Rainpaw is sorting herbs when Jaggedclaw came rushing in, holding a battered Sandpaw in his mouth. He carefully puts her down, showing her twisted leg. "She was hit by a monster." He says.

   Rainpaw stares at Sandpaw's leg and nods. A monster. She covers the other aprentice's leg with cobweb, and starts to mix some herbs together. I hope I'm doing this right.

   Sandpaw whimpers whenever Rainpaw touches her leg. Rainpaw carefully puts a marigold leaf over the largest cut and covers it with cobweb. Jaggedclaw silently exits the medicine den. Rainpaw gave Sandpaw a poppy seed, and she fell asleep almost instintly.

   Suddenly, Rainpaw heard a familiar yowl. Hailpaw? She padded out of the den and saw her brother and his mentor wildly running into camp, with what seemed like the whole of Shadowclan behind them.

Cliffhanger! What will happen? Will someone die? Wait for the next chapter to fund out!
